Well, Thanks.

I am glad some folks got to see my farewell post.

And, I am looking forward to more TCD trip reports too!

Yuri, not so much.

Hello Deb!

You will be getting a shout-out in just a bit in this report.

This is the trip where I stopped by for a little visit when you were talking to the Mayor.

Thanks.

Man, you got some fancy smileys there, don't ya?

I continue to be astounded at the decisions being made "over there." Speaking for myself, I have no desire to be hostile to anyone. The success of our site is entirely independent of the success of th

OK, stand back. DaveinTN has requested an update, and By Golly, he's going to get one! I've got 30 new photos loaded, so let's knock this one out! It's still Saturday morning. I have been away from th

Yes. I’m back. It’s really me. I was just taking a break. For those of you who are not familiar with me, I do that from time to time. In this case, I have taken a permanent break from the place where

TCD! The Man the Myth The Legend! I am glad you made it here my friend! I have to say I truly enjoy your trip reports and admire the relationship you have with the girls! I hope to meet you in person one of these days at the Fort and treat you to a dole whip!

Dole Whip?

Treat?

You are my new BFF!

Let me know when you will be at the Fort!

I won't bother introducing myself. You might remember who I am. Then again you might not. I went down in the first flush but not before I had the honor of reading your farewell speech. A masterpiece! (Only rivaled by FW Guy's farewell)

Glad to finally get a TCD TR fix! I love the Jesus Deer. Go Feisty! The Shrek decor is fab! Looking forward to the rest of the report!

Hey KFK-

I'm glad to see that there is a future trip for the KFK gang there in your ticker!

***sigh***

I am in my happy place!! ;D

Can't wait to read more!

Gee, thanks.

How about a moonwalking banana for old times sake?

Thanks for doing a TR! Looking forward to the pics and the cool "little things" that you always notice!

I assume we are going to get a Dole Whip lesson at some point?

Thanks.

And, sorry, but there will be no Dole Whip lessons.

Everybody here is smart enough to figure out how to make a Dole Whip (with one notable exception).

:annce: TCD Has arrived and doing a TR! I am a Happy Happy man.

Thanks.

Do you go with KFK? Or are you some other dude from SC?

So far so good.

I see that we are generating a good number of views.

And, thanks for all of the comments.

Let's move along with this report!

We left off with my return trip to the 2000 loop via the 900 loop bridge.

And, here we are on the path on the 900 loop which leads to the bridge:

100_9045.jpg

100_9046.jpg

Here is the aforementioned bridge:

100_9047.jpg

Here we are on the bridge looking at the ditch. If you followed the path you see to the right of the ditch, you would be walking in the pet walk area behind the 800 loop:

100_9048.jpg

After crossing the bridge, we find ourselves in the group camping area. There are quite a few campers here this weekend:

I caught a firewood deal going down:

100_9053.jpg

Just off to my left, I find the path that leads to the 2000 loop:

The path comes out here on the 2000 loop. If you look just to the left of the pop-up bunk end on the right of the second photo below, you will see the interior 2000 loop comfort station in the background:

100_9058.jpg

100_9059.jpg

There is a sidewalk that cuts across the loop right next to this comfort station:

100_9060.jpg

Here is the 2000 loop tetherball court:

100_9061.jpg

And, here we are heading back to 2009. There are my party animal friends on the right:

100_9062.jpg

The girls were finally stirring when I arrived back at camp.

It is time for a little morning looping.

Which is exactly what we did next.

On that trip we had an animal encounter.

I have some interesting photos to share from that in my next post.

Woo - Hoo.....with a capital WOO and a capital HOO. The man is back from a self imposed hiatus.

You probably don't remember me from the old site, but it wasn't the same without your content. As someone earlier posted, "your TRs make me feel like I'm there." While I didn't get flushed, I got my hands slapped at the old place. I missed yours and FWGuy's farewell addresses (which bums me out quite a bit - I bet they were dousy's).

Here's to the possible return of the "TCD Real Men of Genius" candidates.

Glad you're back Dude!

"Possible" return of the TCDRMOG award?

Scratch the "possible!"

If TCD is writing a trip report, there are two things you can always count on:

1. There will be photos of site 617.

and

2. There will be a TCDRMOG award.

You can take that to the bank!

Second all of that. And also looking forward to the TCD RMoG Awards. Always brings a smile to my day. :)

:) :) :) :) :)

Well, then, please keep reading.

Because this trip's winner will be announced soon.

I found him on Saturday morning.

In the 1500 loop.

I joined voldermort right before the flush happened, so this is actually my first "live as written" report. The old ones don't have the cliffhanger aspect like this one does, I can just see what happens and don't have to wait. Thanks again.

Best Regards,

Norm

OK, got ya.

These TCD trip reports are interactive.

You can ask any question, and it will be answered.

You can hijack to your hear't's content.

Well, it seems that most of you have read a TCD trip report before.

And, even if you haven't, you may have noticed that there are plenty of photos.

That's my thing.

Quantity.

Not quality.

And this post will be provide a perfect illustration.

I mentioned an animal encounter on our first looping excursion of Saturday morning.

More specifically we had a bird encounter.

And, even more specifically we had a turkey encounter.

As we entered the 1700 loop, we noticed a turkey herd.

Or is it gaggle?

Or flock?

Or posse?

I don't know.

Let's just say there was a group of turkeys.

Naturally, I needed a photo.

So, I took a few.

OK, more than a few.

Actually, more than a dozen.

I thought maybe one would be a great shot.

But, it ends up that I was wrong about that.

Instead of me choosing, I will just let you see them all.

No complaining.

You get what you pay for.

So, here we go.

What you are about to see is 14 turkey photos.

Don't say I didn't warn you:

100_9064.jpg

100_9065.jpg

100_9066.jpg

100_9067.jpg

100_9068.jpg

100_9069.jpg

100_9071.jpg

100_9072.jpg

100_9073.jpg

100_9074.jpg

100_9075.jpg

Whew!

I told you so.

But, wait there's more!

That was only 12.

It only seemed like 14.

At least these last two are different.

These last two are of a turkey butt!:

100_9076.jpg

100_9077.jpg

Luckily for you, this post will contain a one turkey-free photo.

And, here it is:

100_9078.jpg

This is a photo taken from just inside the 1700 loop, looking toward the loop entrance. You can see that the last campsite on the loop has a covered wagon set up in front of it. This apparently was the ringleader of a group called the Northern Pioneers. From what I hear, they take over most of the full hook up loops for several weeks each winter. I would imagine at least a few of them must have computers, and maybe even one of them is reading this report. If you are a Northern Pioneer give me a shout out! I'd like to hear more about your group.

Back to the turkeys . . .

You might think you have seen enough turkey photos to last you for a while.

But, in case you haven't, here's a photo of Chip and Dale with the turkeys in the background:

100_9079.jpg

And, you will be happy to hear that this is my very last turkey photo for this report:

100_9080.jpg

I know what you are thinking.

You are thinking TCD has got to be the luckiest guy around.

But, things are not always as they seem.

Finding those turkeys was a bad thing.

First, they were hard to catch.

And, then there was all of the feather plucking.

What a pain that is.

And, then I had to cook them all.

Which, as you may know, takes a long time.

My turkey leg stand did pretty good business with the 2000 loop party animals.

But, gosh, we sure had a lot of leftovers.

A man can only eat so much turkey hash.

KWIM?

Next up, we continue on our morning looping excursion.

And find our Real Man of Genius in the 1500 loop.

I love the turkey pictures. My dd works for a Land Conservancy and has to go out to their property and take nature photos. The wild turkeys follow her around the whole. :rofl2: That male was really strutting his stuff, and who doesn't love a picture of a turkey butt

TCD I would love to read your farewell post. Can you post it here?

Todd- I was very disappointed and a bit angry when I made that post. That is in the past, and I see no reason to discuss it. As far as I am concerned, nothing has changed except the address of the website where I post.

And this place has awesome owners and webmasters.

As you know, there are great folks here.

One of the reasons I stayed away for a while is that I do not want to be a part of anything negative.

So, i am not going to go there.

The past is in the past.

When I see all your pictures it makes me realize just how much of the Fort I haven't seen. When I get there in July I will be doing a lot more exploring

You ain't seen nothing yet.

As I mentioned earlier, on this trip I ventured into a part of the Fort which even I have never visited.

And found something pretty cool.

Read on.

Read on.

I would like to read it as well

See my response to Discamper, above.

The past will stay in the past.

OK, good.

Got it.

Got to keep the Fiends straight.

. . . and who doesn't love a picture of a turkey butt

True.

Suddenly I'm in the mood for Turkey and Dressing. I can't expalain it. I wonder if Fort Turkeys taste better than average turkeys.

Ok I'm ready for the next helping of your report.

Yes, the Fort turkeys taste much better than store bought.

But, not enough to make it worth the effort.

Trust me on that.

OK - I admit it! I've never read a TCD TR before! :o I claim extenuating circumstances.

1. I was flushed from the DISrespectful Board in 2006 - long before the FortFiend Flush;

2. This year was the first time I actually stayed at The Fort undecided.gif

3. The first place I went for information about The Fort was FortFiends.net ... and there was no TCD.

With that said, I am really enjoying the TR  - especially the wildlife!

And a tip . . .

Don't just look at the pictures.

There is some good stuff buried in the text.

Hopefully, I'll meet up with you one of these days at the Fort.

Until then, enjoy the report.

TCD & turkey butts................LIFE IS GOOD! :suspense:

Thanks, Stephanie.

Well put.

So, this trip report was started just 24 hours ago.

And, currently the stats show 796 views.

Which makes it the second-most read trip report in the short history of this board.

And gaining on the most-read trip report.

Which is yours!

I've got you in my sights!

This baby is going way past the thousand view mark!

Way to go Fiends!

And, this report is just getting started!
