  1. Thats exactly what we ended up doing - Chevy suburban - way more than we need - there are only 4 of us and it seats 9!
  2. Im not one to get nervous on rides - but that one has always scared me.
  3. Thanks for the detailed report - never saw this at the other place! Love Christmas time at the Fort!
  4. Super report - I have to add Charleston to our vacation list!
  5. I am blaming it on the baby - I just can't wrap my head around the immediate expenses and logistical requirements that will come with our new camper. We live in Connecticut and we are buying this new hybrid camper outright for $X from RV direct - they are based in NY. We are picking it up whenever they decide to finish it - hopefully before the 4th of July. Besides paying for the camper - I am having trouble figuring out what other expenses we will have and when we will have them - after picking it up. I know we will owe sales tax and we will have to pay to register the camper - but when d
  6. I like that - Im sorry you have food poisoning but Wishes is in an hour - See ya! LOL - Im just kidding - I hope DH recovered quickly!
  7. A guidebook would be great - I think adding some history and funny stuff that goes on would make it a real winner! Get writing!
  8. I am late to this report - Great job so far and Happy Anniversary! We are celebrating 15 years this year also.
  9. Congratulations on your first trip report - and its a cabin report also - how exciting - look forward to hearing more!
  10. I didn't know there were armadillo's in Florida - I thought they were a midwest animal. I would have been shocked silly if I had seen one around the Fort. Shows you what Connecticut people know about armadillo's.
  11. 1503 is a great site - especially for families - close to the pool - lots of room to spread out your stuff and the kids love to poke around and explore the little patch of woods right there. You are also right about the bus noise . . . for some reason it's just not that bad once you get used to it. Now lets get back to this book idea - I would buy it! I can see the chapters now - RMOG hall of fame, forgotten wonders, FW courtesy, favorite trip reports, etc. You have a special wit when you write that Im certain would translate well into print. Why not try a limited run and sell it throug
  12. Another 4-H Mom - how wonderful. Thanks fo sharing your trip report!
  13. We usually go to publix - with three kids - Garden Grocer is looking more appealing.
  14. So far we only have two booked - Jellystone in PA over the 4th of July weekend and Hammonasset Beach state park the week of August 22nd. We did have two fort trips booked - one over halloween and another over Christmas but those have to be postponed because of the baby :)
  15. Loving your TR - as usual - your knowlege is so extensive - have you ever thought about writing a book about the Fort?
  16. I am starting to plan for next April and I was wondering who here uses the Garden Grocer and what was your experience like - Thanks!
  17. Don't do the dinner! There is much better food for the money out there. Breakfast is the best meal they have to offer and even that is mediocre. The best part about this resturant is the unusual charachters.
  18. I take issue with this new policy - what are the parents supposed to do between the ticket counter and the plane - also during the layover? Rediculous - One more way airlines can make things difficult for parents.
  19. I'm so glad we have a pet now and are required to stay in certain loops. If it had been me I would have asked to move. If I was told no - It would not have been pretty.
  20. My husband has done this twice (once with other fiends) - I have done it once. It was well worth our time.
