  2. Tom...that looks like this one we saw in May at the Fort by the parking lot. I think somebody said it was a red shoulder hawk??
  3. Here is a link to Disney's info for Guests with Mobility Disabilities...CLICK HERE For buses, it states that "the wheelchair must fit the wheelchair lift without being forced: the standard bus lift is 32 inches x 48 inches" If Disney follows ADA guidelines then the wheelchair, including any attached baskets/bags, must fit into a 30"W x 48"L box. I think there is a weight limit too (500 lbs?) but I'm not sure and couldn't find a reference to it anywhere. When you meet with the scooter reps try out both the three and four wheel models. Sometimes they have demo units that they will let you "try o
  4. Walt Disney World Fun Facts It's Not a Small World, After All . . . Covering nearly 39 square miles, Walt Disney World Resort is about the size of San Francisco or two Manhattan islands. Of the nearly 25,000 acres, a third is designated as a wilderness preserve. A Cast of Thousands . . . more than 58,000 to be more precise. That’s how many people it takes to create the magic at the Vacation Kingdom. Not surprisingly, Walt Disney World Resort is the largest single-site employer in the United States. What the Well-Dressed Mouse Will Be Wearing . . . depends entirely on the occasion. Mickey Mouse
  5. Or Plan C..... A little here and there as the Astros Orbiter goes round...... :rofl2:
  6. My kitty is 17. She started traveling with us when she was 10. It took a couple trips but she loves it now and has her favorite perch looking out the window when we're parked. After you get a clean bill of health from the vet you might try to do some short trial runs around the local area to try and get her more accustomed to traveling in a carrier....after all...the most kitty has probably been in a carrier is to go to the vets? So maybe she associates travel with going to the vet? If you decided to leave her home you might want to think about leaving both kitties at home. They have been tog
  7. Hey Craig....if you put hitch on back of TT would that be considered as a triple tow? I think that would be illegal in some states? Would a ramp up into the TT and store inside when on the road or ramp up into the back of your truck work?
  8. We stayed for a month at Cajun, BUT, it was before Katrina hit the area. We enjoyed it then and the owners were very nice. After Katrina they got filled up with FEMA trailers. I understand that after all the trailers were removed they rebuilt the grounds nicer than before and you now have direct views of the gulf. Of course, all these parks have one thing in common....TRAIN NOISE!
  9. I found a couple places that sell the sparkly transfer paper...do you think this is what that mother used? June Taylor Paper Purple Chimp Both can be used with an ink jet printer on light color material. Then you cut out and apply with heat to shirt. It looks like they are the same paper but the one from AC Moore is 2x the price of the June Taylor order direct. But then you have to pay shipping. Really expensive as you only get two 8 1/2 x 11 sheets. AC Moore has coupons in the newspaper ads and sometimes online for 40% off regular prices. There is also a sparkle vinyl which is thicker, you c
  10. Thought everybody might be interested to learn that there is now some sort of ID checking going on at the pool. :yay: Check out this thread on RV.net... http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25118381.cfm
  11. Ok..here are a few things to think about and this comes from personal experience...(sorry, this is long-winded) Insurance: In order for most insurance companies to pay for durable goods your doctor will need to write a script. Take this to your mobility store and all/or a portion of the cost will usually be covered. However, some companies will not cover anythimg else for mobility issues once you get a chair/scooter. For instance..if you need a walker but already have a scooter the insurance company will "assume" you already had a walker to improve your mobility issues and no longer need one.
  12. Love the TR....we left this morning....Waaaaaa! BTW....nice pics...what camera are you using? :rofl2:
  13. The pool was packed on Saturday. Sunday, when we saw it later in the day, was about 1/2 the amount of Saturday. At the Meadows Trading Post there were so many cars that we saw three parked in between the trees. I can't tell you if the people were locals using the pool or not. Security was posted at each of the entrances but I didn't see them checking any IDs. Stefa70 has some pictures she will post when she gets home. Tri-B
  14. Looks like it was a wonderful trip. Nice pictures! Thanks for the TR. Maine is one of the places we want to visit too. Tri-B
  15. Here is the last of the fire pictures.... (BTW, the whole area, including Bay Lake, was covered in a smokey haze last night... Apparently there was a fire in Osceola County yesterday and the smoke was blowing in our direction.) The fire road going into swamp. Note the fire hose running down the left then right into the woods. Sprinklers still running to keep the area damp. This is why they need the fire hose. Close up of trees that got singed and burned. Looks like the fire was closer than most people knew. Tri-B
  16. I have heard the story about Walt Disney and Shipwreck Island from a couple of CMs on the boats. I also heard stories about CMs in training having driven boats aground on the island and so it was called Shipwreck Island. I tend to agree with TCD in that it's a lot of BS. Tri-B
  17. We were just down in that area. Like Tigger reported, there are no more Disney popo or RCFD vehicles in the area. The gate to where they made the fire break is open and we saw some guys in a gator go down into the area. You can also see "sprinklers" working to keep the area damp. I have pics and will post them later. The group area is full. The 2000 loop has about 6 empty sites but nobody is hanging out in the road and everything looks neat and tidy Tri-B
  18. Okay....we tried this yesterday. It was, well.....just kinda okay...mediocre in my and DH's book. No real taste to it and mushy. It had roasted color but no roasted smell. And FRIED in oil...not my style. Give me ROASTED any day! We agree with the review above and the fact that boiled or roasted would be much healthier for you. They also sell BOILED hot dogs and throw them on a plain bun...ketchup and mustard available. Tri-B
