On our western trip in 2011 we stayed a week at Portal RV Resort in Moab. http://www.portalrvresort.com/home.html

I have a 30 amp rig with 2 ACs, and I can run them at the same time. However, I can't use the W/H on electric or the microwave while running both ACs. My rig has a power management system that prevents exceeding the 30 amp limit in most cases.

We ask for the free ice water. Sometimes it comes in the kid's meal cup and other times in the adult small cup, but it's free.

Cool. We'll be renewing our APs next week, so we'll get something new for our MB collection.

I would do that once if it were an option :)
We had a boat captain in October that did not pay any attention to the no wake zone and it was a much quicker ride! It was right after the fireworks one night with a full boat, the wife and I both couldn't believe he went through there like that.On Tuesday we took the motor launch from the WL to MK. We had a boat driver with a learner's permit. He needed 3 tries to dock at WL. People applauded when he tied up. Our trip through the no wake zone was so slow, ducks were passing us. :-)

Judy noticed this on Monday when we were there for lunch with the Earl, but we had just finished a Mickey bar so we didn't get any. :-(

Definitely go with Jason. He helped us last year with getting a reservation in December. I think he's your best bet.

When I did online check-in 2 weeks ago for my premium site, I chose 5th wheel (I have a Class A with 2 slides ) and must accommodate fold out awning. I also faxed my site request and received one of my 3 preferred sites.

Just went to the Bike Barn to get one but it's closed. :-(

Stopped at the Bike Barn this afternoon. They have a sign out advertising something called Camp-or-Treat. They gave us a flyer that reads:
"Sign up at the Bike Barn to be a host site for Camp or Treat. You will receive a "Trick or Treat" sign that must be displayed in your campsite. On the day of the event, you can pick up a list of all the participating locations. You are responsible for providing candy. All candy must be distributed in their original wrappers. Camp or treating will take place on Monday, October 31 from 7:00pm-9:00pm."

We checked in to the Fort on Wednesday. I had done the online check in and faxed a site request. I gave them a check in time of 1PM, but I arrived about 12:45. I received both an email and a text at 12:41 telling me my site number (one of the sites that I requested) and that I could go directly to my room if I had my Magic Band. Since I was driving and couldn't check my phone, I went through the check in lane. It wasn't a big deal because I was the only one checking in at that time and it went very smoothly.

I replaced most of the automotive type bulbs in my RV's interior lights several years ago with LED bulbs that I bought from superbrightleds.com. They are brighter and cooler than the incandescent bulbs and consume about 1/10th of the electricity.

We'll bring a GAG.

Got ours yesterday! Woot!

This kind of begs the question, how many big bags of Halloween candy should I buy at Costco before we get to the Fort? I thought about sending the DW out in costume to trick or treat and use her loot to keep the bowl filled!

It's crazy what people will do for a little free candy.

When you use the truck lanes try to go to Pilot. You can pay at the pump. Most other truck stops make you go in and pay first. Pilot has a app that you can plan your fuel stops around.
Pilot also owns the Flying J truck stops. Most Flying Js in the South and Southeast have dedicated RV lanes, which have both gas and diesel and allow pay at the pump. The Pilot RV charge card can also be used at the Flying Js and you get the same 5 cent per gallon discount. The Pilot smart phone app also includes the Flying J locations and RV islands is one of the filters. If you stop at a Flying J, the RV islands are out front with the gas islands, but well off to the side so you have plenty of room to maneuver.

Is the Fort getting new cabins?

I think the road you're referring to is Black Lake Road. It is a public road. I've used it a few times.

Inaugural Epcot International Festival of the Arts
in Trip Reports

Thanks for the trip report. We went to the festival on Monday, sunny and cool and uncrowded, a great day for walking around the World Showcase. We finally bought the David Doss print Fun at Fort Wilderness, and got it signed by the artist.
