  1. I saw that the other day and had to chuckle. It's like a party within a party. Reminds me of those infomercials where if you order NOW, you get TWO for the price of one! Only in Disney's case, it's more like BUT WAIT! There's more! Book your vacation TODAY, and you'll receive one party, for the price of TWO!
  2. I'm at BNA waiting to board right now. Ok, not really. I'm in volleyball hell waiting for DD's practice to end. Almost as fun as the Fort though.
  3. If she's making sausage gravy, I'm going to southwest.com.
  4. No... the coffee's always tepid at Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino.
  5. No way. My sources tell me the new resort will be Disney's first nudist resort. Nudists and scalding hot beverages don't mix.
  6. LOL....and she has a certain, special, something.
  7. Yes, you have to believe they will eventually build on the land originally earmarked for the Venetian Resort. The story told about that property has always been that the land is too soft and would be very expensive to build on. Ok....but there are huge skyscrapers built in swampy, filled in areas like lower Manhattan and they haven't sunk. If Disney wants to build here, they will figure out how to make it work.
  8. Next thing you know he'll be asking if the cabins are worth it, or should he stay at the Fort Wilderness Lodge.
  9. TCD meant Outpost. I think he just mistyped.
  10. While that sounds like a lot of money (and it is), I know from experience that transporting a large family to the port is expensive no matter how you slice it. While you can typically rent a car on the cheap at MCO, when you have to move up to a minivan or SUV the price jumps exponentially. And then you have to pay to park it at the port. And ground transport options like Mears, shuttles, Uber, etc, are either unavailable or quite pricey for large parties. Yes, you can find cheaper transport than dropping $500+ with tip for a Minnie Van, but probably not THAT much cheaper. Besides,
  11. I think they have 2 reasonable options to get people into and out of the new resort, noted on the below map. The least expensive option (in yellow) would seem to be utilizing the WL's existing entrance road, and then forking off onto the bus road. However, this would add a great deal of additional traffic to that entrance, which wouldn't seem to be ideal. A second option (in purple), would create an entirely new entrance off of Vista Blvd to the east of the existing drainage canal. The road would run north toward the new resort, possibly joining at some point with the existing road ut
  12. I agree, with one exception. While BLT is sort of a DVC addendum to CR, this new resort will presumably be a standalone property with restaurants, bars, gift shops etc. And ain't no way the Mouse restricts access to the money making aspects of the resort, even to us filthy campers. Our money is still green, afterall. We just won't be able to access the rest of the property (pools, room corridors, concierge lounges, etc).
  13. It's a lot better than it was in 2011. It's primarily, if not all, 4 lane now. Like Blake said above, go all the way to Vista and turn right into Disney property. Other than a couple of speed bumps that are a pain with an RV, it's a quick straight shot to the Fort from there.
  14. I agree...focusing on a newer movie franchise is a great idea. This is probably as good a time as any for me to let the cat out of the bag. Disney has licensed the story of my life to create a new land at Hollywood Studios, to be called 50 Shades of Dave. Let your imaginations run wild on that one.
  15. Yeah that's what I've read. And they are 50k per night now!
  16. Probably not, but did you know the Swan and Dolphin do now?
  17. You think the Flying Nun thing is bad, have you seen the concept art for the proposed facade improvement project on Pioneer Hall?
  18. The more I think about it, the more I think Discovery Lodge is the likely name. Because Disney has Discovered they can sell these units no matter how ugly they are.
  19. Ok, I've changed my mind on the name....it won't be Cypress Springs. It will be Disney's Spring Hill Suites. Seriously, it looks like something Marriott would build in an office park off the beltway, in Anytown USA. I really had thought they'd build the design that was leaked several years ago, which excited me. Tearing down the horse barn and paving over the TCD Ranch for this is sad.
  20. All I can tell is that single day, peak MK tickets seem to be the same price today as they were yesterday. Somewhere between ARM and LEG.
  21. It's now October 16. Has the new pricing been released?
  22. Last weekend (on Sunday 10/7) I passed a rig on I-40 west bound between Knoxville and Nashville that looked like yours. Semi tractor pulling big fifth wheel with a Smart car parked sideways in front of the fiver. Copycats!
