  1. Not sure if this info will be helpful - the thread I found it in is pretty old - but there was mention that someone used him in 2016...

Park Hopper Option Returns to Walt Disney World Resort Starting January 2021

    Avery Maehrer

by Avery Maehrer, Manager of Communications, Walt Disney World Resort

As the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort continues, we are nearing another exciting milestone we know many guests have been looking forward to: the return of the Park Hopper option! Starting Jan. 1, 2021, guests who purchased a ticket or annual pass with Park Hopper benefits will be able to visit more than one park per day, with some new modifications as part of our ongoing focus on health and safety.

With the updated Park Hopper experience, guests must make a Disney Park Pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit AND enter that first park prior to visiting another. At this time, a park reservation is not required after the first park, however, reservation requirements are subject to change.

Additionally, we will set specific Park Hopper hours during which this option will be available. Park Hopper hours will start at 2 p.m. each day and end at the park’s scheduled close time. Guests will soon be able to check DisneyWorld.com/ParkHours and the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date Park Hopper hours, as they could start earlier at a later date, depending on the day and park.

These modifications are designed to help us continue managing attendance in a way that fosters physical distancing. Additionally, other enhanced health and safety measures remain in effect, including face coverings required for all guests ages two and up.

As a reminder, guests with a ticket or pass that includes Park Hopper benefits get the chance to see and do more during their visit, which could mean a morning on the savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and an evening stroll by Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park or starting the day living your Star Wars adventure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios before an afternoon traveling around the world at EPCOT. Please note that the ability to visit another park will be subject to the park’s capacity limitations.

If you have any questions, you may visit our Know Before You Go page on DisneyWorld.com, call the Disney Reservation Center, contact your travel professional or reach out to planDisney to get helpful tips and information on your upcoming Disney vacation.

We look forward to starting the new year with the return of this guest favorite option!

  3. I'd read that Disney had filed liens back in September against money owed.  Just read this...

BREAKING: Disney Officially Taking Ownership of All Morocco Pavilion Businesses at EPCOT

The Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT has made a number of headlines in the aftermath of COVID-19, as few pavilions have been so publicly affected by the pandemic’s devastating impact. After a number of internal issues, Walt Disney World will officially be assuming operations of all Morocco Pavilion businesses at EPCOT, including all food & beverage and merchandise locations.

Back in April, Marrakesh Moroccan Restaurant, LLC. filed for a PPP loan of $1-2 million in order to retain 260 jobs through the funds acquired. In September, Walt Disney World filed a UCC Financing Statement, or a type of lien with the state, claiming collateral against “All goods, inventory, the Furnishings, and all other items of personal property belonging to Debtor which are or may be put into the Facilities and all proceeds of the foregoing.” Now, it seems the company is moving forward with a mutual agreement to transition operations to Disney, with a goal of assuming all operations by the end of the year. The pavilion sent out termination notices to its Cast Members through an internal memo late last month, as we learned through sources.

There is a lot of bitterness among the fired/laid off cast, i don't think a lot of them will even want to go back to WDW.

I don't know if it is alright to post this here so, if not, take it down.

Some of the let go cast have created a face book page to support each other and to hopefully sell some of their wares/services.

The name of the group is "ear for each other".  It is a public page but only the fired cast are allowed to sell on it. Anyone can buy from it.  We all can comment and buy.   I believe there are cast from both coasts involved.

Thanks for sharing this Gretchen. I think most of us here have had visits to WDW made all the more magical by terrific CMs, and I'm all for a way to give back and help support them now.

Along the same lines I found this...

In the wake of this news, we’ve seen a surge of support that’s truly heartwarming. And recently, Jessica and Ashleigh of The Theme Parkettes Podcast compiled an INCREDIBLE spreadsheet of resources for Cast Members, including an ongoing list of Cast Member-run businesses and projects we can support!

Click here to access the spreadsheet!

The document is for Cast Members, former Cast Members, and fans of Cast Members, filled with info ranging from Venmo donations and Amazon Wishlists to various Etsy shops run by Cast Members!

Carlye Wisel has also put out a call to action on Twitter, encouraging Cast Members to share info on personal businesses, as a way to drum up support.

She’s received a stream of responses and continues to share resources, including this EPIC doc that @themeparkettes put together! It’s wonderful to see the power of social media being used for GOOD! If you have the ability to support in any way, this is an amazing way to help out the Cast Members that have created so much magic for us and other guests.

The one thing I'd caution people when it comes to donations is to make sure you know who you're donating to.  Unfortunately when bad things happen there are always awful people looking to take advantage.  Be sure to do a little homework to make sure your $ is going where you really want it to.

One more thing- if any of you Disney lovers out there think this won’t affect you, think again. Disney is firing performers who are irreplaceable, and has decimated its Guest Relations staff. The things that distinguished Disney from a Six Flags amusement park are all but gone. The current management thinks guests won’t care.  We are all in for a rude awakening.

    TCD

    It's not just Disney either.

I know first hand how other companies are using the current situation as an excuse to thin their ranks/cut services, in particular when it comes to higher paid employees. I totally get that when your business takes a big financial hit you need to make changes and get leaner to survive, but what I'm seeing myself is going beyond that to the point that the work/sales have rebounded considerably in the past couple of months, yet no staffing back up is taking place.  Instead the employees that are left are being expected to pick up the slack - sometimes by holes left by 2-3 other people that are now gone.  And not surprisingly it's the more senior (read: higher paid) employees being cut, and in some cases replaced by new hires with little to no experience.  But so goes the way of the corporate world these days...

If they don't get California opened soon, it is going to get much worse.

Sadly I agree this is very true.

  6. I'm really sorry to hear that TCD. I've been in that "you gave a company your heart, soul and loyalty for years only to get dropped like a hot potato" seat before and it really does stings.  Throw the fact that the company is Disney and all that means to them as well, and I'm sure it hurts all the more.

I hope they're both able to put their skills and all they've learned over the years to use with new jobs and companies that will truly appreciate them.
