  1. We watched the Space X launch and even just seeing the booster land softly back on the drone barge smack dab on the X was impressive.
  2. Just sent you a PM with Warren's email address. Welcome to Fort Fiends!
  3. That would be amazing. I'd totally rig it up with a homemade version of the Illuminations light show projected on it and play the music really loud.
  4. I read an article yesterday by someone that actually flew down for the opening. Can't lay my hands on it now but he said that in general social distancing was handled well as far as line queues went, but it kind of went out the window in other areas. He did say there was quite a lot of confusion about how the lines and virtual queues worked and that a cast member told him they're still working it out themselves. He said they had lots of people "policing" masks and social distancing (very nicely) and said that while he's heard reports online of people who refused to wear masks getting specia
  5. That's going to be the weird thing. With social distancing, what would have been a mass of people (a la "move up and fill every available space") is now going to be a long "single file" line that's going to appear to be a heckuva lot longer of a wait than it actually is. It'll be interesting to see how well the virtual queue works in keeping those lines down.

  7. "The mood of the crowd has been very patient..." Let's see how that lasts when there are a lot more people... and it's hot.
  8. Weird! Did a couple of kids grab the keys and take it for a joy ride? LOL
  9. Updated info posted to the DCL site today... https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/advisory/

  11. I totally lucked out and was able to tag along on my brother's family trip a few years ago. SIL is a TA and booked us concierge level at the Poly. Great view of the castle from our balcony - I spent a lot of time out there just sitting and enjoying the view. Also loved that I could watch the EWP from the pool. 🙂 Just loved the overall vibe of the Poly. Plus good food (ate a bunch of meals at Kona), and easy access to both Trader Sam's and Dole Whips!

  14. Love the Poly!! No fall trip for us this year either (boooooo), but we're still planning to book for late fall 2021. Not only is it WDW's 50th but it's our 25th anniversary also so it's perfect timing!
  15. So Disney gets a little over a month to see how things go at UO before they start reopening and adjust their own plans accordingly. Seems smart to me. No parades and fireworks - makes sense.
  16. Yep - all that. So allergy season note to self: carry a spare mask! LOL I'm wearing a mask where it's required by a business or if I know I'll find myself somewhere where it's not easy to stay a decent distance away from others. But I'm with you in that it's super unlikely I'll visit the parks if a mask is involved. How long I could handle it depends very much on the weather. I already overheat easily and that's here in NH. I went to a garden center/farm stand the other day and I could just about handle the hour I was there in 70°. I managed, but it was not comfortable, n
  17. Beer through a straw is gross (I blame college). Taking off the mask while sitting to eat works just fine but if this goes on into the fall I wonder what that will mean for Food & Wine when most food and drink is consumed either walking around or standing next to the closest trash can?
  18. LOL! Was there a sticky note on the sign on the way in that said "and also no BBQs"? Oh that's a horse of a different color. Allofthepeople X7 LOL Actually if they're going to do like Shanghai and require reservations for the parks to limit capacity, it probably won't be that terrible. If the resorts don't open at the same time as the parks, they can weed out the people showing up without reservations at the toll plazas. Now THAT might be where it gets interesting. And if the resorts do open at the same time they can always check before they let you get on the bus/boa
  19. I bet there are people that will pay cash money for beer scented masks. LOL That may be the $64,000 question.
