They are planning where to set off the sink hole that will swallow the Fort.   This will save them on demolition costs and speed up the River Country DVC project.   It will get rid of those undesireab

Construction is supposed to start in about 1 to 2 weeks at the "old" 3 way..They are going to add a walkway to the right (as you face the Settlement) that will merge about 20 to 30 feet past the stop

They are just about ready to pour that walkway. Also seeing lots of surveyors, construction stakes around the 700 and 800 loops.

It starts today. Good thing we have a "small crowd".

Any word on how long this project will take?

No, but knowing how paving crews work with good weather I'll guess it should be done this week. There is also good news the tree and island by 100/400 is NOT coming out.

Couple pics. ava8edyr.jpgsa3e2yra.jpgMore to follow.

We have reservations for a preferred site starting Thursday and have requested the 200 loop.  Usually they direct us down N Big Pine Rd, and then we turn right into the 100/200 loops.  I wonder if they'll have everybody heading down the middle, where we'd turn left into the loops.

How are they handling people checking in or out from the preferred loops?

A couple units had to pull into 400 and drive straight across so it wouldn't scuff with the wheels turning, but you can drive on it as soon as the roller hits it. Cars have gone in and out, no probem.

Thanks for the photo Dave.

I know it's dumb, but I'm really happy the tree got to stay.

So is the widening project for the cart path to the settlement done? Is that all they're going to do?

There is supposed to be more work coming, but it is still in the design stage. The beauracracy around here is worse than the Government.

So where's today's update?

Just got back.

I'm really happy the tree got to stay too!

Indeed!  Who'd have thought that photos of paving projects at the Fort could be so awesome in the middle of this endless winter?

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date, Dave!  :)

Yes, thank you, Dave!
