  1. I had originally thought the hub, but I couldn't place the trees with the hub I remember (my memories are foggy from the late 80s/early 90s trips). I figured it must've been off to the side with a side-view shot of the castle through the trees, but you guys are absolutely right. It is the hub.
  2. And that also explains something else. I have pictures of the 3 o'clock parade from that trip. It's a patriotic theme, which I never understood because we weren't there for the 4th. Now, I know.
  3. Well, there ya go. We never even considered that. We kept trying to think what 200 would have to do with Disney.
  4. We were watching it. Mom has some cool pictures of the floats and the band. Seems as though I thought the characters were pretty amazing.
  5. Thanks. And you're welcome. Yep, that's my dad. He was in his late 20's at the time.
  6. I had my mom email me the picture. When I said 100, I really meant 200. Looks like we're in the Magic Kingdom. Tomorrowland, maybe? It must've been taken in 1987, because I think I got my camera and camera bag for my 6th birthday.
  7. Well, those turned out larger than anticipated. Moving along.
  8. Will do. In the mean time, enjoy some 100% original pictures of pictures of YG circa 1982:
  9. I just finished looking through the entire thread. Gold star for me. I need to take some pictures of pictures next time I go to Mom and Dad's. They have tons of pictures from 1980 and on. I'll post the picture later, but there's one of my dad, my brother, and me at one of the parks. I'm going to guess it was 86. We're sitting in front of a topiary in the shape of the number "100". We can't figure out what it was for. I think a black car may have been in it, as well. I'll have to look again...
  10. I've looked at those pictures before, but I have to say, I never get tired of looking at them. Awesome job!
  11. That's a good point about the tent from Walmart. Not sure about choosing All Stars, though. We got stuck at the Poly one year when we had issues with our tow vehicle. We were less than thrilled, although in hindsight, we probably should've at least tried to enjoy it as opposed to being put-out that we couldn't be at the campground.
  12. We've stayed in preferred sites (before and after they re-categorized everything) and the 2000 loop. The 2000 loop trip was during October when it should've been quiet. We had loud neighbors that included kids who thought flashlight tag through our site was acceptable behavior. Had to bust out my teacher voice on that one... I'm not saying the 2000 loop is always like that, although I have heard some similar/worse stories, and I'm not saying that can't happen in the other loops. However, we won't be chancing it again.
  13. We always stay in the preferred loops (ok, almost always. We tent camped in 2000 once). We've even tent camped in a preferred loop on several occasions. Does it cut down on a lot of walking? We think so. My dad has knee problems, so he tries to cut down on walking when he can. Maybe if we actually calculated the amount of walking, it wouldn't add up to much of a savings. But, it seems like it, so we choose preferred. We love staying in huge Settlement area, anyway.
  14. We stayed overnight there twice coming back from Disney. Seemed okay to me.
  15. It's expensive, but I'd do it once. Star Wars and Disney are my two favorite things, so this would be perfect.
  16. Do I still get bragging rights for this page? O.o Sounds like you all had a great Spring break! We love the 100 loop. It's our favorite by far. FoF parade looks really cool. It's a must for our October trip. I admit it - you had me with the bat letter. I'm slow on the uptake and didn't catch on until the TSMM FP. Good job! Florida played a good game against UK for the SEC championship. Hoping for a rematch pretty soon for the NCAA championship. Whatever Coach Cal did to tweak the cats, I'm glad he finally did it. Better late than never!
  17. I had wondered about that, too. We're debating on getting a motorhome in the next couple of years, and M would still be in a car seat. I'm not really sure what the actual laws are, but I've heard the following strong recommendations: - Car seat has to be buckled in a forward facing seat. No rear-facing dinette bench or side-facing couch. - Car seat installed in a seat that is mounted to metal frame. Not sure that helps, or not.
  18. I read that as pregnancy drop in clinic. Lol Hope your son feels better soon! Ear infections are no fun.
  19. Awesome! I can't believe I'll be there this time next week! :) What are Out of this World and Wilderness Explorer friends?
  20. I just spent the better part of my morning reading your TR. Good job! Looks like y'all had fun. Random thoughts: - Anna is absolutely adorable! - Nice kazoo. :) - They should totally bring back Melvin's show. - MSEP does not SMB. Spectro, however, does. Big time. - I was getting all excited about waffles with maple butter and candied pecans. The fact that they're no longer there does SMB.
  21. I have pictures of me in front of the cake castle. In theory, the idea was good. In actuality, it was a monstrosity. WDW definitely needs Star Wars Land. I will not be happy if they build it in CA instead.
  22. The public is stupid. I've read some of stupidguesttricks.com previously. It's actually kind of funny. Good TR!
