  1. But tax and gratuity is included! It would only cost me $1,192 to take my family.
  2. That store was there in 1979?
  3. Right now, it looks like 75 northbound is getting through, but very slowly. Likewise, I-24 east getting onto 75 in both directions is passable. You cannot travel south on 75 through Chattanooga, nor can you access I-24 from 75 northbound.
  4. Part of a bridge carrying I-75 over I-24 where those roads converge in Chattanooga collapsed a short time ago. I don't think there were any life threatening injuries, but traffic is a mess and the area should be avoided in the coming days. https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/breakingnews/story/2019/apr/01/railing-bridge-collapses-i-24-west-split-area-closed-traffic/491724/
  5. While it was obvious that the article was an April Fools joke while reading it, it was actually pretty well crafted. Someone at that website is an imaginative writer.
  6. News out of Pigeon Forge this morning: KANYE WEST BUYS DOLLYWOOD THEME PARK FOR $130 MILLION. https://www.pigeonforgetnguide.com/blog/news/kanye-west-buys-dollywood-pigeon-forge/
  7. I think I'm first. That makes me the winner. And the rest of y'all....well, you know. (don't even try that Second is the New First crap). Geocaching looks fun....I have no idea why we've never done it. My 13 y/o would enjoy it I think.
  8. Pretty cool video. My impressions of the biggest changes from 1982 to now: The trees and vegetation have really filled in throughout the WS since then. Men's shorts were way too short in 1982. Kodak was still relevant then. Hard to imagine double decker buses driving amongst the crowds in the WS today.
  9. In my opinion, the problem at Disney Parks isn't the big strollers, or the wagons. And the problem isn't the scooters. The problem at Disney Parks is all of the dadgum people. There are just TOO MANY PEOPLE in those parks. Reduce capacity, and allow the folks to just enjoy their day without getting all stressed out over crowds, fastpasses, fireworks viewing spots, long lines, finding a seat at a restaurant, etc. That's why I bailed on Disney and just go to Dollywood. I can walk in at park opening without an ounce of planning, ride everything I want, get a great meal without a reservation
  10. Got it...thanks. In reality, my wife and I often split adult meals, so what's the difference? I need to remember that. I would guess it's no problem at all at a counter serve place either.
  11. I think I've asked this question before on this board, but does Disney overall not have an issue with adults ordering kids meals? Obviously not at a pay-one-price restaurant like a buffet, but in the sit down restaurants where you order off a menu, do the menus have any language like "12 and under please" or similar? Or do they take the position that the kids meals are fine for anyone with a smaller appetite?
  12. If only Disney provided written rules with those rental carts. Then that poor driver would have some guidance on where to drive and not drive.
  13. My sources tell me they could only save one of MBYBBQ or MBYMPAC....not both. Of course, the BYMPAC brings in a lot more money, and it's primarily cash. The Mouse loves cash. Even singles.
  14. You need to use the DIT Vacation-Geographic Scale. It's simple...choose your vacation spot based on the geographic area currently in their most desirable season. For instance, here in TN, fall is perfect for camping so we stay close to home, but summer is miserable so we tend to travel to places like northern Michigan where summer is beautiful. In winter or early spring we head to Florida. Ain't no way, no how I'm leaving hot, humid TN in the summer and going further south into hot, humid Florida. Until Disney builds a giant dome over the whole place to maintain it in perpetual seasonal
  15. Think of it as renewing your vows. And your financial commitment to the Mouse. 😆
  16. I get it if they were only supposed to be in place for 10 years, and it's been close to 20. At the very least, Disney should apply a bit more editorial control over the responses given by the Mom's Panel. https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney.go.com/question/buy-paver-commemorative-stone-magic-kingdom-last-time-339068/ But hey, who am I to question the all-knowing Disney Mom's Panel??
  17. Let me see if I have this straight. Disney used to sell commemorative bricks to guests, personalized with their family's name or whatever they chose to have inscribed, for use on a walkway around Seven Seas Lagoon. I don't know exactly how Disney described these pavers at the time, but you can search online for information about the program and find the words "permanent" and "legacy" in many places, including on Disney's own Moms Panel website. There is also information that indicates the bricks cost anywhere between $85-250 depending on size. And now Disney intends to rip this walkway up,
  18. Personally, for 10 days I'd stick to Southern Cali, and save San Fran and northern CA for another trip someday....which hopefully you can pull off. If you want to spend 4 days at DL, see anything around the LA area, maybe Santa Monica and Malibu, and get down to San Diego to see the zoo and stuff, I don't think you can also get to SF. Not without rushing, or not spending much time exploring LA and San Diego. I'd recommend focusing on everything south of say Ventura for a 10 day trip.
