  1. I live in Abingdon and it takes us about 30-45 minutes to get downtown when there is no traffic, it would be 95 South into the city. I haven't seen the rv park at Bar Harbor, but it is next to a protected estuary, so it should be quiet.
  2. I had the honor of playing Malificent in the Sleeping Beauty ballet. It was just about the most fun I have ever had onstage.
  3. Our favorite parks now has one of our favorite treats! WooHoo...
  4. Hope you are able to make it to the Fort tomorrow. Sorry about the delay.
  5. My DH lost his 10 day park hopper on the first day of our trip. We purchased through AAA, but I had the receipt with me. The front desk of the hotel replaced his ticket without question.
  6. I have never understood the "sprint" for any attraction. Main Street in an of itself should be savored.
  7. I agree that 3D will be the standard - guess we'll just keep working on the glasses...
  8. I love Soarin' , but can see the need for an upgrade in the film. I am going to be the dissenter on 3D - I am not fond of the glasses and I have a kid that just won't wear them. He sat through the Toy Story 1&2 3D double feature watching the blurry screen.....
  9. Thank you for your service. I haven't been on the board long either, but have been having a blast! Enjoy....
  10. We drive all night with cat naps along the way too.
  11. I think my sons would not know it was the Fort without Stacy. The youngest has her on at all times that we are not in the parks and my older son is a big fan of the Disney Cartoons. Can't tell you how many times I have dosed off to Mickey's whistle. Consequently, even with two tv's, that leaves no tv viewing for the adults.
  12. Love the skyway photo. Our 1st trip to WDW my parents put us on by ourselves (we were teens) and then realized it wasn't round trip. They actually beat us to the other end of the line.
  13. We have used the My Magic+ and have not been overly impressed. We attempted to book fast passes for toy story mania from home on the first day we were allowed to and couldn't get anything anywhere near the time we requested. We checked every day including after arrival and were never able to get the time we wanted. Ended up going 1st thing in the morning and jumping in line, only to hear someone say they had booked fast passes for 10am the night before. I would be more impressed with the passes without the tiering. To be honest we only booked three because we had to choose three, we rarel
  14. I think I'll stick with The Fort and "tip" my kids to be the attendant.
  15. I wonder how long I could stay at The Fort for $3400?
  16. I am a HUGE fan of baseball and hot dogs, but can't get onboard with the Apple Pie. Guess that makes me partially All American. I also really enjoy sheppards pie and cottage pie (although I can't remember which meat goes in which).
  17. No vacation is perfect for everyone and I know Disney seems expensive, but I know people who pay more for their week at our state's ocean destination then what I've paid for most of my Disney Resort Hotels. On top of that the bottle of water that Disney charges $2.50 for is $5.00 at our major league ballpark. I'll take Disney anyday. Oh, and as horrible as this seems...I don't eat pie.
  18. We have a hybrid and have never been questioned about it on the partial hook-up. Before our first trip we made repeated calls to the Fort directly to make sure we didn't show up and get turned away (the first trip in the camper was a surprise for the kids - they did not even know we bought the camper), so you can imagine we didn't want anything to spoil that. The only thing that ever seemed to concern them was the overall length of the camper.
  19. That is the best use for a plastic bag that I've seen yet
  20. Okay, As the parent of an autistic child I am somewhat embarrassed by this lawsuit. Do the changes to the GAC make it more difficult for my son to visit the parks, ABSOLUTELY, but to claim that Disney made these changes to exclude kids like my son is beyond ludicrous. Yes, it is important that guests with disabilities have the same access to experiences that all guests have, but it is also the duty of every parent of a disabled to child to take responsibility for the needs of their own child. We visited WDW at both Thanksgiving and Christmas with my son and found ways to get him on his favo
  21. Good morning - I was wondering if anyone had ever used Char-Jen in Kissimee for camper storage?
  22. Comfort stations are nicer than the bathrooms in some hotels I've ever stayed in....we usually stay on a "tent" loop and oddly enough, the boys in my family have had to wait longer for showers than I have.
