  1. I'm having issues posting on my phone, so I can't quote anolefan. I didn't keep reading, so if this question has been answered, feel free to ignore. :-) I have a canon rebel g 35mm camera. I develop my film at Walgreens. They can put your pictures on a CD. Wal-mart does it, too, but they take a week vs Walgreens hour. As for the TR, I'm loving it! Must get back to reading. :-)
  2. I have a friend who attended Bonnaroo. I think it was a graduation present or something... Alison Krauss back with Union Station? That is, in fact, pretty awesome!
  3. Oh, dear! There needs to be a warning for that picture! :rofl2:
  4. Well, I always hate to see things go up in smoke... As for your last installment, I loved that last picture of the Meadows reflecting in the water. Very pretty. On our October trip, I showed DH your favorite campsite. I meant to take a picture of it, but, for some reason, never did. DH wished that they'd left some of the food unattended. I told him if he was that hungry, that I'd buy him a Mickey bar. :D
  5. I did take notes. I'm scatter-brained, lately. As for hemp, it's a variation of cannabis (i.e. marijuana). The THC levels in industrial hemp aren't high enough to, well, get you high. Actually, I believe that the chemical make-up of it counters a marijuana high, but I'm not positive on that. It's definitely not illegal to buy. When I was in high school, I bought several necklace/bracelet kits that were made from hemp. At any rate, even if you could smoke hemp, why would you smoke your shoes? Seems kinda silly. But, hey, at least we weren't playing accordions. Now, on to the rest of your
  6. Did I really get in on just the third page? Go me. I did take notes so that I didn't miss anything. This pregnancy brain is getting the best of me. Let's see... Hate to hear that you got started late. That seems to be the norm for us, and it always stinks. Especially at the end of the driving when you're saying to yourself, "I could have been there already!". We've never managed to stay in the 1500 Loop. We were assigned 1501? (the site directly by the bus stop) in 2004. The only problem was that my confirmation was for a preferred site. I never did understand that. We were told that
  7. That thought crossed my mind, as well. If it's going to be open by the 16th, though, would they have time to remove the shells? Would they even want to? I don't blame you. I'd want to be able to put my awning out, as well.
  8. That is interesting. Hopefully everyone will follow the rules and not sPoil it for others. As for the partial loops (1500 & 2000), Carol is right, as usual. They are not pet loops. I believe that TCD mentioned in one of his trip reports that he booked a partial, showed up with Rocky, and just paid the extra pet fee (Is there an additional charge for pets? I don't remember hearing one, but something makes me think that he had mentioned $5 or something). I think he was in the 1500 loop. All that is if my memory serves me correctly.
  9. Just saw in the Faxing Request thread that the loop was closed for repaving of the pads. Thanks!
  10. My brother, SIL, and niece are set to arrive at the Fort in the next few weeks. He called CRO today and was told that the 100 Loop will be closed until the 16th. Has anyone heard of this? Does anyone know what's going on?
  11. We stayed in 2000 last time, but prior to that, we've always stayed in a preferred site. Our current reservation is for preferred, as well. I remember when preferred was 100-500, then they changed it to include several other loops. I actually like the fact that preferred is now 100-300.
  12. We've never used the dining plan, but we have considered it. Food prices are most definitely high, but I'm not sure about the quality. There was such a long break in my trip from 97 to 04 that I really don't remember what the food was like beforehand. I do know that I used to like TE's dinner buffet, but now it makes me sick (for whatever reason). I used to hate Pecos Bill's, but that was back when I thought all they served was plain burgers. Dad always wanted to eat there, and we always were supposed to go sit with Mom while my dad ordered. He never bothered to get anything from the fixi
  13. Love the TR! I haven't had TE pizza since 97...maybe even 89. I remember it tasting like cardboard and ketchup. Maybe I'll try it again. It did look good. Love the pics of the mother-ship...err...the unique RV. You can tell that the guy spent a lot of time, money, and effort for the desired effect. What a cute picture of your son on the sign from when he was little. Nothing better than celebrating your birthday at the Fort!
  14. Too bad we couldn't make it. I'd love to meet you guys. Looks like everyone had a blast! Thanks for posting the pictures. :)
  15. Yes. I mean, yes I was born in May 1981. Not yes as in you're old. Thanks! Ok, Lou, you're not helping me out here. Just sayin'... Okay, I'll just repeat lots and lots of times..."They've never fallen before. They've never fallen before..." Thanks! Happy Early Birthday to you! I'm actually enjoying 30, thus far. :) Thought about saying something snarky, but I'm not quick enough this early in the morning. lol
  16. I'm behind, already! Let's see... I remember the Shoe Tree, although I'm not sure that we've got pictures of it. I had never heard the story behind it, though. Pretty cool. I still don't like BLT. Maybe I just haven't been to the Fort enough to get used to it. I should remedy that. After all, more visits couldn't hurt, right? We do have pictures of the Flag Retreat from our 82 trip, I think. I don't believe that we've watched it since. I'll have to put that on a list of things to do. It's kinda cool about the water bridges. Unfortunately, my dad passed along his bridge phobia to me.
  17. Thanks for the birthday wishes! Also thanks for saving a spike for my dad. I won't be back down there until December 2012. That's over two years without a Fort Fix. My brother and SIL will be down there in about 4 or 5 weeks, though. Ah, the lettuce and tomatoes. Once upon a time, they had a thing called Figaro Fries. Figaro Fries consisted of bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and ranch sauce. In 2008 (I think), they removed the lettuce, tomatoes, and ranch, and called them loaded fries. I had heard that there were issues with ordering them with lettuce and tomato, but I tho
  18. The threat of a bunch of clowns in the 2000 loop is what convinced me to book a preferred site on our next trip. Kinda like those loops, anyway.
  19. Wow! I disappear for awhile, and what do I come back to? A TCD Trip Report! And two days before my birthday. Pretty thoughtful, if I do say so, myself. Did I really just read all 22 pages? Yes, yes I did. I should've taken notes. There are things that I was going to comment on. I will forget things. I know it. But, let's see... The 2000 Loop. We stayed there back in November, if you recall from my TR. What? You don't remember my TR? All 6 pages of it? That's okay. I barely remember it. Anywho, we stayed in 2007. It was nice except for the kids playing flashlight tag on my sit
