  1. We will be at WDW the first weekend in January. DH and I aren't getting park tickets, the kids (teenagers) are getting one day park hoppers. They really want to try and tackle all four parks, I just need a little expert advice to help them out. They are all experienced so know their way around with no problem. They plan to be at HS for early entry at 8:00. All they really care to do there is TSMM, TOT and RRC. Do all three of those rides open for early entry? Also, they do enjoy the drawing class but something tells me that doesn't start until later in the morning. Can anyone confirm th
  2. I just came across this thread and it brings back a lot of memories. Another thing that's gone from the Fort are the slides made from the rollers (does anyone know what I'm talking about?). I always felt like it was an invitation to get little fingers pinched but my kids always liked playing on them. I have video from our trip in the late eighties and there are roosters or chickens at the side of the road. So whatever they were, they're gone too.
  3. I check the Target ads every Sunday. Sometimes they have a deal where if you buy a particular product they will give you a $5 or $10 target GC. I will do this when it is for a product I actually use and collect them over the course of the year. Then I buy Disney gift cards with them. I charge things to the room then pay it off with the gift cards. I have never had a problem but it can be time consuming so I can see where it would be beneficial to go down and pay off the balance every couple of days. I have been tempted to buy the cards at BJs for probably the same discount you're getting at
  4. My guess was that you were going to go on DCL, but Disneyland, wow! That is my dream trip. Have a wonderful time!
  5. Stitch is the only attraction in the MK that we have never done. But I think I would only do it in a desperate situation, such as escaping the cold, the heat or a horrific lightning storm.
  6. I'm in! Looking forward to hearing about your Thanksgiving dinner and how you cooked the turkey.
  7. I really enjoyed your trip report. We're going on Royal Caribbean in six short weeks, wasn't prepared to sell the kidney for Disney quite yet It was kind of fitting it was rainy your day of departure, the end of vacation is always depressing anyway. Thanks for sharing!
  8. I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. It must have been a shock for you being so unexpected and with you being away from home. But I'm sure you made the right decision to stay and visit with your aunt and uncle. Oh, and more beautiful pictures by the way!
  9. You got some really interesting perspectives in those pictures. Cool tree root but I have to ask, how did you ever notice it?
  10. Love the early morning pictures. I am a morning person so love getting up early and exploring while the rest of the world still seems to be asleep. It's so peaceful. Looks like you had beautiful weather for your day at the beach. How warm was it and how was the water?
  11. Looking forward to reading along. I would love to go on a Disney cruise someday!
  12. I think you nailed the photos of the tomb warriors. Who knew their faces were so full of expression?
  13. The clown in the car (who looks like a man to me) is either A) not a parent, or B just plain stupid. So is there a person in that Olaf? From a picture it's hard to tell if it's a costume or an animatronic.
  14. Well count me in as probably the only other person who owns that movie. My oldest had a weird love/hate relationship with Big Al when she was little. She liked him in the Country Bear Jamboree but one time we saw the costumed Big Al walking around Frontierland and she screamed bloody murder. If she hadn't been so terrified it would have been funny.
  15. Your family photo in front of the lighted castle is the best, in my opinion. I also enjoyed the mine train photo. Mrs. TCD looks like Twin #1 in it. It looks like they're really enjoying their ride. We rode it earlier this month and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised after reading so many negative comments online.
  16. I'm thinking I need to make a reservation for Trails End for breakfast. In your TOT picture the little boy in the back row looks like he's crying his eyes out.
  17. I saw a bottle of it at the bar at Crockett's Tavern just a couple of weeks ago.
  18. I love that picture you got of Michelangelo in Spaceship Earth. For some reason I can never get enough of that scene, it's fascinating!
  19. Great pictures of your kids at Chef Mickeys. Your daughter reminds me of my oldest when she was that age. Treasure these moments with them, the years go too fast!
  20. I'm in! Your kids are adorable! This picture is hysterical. On what criteria do they want you to base your experience? Cleanliness? Or whatever business you took care of?
  21. Have a great time, it's such a nice time of year to be there.
