  1. Yes, this! I don't know what makes anyone think that this is a good idea when there are a ton of other possible options. I will give you a dollar for a picture of that!
  2. O.M.G. that is both hilarious and disturbing. LOL I could do it at home, I used to all the time in my younger days, but it never came out anywhere near as good as the stylist I've been going to for the past 20+ year. For sure I'm not cutting my own hair. That just has "5 year old finds the scissors" disaster written all over it. 🤣 Fingers crossed for fall!! Disney's taken park hours off the site through 6/13 so far, and I've seen other reports of people's reservations cancelled the first 2 weeks of June. So assuming Universal's plans are approved (agree that's likel
  3. Um, if I'm going to go through the hassle of going to DS right now it's going to be for a really good meal, not kinda-decent pizza. DFB posted a review of their experience at Wine Bar George and it actually seemed pretty nice. They seem to have a system that's not super weird, anxious or COVID-y. And "George" himself was even there to greet people - from 6' away with his mask on of course. The oddest thing I saw yesterday was a photo someone posted of a family with 8 young kids (looked to be 2 adult women with them) who setup a hibachi on a table outside Cookes of Dublin and was grilling
  4. Hmm... sounds like the initial hubbub over "announcements" may have been optimistic at best. Completely agree!! Restaurants opened around here for outdoor dining this week, but I'll be sticking with takeout a little while longer. Hair salons reopened a week ago and heaven knows I need as my last appointment was in February, but I'm not rushing back just yet. I figure in a week or 2 I'll see where things are at and proceed accordingly. DH is surviving with my expert-level hair trimming skills (HAHAHAHA - thank goodness for hats) and I've got a pile of scrunchies and am pretendin
  5. Indeed! This is a huge Chinese restaurant up this way that's been around forever...
  6. That was not even a thing I'd thought of but yeah, I suppose that's a consideration now.
  7. We're just a few miles (as the crow flies) from Manchester NH airport. Southwest usually has a dozen-ish flights from MHT to MCO every day, a good number of them non-stop. We typically hear them coming and going from about 6am until 10pm+ (we notice mostly because Lyn isn't keen on planes). We were sitting outside last weekend and I couldn't remember the last time Lyn made a beeline for the backdoor because a plane was overhead. I just checked the Southwest site and they've got 4 tomorrow, only 1 is non-stop
  8. I haven't seen any pictures or videos that look to have anywhere near 100 people in them I did see this and all I could think of was "I don't know what store they're going into but no... just no."
  9. Could also be that Disney wants to let Universal be the guinea pig when it comes to park reopening.
  10. Agreed. They already saw back at the start of this that throwing possible dates out and then having to change them didn't go over well.
  11. Scanning through Twitter looking at pics and videos from WDWNT and DFB. Looks like handfuls of people here and there but nothing resembling "crowds". Have to say I was surprised by how many people were in Basin, but hey - soap!
  12. Meh. The parks are one thing, walking around a half (or less) open DS.... pass. Sure World of Disney will be open for people needing some kind of Disney fix, but do I want to dance around a bunch of other shoppers trying to socially-distance (or worse, not trying) or make faces every time I see someone touching all the plush Mickeys? Nope. Especially when you can get pretty much anything in that store online right now. And dining out just doesn't sound fun at all right now, even at DS.
  13. We still have a drive-in movie theater near here - I think it's the last one in the state and one of only a handful in New England. They play first run movies and we've been a bunch of times. The place is usually packed unless the weather is lousy. They reopened a week ago (reduced capacity so all cars are spread out) and sold out their first weekend in a flash. There's another in MA that's finally being allowed to reopen Monday. They've had their pretty robust snack bar open for takeout for a while now. They're celebrating the reopen for movies with a midnight (ok 12:01) movie Sunday
  14. I think I'd prefer the "stand here" option too. That said, if I were smarter I'd have gone opened a Giant Floor Sticker & Sign company a month ago. 😎
  15. Universal wasn't letting anyone into City Walk without one either. Agreed. I can see people maybe going to DS for dining, but I can't imagine a lot of folks wanting to go through the rigamarole just to go shopping there. And with so much still closed and no entertainment, I don't see a huge draw for crowds.
  16. Interesting! Seems like a heckuva long ride to just drop off some crew. Any other reason they might be headed that way?
  17. Heading down to the Keys right now sounds fabulous! And totally with you on not being keen on crowded spaces right now. I'd be very surprised.
  18. The nerve! 😎 I think unless someone on the construction team leaks something (which doesn't seem to happen), or someone manages to sneak a drone up and over, we may not see anything more until either Disney announces it or the resorts open. Even the big blog sites aren't managing to get any pics of anything at this point other than driving around the property. Too bad we didn't know that guy that camped out on Discovery Island. We could have hired him to hop in that boat he allegedly confiscated and snagged some pics for us. LOL
  19. Interesting! I think someone posted that 3 of the ships were in Port Canaveral very recently. I guess they didn't stay for long. Moving crew around makes sense, especially if they're not going to be taking passengers out anytime soon. That's a heckuva a "lift home". 🙂
