  1. By "sources", do you mean the voices in your head?
  2. My sources tell me that the new Settlement area will include a permanent kiosk for Mo's Lobster Crack 'N Cheese.
  3. Until I see otherwise, I am giving Disney the benefit of the doubt with this resort. Let's face it...the Fort of our youth has been gone for over a decade, if not two. The peacocks, train, trams, River Country, etc are never coming back. But what will exist once this construction is all over in a few years might not be terrible. While it's becoming clear that the Settlement and Clementine Beach will be significantly altered, I have yet to walk around a single resort at WDW where I thought to myself "good Lord this is awful!". I believe they will create a beautiful place. Different, no do
  4. Sometime's when it's time to turn the page to another chapter in life, we resist mightily. We are supposed to move on to a new, exciting phase in our lives, but we can't get there if we hang on to the past. Perhaps your last RV purchase was that....it was time to move to the next chapter but you weren't ready and you were hanging on to what was. I know I tend to do that. But now it's time to jump with both feet and find out what is in store for your family. I bet it'll be every bit as fun and fulfilling as those camping trips to the Fort....just different. I hope you stick around here
  5. They are doing a Lemonade Mouth marathon every night in March.
  6. We've only stayed at Elkhart Campground up there. It was fairly nice, and has cabin rentals. I know nothing about the cabins though. In any case, might be worth checking out as it has to be cheaper than the KOA. Off topic...but go eat at the Essenhaus. And be sure to visit the RV Hall of Fame and Museum.
  7. Disney has a limitless supply of natural fertilizer to help that grass grow....just down the road at the horse barn. Of course, that's probably not a good idea. INC and I had the bright idea a couple of years ago to work some of our horse manure into the front beds before planting flowers. I filled up the front loader from the pasture with nice manure, and we worked it into the soil, then planted flowers. And that's when we found out that Golden doodles and Maltipoos LOVE digging up manure for a snack. The flowers didn't fare so well. And neither did the dogs tummies.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if it reopens with a sponsorship. Pluto's Bark Park, brought to you by Pedigree.
  9. The Wild Women should have messed with the Mouse and moved some of those stakes around. Then, Reflections would end up looking like this...
  10. Is it still in the running to becoming America's next top theme park?
  11. The entire Fort is like a giant trap baited with chicken, ribs and kungaloosh, and we've all fallen for it.
  12. I was surprised to see 2 dog parks when we were there over New Years. When did they add the 2nd fenced area?
  13. You're like an old, worn out pair of shoes with dog poop on the bottom. She should have tossed you out years ago, but it gets to a point that you're somewhat comfortable, and shopping for new shoes is exhausting.
  14. If I were trespassing on Disney property in such a manner as depicted in that video, I wouldn't brag about it on YouTube. Idiot. If I were Disney I'd be having one of my junior associates in the legal department send him a nastygram informing him if he trespasses on my property again I'd be pursuing all legal action afforded by local and state statutes.
  15. Yeah the Salton Sea is another interesting place. Lots of abandoned resort properties from the 60s before the lake went putrid.
  16. I've always had a morbid fascination with failed development. There are a lot of examples of such communities from the era leading up to the 2008 real estate collapse, especially in Florida, Vegas, Arizona and similar places. Lehigh Acres is particularly large. Have you ever heard of California City? It was developed in the 1960s, or at least they tried, but it is massive! A handful of people live there among the ruins of what was laid out. I guess it's a good place for someone wanting to disconnect from society.
  17. So this dog is living at the Fort free of charge, getting food handouts and not having to work for months on end? If you had figured out how to get away with that, would you want to be caught?
  18. I got excited for a minute until I realized what they are. I initially misunderstood and thought it was a Mickey Ice Cream Bar with rice krispies in the chocolate and a drizzle of white chocolate on the ears. Now, didn't that just make your mouth water?
  19. Not all Kroger's carry them. The two closest to me don't, but one on the other side of town does. You can check on the Kroger app.
  20. If the buildings need maintenance, maybe they will carefully dismantle them so they can reuse the original timbers that were sourced in the Rocky Mountains, and rebuild them in the same locations but spun 180 degrees so they face the new resort and the backsides face the campground.
  21. I don't buy this rumor. I do expect we'll see an overhaul of the settlement area, including some sort of project to beautify the area to the rear of PH and TE. But I expect the Fort Settlement may be one of the selling points for the Reflections resort, so I can't see them moving it a mile away.
  22. I agree. When shopping online for hotels it's typical to focus on the room rate, and not give much thought to the resort fee. I don't think Disney will leave that money on the table much longer. Most nice resort hotels are charging $25/night or so.
  23. The only thing that surprises me is that they are removing one of the more compelling arguments for staying onsite. I guess for 1 or 2 people, depending on how they price it, ME will still be cost effective. But for a family it'll make more sense at that point to get a Minnie Van. Aaaannnddd....I just stumbled onto the real reason they are doing this. LOL.
  24. Hasn't that been expected for some time? Maybe it was you that posted about rumors to that effect last year? Or perhaps Jason....my memory is fuzzy. I just remember that when I booked ME for my son in law in December, I was surprised that it was still free.
