  1. I took the firepit over to the family just down from you with the Toy Story theme and they were very appreciative of the leftover wood from Jason and Kelly. They had a roaring fire going when I went by last night. Thanks guys.
  2. With all the rain we have had, would anything even burn? lol
  3. Just called the fort and they said they now only deliver to the group camping area. Wonder if we can get a different response when somebody else calls tomorrow? hahaha
  4. Heard through the grapevine that due to pressure on him from Disney, you may have to get your cart outside the gate someplace. I will try to verify this in the next few days.
  5. You could take bets on whether they will hit the power stump, the garbage cans, the recyclables bin or maybe even a stray Truck or golf cart. Points for each? hahaha I've seen all of em.
  6. I have seen enough unsuccessful attempts trying to get large rigs into a preferred site to make a new reality show. Some you can but most... well let's just say...get yourself a chair and some popcorn. As previous fiends have said the sites are generally smaller but also the road is tighter too. Some have a very tight turn to get in.
  7. Gee, if I didn't know any better I'd say there are a bunch of people that like camping in here....except one old curmudgeon. :dogsnicker:
  8. You can also check out a local RV place that rents campers. Try a pop up, see if that works for you. Then go from there. They're not really expensive to rent a pop up. Many of the people that rent from us wanted to try it and see if they liked it. Most of them said they are hooked and want to buy one. Several have now bought their own and are now having other friends rent to try it.
  9. We went to the Tampa show yesterday. Very few pop ups. If you don't buy at the show, buy on the last day of the month. The salesmen get hungry. Be careful of what looks like a terrific price as we noticed the pop ups did NOT have AC installed at their prices at the show.
  10. Camping is something you would come to love. It is totally different than hotel stays. If you enjoy the outdoors it is an even better extension of it. You don't necessarily need to buy a new huge camper. Once you get into it, you will decide how important some things are to you. Some campers move up in size, some love the smaller ones. Of course buying used allows you to fit your budget too. Once you have one, you'll find yourself looking for excuses to get out and enjoy nature with an occasional trip to the Fort! It's a great way to leave the rest of the world behind. Good luck on wh
  11. Well you know all sites in the world of camping are level so they don't need to talk about that....lol
  12. So if you stay on the grounds with bracelet but have an annual pass, will they attach the annual pass to the bracelet or will you still have to go the "special place" in the corner to get only your AP fastpasses? Just scheming.....
  13. I just use a good old -fashioned piece of wood, either 1 inch or 2...lol
  14. Get the important stuff done before you pop open the beer....lol I can see the jacks being a problem. They should not be used to level it only stabilize it as you mentioned. I don't do that so I didn't think that way....lol. But, I can understand people doing it.
  15. The video does say to level it first then raise it, then put down the jacks. I feel better by putting down the jacks so that it cannot move around while you are raising it. Those darn Coleman's wind and wind and wind, about twice as many as the Jayco. Lol I think the key is to make sure it's level first.
  16. It would be interesting to see why they say to raise the roof first. I can't think of any reason. I know that the cables would be less likely to rub and wear if they are straight than leaning against a crooked shaft. The guides should also be lubed once in a while for just that reason too. Especially if they are telescopic.
  17. That should work. Keep in mind to seal around the air conditioner too. It is a weak point with Coleman's. If it is the aluminum roof you are fortunate. The ABS roof is known to crack & crumble.
  18. First thing up and last thing taking it down. It will keep it straight so there is less pressure on the guides as it goes up and down. You don't want any more pressure than there is already. Good idea to put some oil in there once in a while to keep it moving smoothly. Also on the crank and cable. What are you getting?
  19. I finally asked what those round things with the hole in the middle along the tree line going towards the Fort were. I was told they are African bee traps. I was told they haven't caught any here yet but there was a large number of them in the Tampa area. What I would like to know is why would Africanized bees be the only ones being coerced into the traps? Anybody else hear anything about these?
  20. Interesting, but why am I not surprised?
  21. Contacted the front office today in regards to their rules for documented service animals. The response from the Fort was that any service animal is allowed in any room on any property or any site in any camping situation. They request that they not be in a tent in a partial but will allow it. They also do not need to be crated at any time. Pop ups as well as any RV are okay anywhere with a service animal. It almost sounded like they were afraid to give any type of limitations in regards to it. I guess that means they are treated like guests. So, it may be that you were seeing document
