  1. Finally found the Pirates one I had finished before I had done Lightning, and recently finished the first of many princesses in my stash of kits (Dave, look away!). I had completed another princess but noticed her head was all out of whack so had to pull out half of the stitches to fix it and am working on that now. She looked like an image from one of those fun mirrors at the carnival. Not pretty. Hopefully she'll be all fixed up soon and I will add her to the collection!
  2. I love your work. And your office! I spy: a Gator helmet, a Jeff Gordon die cast, and a ton of Disney characters. That would be very similar to what my office would look like……if I had one! However, I didn't spot any Red Sox merchandise….must be you have dedicated the entire opposite wall not pictured to them?
  3. Completely agree! I stopped using their ratings in doing research of new places for us to try. Found they are way off. Personally, I have found RVparkreviews dot com to be much more helpful and accurate, except for the occasional miserable individual who isn't even happy at the Fort leaving negative reviews.
  4. Says the man who paid a hundred bucks for a shower curtain……... That is crazy expensive, though. And even though it looks very high-tech and state of the art, when I saw the baby in the photo the first time all I could think was, what if it tipped forward? And the parents with their noses in their phones didn't notice in time to catch it before baby hits the ground face first?
  5. That is probably the best EE photo I've seen. Awesome. That beer looks yummy. One of the reasons I like going to AK! Also, I noticed your hair in this photo - I can't remember noticing you had bangs before, are they new? Very cute! Your day sounds wonderful to me. Not over planned or rushed, take it easy, see where it leads us is my style. Props for getting to all 4 parks, in flops too!
  6. Agree! I've noticed that a lot of the "not from this land" tourists like to stay out late. They would almost always have guests who would visit parks that stayed open later. Anything, as long as it had transportation available to get back to your room, would be good. DHS is the perfect place to capitalize on that.
  7. Oh geez….didn't catch that! What I meant was, you plug in the loop number to search for the video. Not that there is an adults-only loop. OOPS
  8. What have you got against Motown? I'd much rather hum along to the Trammps than Sir Mix a Lot. I'd tell you how I really feel about that photo, but I am once, twice, three times a lady.
  9. My bet is the Mrs. burned that thing. Burn baby burn! There you go - new ear worm.
  10. Wow! Again, when considering your back story, seeing all of those accomplishments (in the form of your medals) is nothing short of remarkable. Bravo, Ed.
  11. I've never stayed at Beverly Beach but have driven by many times when we lived down there. I looked into it once and it is very, very pricey and didn't get the best reviews in terms of amenities and service (I consult RVparkreviews dot com). However as Lou's photos show, it's about as close to the Atlantic as you can get. North Beach in St. Augustine is situated on A1A between the ocean and intracoastal waterway. It is not oceanfront but you just walk across the street from the CG. I think there are a few waterfront sites at Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach. But, they are n
  12. You'll get me for this? As in get me back? As in baby got back? hahaha you are welcome for the ear worm. I know you clicked on that link.
  13. Agree with the others on vehicles being parked too close to the loop making backing harder. Now that the number of vehicles per site and parking is not being enforced, people seem to park all over without regard to the rules or campers needing space to maneuver. I wouldn't call the fort desk for tips. Many of those people are downright clueless, I wonder if some of them have ever even seen the campground itself. This is your best place for advice on loops. The youtube videos I mentioned earlier are listed on there as "Fort Wilderness XXX loop", etc…..there is a video for each loop, ju
  14. We tow with a 2012 crewmax Platinum, 32' TT, 2 slides 6500 lbs. dry. However, we just got this one and haven't done much driving with it. Previously towed a 28', 1 slide, (I think) around 5,000 lbs. dry with no problems for 2 years. I drive a Sequoia that is 10 years old and going strong. It towed our first camper, a pop up, without issues for 2 years. My husband drove a Tacoma for a decade, when we upgraded to a TT he got the Tundra. Never a minute of trouble with the Tacoma, we were sad to see it go. Love our Toyotas. Dependable and durable. From reading his TRs, I know CKCK tows
  15. not all of the sites on 1400 would work for a rig that size….holy moly that thing is a mansion on wheels! Have you tried the FF site app, or the YouTube video showing all loops/sites that one of our members made? Those are really helpful. I would 2nd Carol's idea of 1600….only because there is a little more maneuverability. Sites aren't the greatest (coquina), but it's a good location and somewhat open. I think 300, 500 and parts of 800 would be difficult, as well, due to the angles and corners. We were right next to the people with the giant Voltage on 1601 at Christmas. They also ha
  16. Yes, I remembered from our Spring Break trip that C&D would come out earlier than they used to on weeknights, so we went over around 5:30 and were 2nd in line! You're probably right…..another megawatt light they'll leave on all night like the one you had!
  17. I don't know if it has anything to do with all of the activity going on around the canal/dam, but I saw some guys from Reedy Creek Energy doing some surveying on 12/31: This was on the main road between the entrance to the full hook-up loops and the 1500 loop.
  18. It was nice to see you too! As for the setup by the movie theater, I believe that is for C&D photos. Now, you wait in line like a regular character greeting. Seems to work out better and gives everyone a chance. Here is one I took in August, there aren't as many hay bales but my guess is they've added more for group shots? My boys are way past the character greeting age, and well, they're boys……but indulged me since I love Chip and Dale. ETA: looks like Aaron already explained…..nonetheless, this is kinda what it looks like: Just before I took this, Chip was ruffling one son'
  19. Sock-o's don't seem like very durable footwear in the rain……..but I give them props for their bold fashion statement! Curse them for taking those decorations down so early! In the rain, too….just like last year, when i accidentally witnessed the de-Christmasing of the fort. So depressing. Love the SM shot. Was Tomorrowland the only area open that late?
  20. Man. I have also never thought about all of those inclines. Not sure I've ever really noticed them, I guess with the crowds you don't. 2:30 am??? What time do they start the runners?
  21. I haven't committed to a new NFL team yet. Not sure it will be the birds. Also cannot get behind a team with Vick on it. The hubs has started to switch, though. Then again he was a Jaguars fan so anything is an improvement! My neighbors, who are natives, told me Eagles games might not be the best place to go w/ my kids. We are huge sports fans and were so excited to move to a city with a team in all of the sports we like to watch. We saw some bad press right after the season got underway last fall about fights in the stadium between fans. Really disappointing to not go to a football g
  22. Thank you for that tip! I love subs. So you're from NJ and call it a sub! My son has already started using the term hoagie. We did go to the shore once last summer. I had never spent much time at all in NJ and was pleasantly surprised by the landscape on our drive out there. We took back roads, it was really pretty. Believe me, I am not so naive to think that Philly is this beautiful city with a spotless reputation. We live well out of the urban area, and while I like going into the city for events and to sight-see, I wouldn't want to live there. But it's got a lot more variety of t
  23. HA! NOW I'm getting a straight answer…….. But I must tell you, I learned that offensive language from my good friend Ed (not Runner Ed), who hails from……wait for it…….Long Beach Island, NEW JERSEY!!!
  24. Suck it d-bag. I like it here. I liked in FL. Bloom where you're planted. Ed, is that better?
