  1. Not that it's an indicator of what will happen here, but DL Paris has announced they will not be opening before July 14.
  2. Somehow I don't think this guy is either. But something, actually quite a few things, in this story just don't add up - https://www.foxnews.com/us/disney-world-trespass-suspect-viewed-discovery-island-as-tropical-paradise-authorities-say "A man arrested at Disney World in Florida last week for attempting to quarantine from the coronavirus on Discovery Island viewed the small park-owned island as a "tropical paradise," authorities say." So he somehow knew the island was there and was a "tropical paradise" but didn't know that it's WDW private property and has been for more than 50
  3. Reports of more hiring for World Showcase... https://wdwnt.com/2020/05/morocco-pavilion-at-epcot-now-hiring-for-merchandise-hosts-and-tangierine-cafe/?fbclid=IwAR0uU6KwXYjAAa-tLyKJfWIfwxyG6mYgi8iDbY5ttnOfy8APXLIXsAofAl0
  4. I'm inclined to see how it all shakes out - what changes are made and how things go the first few weeks (months?) of reopening, before I load up the camper and head south. I need to be fairly confident that it's "safe" and running smoothly and no one will really know that for sure until they actually start opening things up and see what happens. November in general has been our favorite go-to time for ages. Weather is typically great (not too hot for this Northern girl), F&W, Christmas stuff without the Christmas crowds... the whole shebang. Once upon a time the week before Chri
  5. We love Thanksgiving time - all of November really. It's usually plenty warm enough for us to swim - although we're from NH. 😎 Except that one time about 10-ish years ago when it was bloody cold (even for us), but that only lasted a few days before it warmed up again.
  6. From the Disney Cruise website as of this morning... https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/advisory/
  7. Not specifically Disney, but also The Princess Bride is coming to D+ May 1st. Which means I can watch it another 419 times. 🤗
  8. I expect rather than reducing prices, we'll just see a whole bunch of promotional offers being released. That way they can effectively "reduce" prices for a temporary period of time as they need to - to get people in the parks, heads in beds, seats filled in restaurants - and then as business picks back up, just scale back on the offers and not have to technically "raise" prices on anything. They've done it in the past when things were slow(er) and they needed to boost attendance and sales. Free dining was one of those offers - for a while it was being put out there regularly to boost the sl
  9. That show is on my list - looking forward to it.
  10. Another construction project that's still moving forward... Construction on Flamingo Crossings Hotels and Disney College Program Housing Continues Through COVID-19 Pandemic https://wdwnt.com/2020/04/photos-flamingo-crossings-construction-update-4-15-20-hotels-go-vertical-disney-college-program-housing-shaping-up/?fbclid=IwAR2TlWeE3tiFJ3pLmNcgGQC8vtl-Z30wtIJV0cjJHErSd-x-XESU4icog7w
  11. They've done a heckuva job quickly adjusting to a whole new line of content to keep people engaged - and quickly too!
  12. Work has continued despite smaller crews and stringent new regulations from the CDC. According to analyst David Heger, it’s in Disney’s best interest to keep work going for certain projects, especially if they’ve already been funded. And surely, a shiny new resort will beckon to both casual guests and DVC members alike in the aftermath of the extended closures. Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge is expected to open in 2022. For an aerial look at construction on the lakeside lodge
  13. I'd be willing to bet that those park hours will disappear for May before long. Keeping my fingers crossed for your June trip too! I think a June 1st opening is likely the soonest we'll see.
  14. For those interested, Joe Rohde is continuing to post his virtual AK tour on Instagram. There are a bunch of new posts since this thread started.
  15. For those of you local to WDW... https://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2020/04/speedway-gas-stations-near-disney.html?fbclid=IwAR2FaVkG9Cctq0XJZzCYAuZ4BUMPB7ynASEMWVZJkXGHDXKUgEfQSdY7l4g
  16. Universal has officially announced they will not open before May 31. This is from their FB page... Given that in most things, where either Universal or WDW goes, the other follows, I wouldn't be surprised if WDW stays closed through May also.
  17. In a related story, take this for what it's worth... https://wdwnt.com/2020/04/norway-and-germany-cultural-representative-programs-are-now-accepting-applications/?fbclid=IwAR057sxVc-FgQy_0ei8Jff0Jt1VcNYvCXEyH62gJq8SzkbvU7eqp_EIMrxk

  19. I could just spend the day (and night) wandering around Animal Kingdom without riding anything.
  20. Looking for a break from all the usual news and social media stuff, I ran across Imagineer Joe Rohde's Instagram account where he's currently giving something of a virtual tour of Animal Kingdom through photos and lots of backstory about the origins and design of the park. Great stuff! https://www.instagram.com/joerohde/
