Sounds like you're talking about Fancy Gap on I-77 at the NC/VA state line. It is Interstate and a good road and very scenic on a nice clear, sunshiny day. At the top it's about 2900 ft so weather at the bottom of the hill is not usually as nice at the top. It's not a place I want to drive at night, when there is fog, rain or snow...been there, done that...in both car and motorhome many times.

Great TR! We've tried to get into Jetty Park many times but it's always full. Looking forward to more of your report.

Thank you for the nice compliment. Taken with my little Nikon S8100 pocket camera. To find this view go back into the Mickey's BBQ "waiting area", stand on top of a golf cart, and shoot over the fence which surrounds River Country. -
How important are our pets?

Our little guys will always be our babies. Eight years ago when DH's job started sending him out of town for extended period of time we decided that it was time to get a motorhome to accommodate them and keep the family together while we traveling around the southeast. Our daughter dogsat once while we went took a cruise but it caused too much stress for all of us so the motorhome is the only way to go. Like Doodle they are snuggled in with me now checking out the pics of the flying Chi and Lyn. Later they will be tucked in bed with us...somehow or other they always get the biggest share out o -
Not to be a "party pooper"...but...if you ever have a breakdown by the side of the road (especially with eight people) you will be glad to have at least enough water in your tanks to allow for toilet flushing and hand washing. Also, if you let your black tank dries up it will be much more difficult to clean out. To me not having water onboard is kind of like suffering in the heat because when you run the A/C your MPG goes down. Besides, have you seen some of those bathrooms at rest areas??? :barf: Even after cleaning with a whole bottle of Lysol it would not be enough to convenience me to let

I've been working with Rhonda to get the AP discount for our Halloween trip. She says that yesterday it wasn't showing AP discounts available for anything except tent sites. Today is was showing a few discounts but only in early November on preferred sites. She indicated that since Disney doesn't have any problem keeping the Fort full they don't really need to give AP discounts. There isn't even any AAA discounts either. :argh:

That is just beautiful! -
We saw this motorhome come into the Fort ... the owners were behind it driving their tow car. If you look closely at the tow truck you can see it's from Lake City, FL :dropjaw: Apparently they were so anxious to get to the Fort they just decided to get towed and then get repaired later! Wonder if they had CoachNet??? Must have cost a fortune for that tow!

We over-nighted at Coastal RV in June. Park is still new and trees are small so no interference with satellite...just don't expect any shade. Steady electrical voltage, hookups are all on one pedestal placed about mid-way of the pull thru. Only a couple miles off I-95 so it is quiet. Nice long pull thru sites...the ones along the lake/pond are back-ins only. Room to put out your awning. Bushes between each site so you don't feel like you are sitting on top of your neighbor. Bathrooms/showers very clean, clean pool (not large but adequate) and grounds nicely mowed and tended. You can fish in th
