Do any of you remember years ago when the MK would be closed to more people entering? I think it was because the main parking lots were full.  That was back in the days before any other parks were built and fewer hotel rooms were available on property.  Now so many rooms with transportation included so the main parking lots don't fill up.  
Cram as many $$$$$ oops guests in as possible is the way it works now.

I rather they just up the price. Seems to me they are insulting their customer's intelligence by trying to hide a price increase via a product reduction.

Yowsa!!  The price puts them about on par with the Poly villas, but those have a sweet view of MK and are actually out over the water. 
I think if someone drops a bag of cash on my head I'll go with the Poly.

Edward cooked a big batch the other day with some sweet cornbread! It was enough that we have two batches in the freezer ready to go!

That was also the first time Brian made her a margarita.  I can still see her face when she took a sip.  LOL!!

I remember that year, too.
I remember that Mama had a name for the EZ-ups with walls- like the walls of Jericho or something (but that isn't it).  She was always sitting out there smiling any time I looped by.

I know I'm totally biased but I agree 100%! 
His parents booked a nice dinner at Citricos one night and were going to bring him to the kids club at the Poly. He LOVED it there last fall and wanted to go back, but this time around he asked if it was an option to hang out with us at the Fort instead - of course it is!
Also high on his list is "riding around a lot in the golf cart with Uncle B". 
Oh we are going to have sooooo much fun with him!!  

I received an email from bank of America with information on waiving all kinds of fees,  including overdraft.  They also said to contact them to increase credit lines or to discuss payment arrangements for loans etc. They are also donating a million dollars to relief efforts and 250,000 to the red cross. 
Capital one credit card is offering 150 credit to some customers.

We are talking about the Fort.
Not other campgrounds. 
I know this is a touchy subject, based on several posts here,  but the fort keeps raising their prices and cutting back on service.   I believe most of us can agree on that.   But it's not just the fort. It's all of WDW.    
IMHO Disney is living off of its reputation as being the number one family vacation destination.
And those bean counters in the corporate office don't see that they are running off life long loyal customers.   Just read some of the posts on this thread. 
You will see comments like...
"we were ones that solely camped at the fort and reservations and prices just got too out of control for us."
"I wish they would slow down on the price increases"
"I agree that rates are getting to the point that no matter how much we like the fort it is something we won't be doing as often as we would like to."
 
I will defend WDW's right to charge what every the market will bear.  Heck, I own stock  I want them to make money.   
But if you look at other industries they have loyalty programs and cater more to their loyal customers than Disney.  
Why?  Because they know that their regular loyal customers are their bread and butter.   Its business 101.
its cheaper to market to an existing customer.  It costs about 6-8 times more to attract a new customer than it does to keep an existing customer. Approve 65-70% of most company's business comes from existing customers. 
Yes  there will always be those people that save up their pennies to take a once in a lifetime disney vacations and they won't know how much prices have gone up and service and quality has gone down  
It seems like Disney is choosing to make a quick buck off of the once in a life time customer.  
I personally would rather make $20 off of a loyal customer once or twice  a year for the next 20 years then make $100 one time off of a one time customer.  
But thats just my opinion   
 

Disney just called. Was scheduled to check in tomorrow. She said they are still working towards a Monday reopening but gave me a great deal on Wilderness Lodge.
I don't want to say publicly what they did but I am VERY happy.

Yes, that's the issue when everyone leaves, they eventually have to come back.
And if they are working stiffs and can't take vacation time, they have to get back to work ASAP.
Gas is still scarce here in Tampa itself, between stations not having fuel, or, not having power.
Exit 42 to the FL line on I-95 in GA are blocked off for the most part due to flooding and no gas.
Most posts I've read said people are having a hard time finding gas on their way back to FL, but one person claimed that they found gas every place they stopped.
It's going to be a mess for quite a while down here.

I can only imagine the hardship WDW being opened is causing many of their cms. All area schools are closed so even childcare could be an issue for many,  much less the face they may be facing damages and no power at home. I guess I sound mean,  but purple do not need to be clogging the roadways and using gas when people are trying to return home. Many big businesses are trying to help,  even the 7 eleven were giving out free water before the storm.  What has Disney done to help? Maybe I missed something?

Checking in and glad to report we are all OK.  Because we live in a mobile home we weathered Irma at the Wyndham hotel.
Lots of debris in yards, one screen room lost by a neighbor and roof damage top another.
 
Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts about everyone in the path of these big scary storms.

I just read that the increase went into effect.  I hope all who could got in on the deal.

Disney Management meeting.
Disneyland Manager:  "We will not give FL our parade. We will spend the $$$ to give our guests the best experience ever!"
WDW Manager: "Meh.  We could close down 1/2 of each park, and the suckers will still come and spend major $$$"  "Oh wait, we've already done that and are having a banner year.  They are like lemmings.  The Blogger post great reviews and people just keep on coming!  No parades for the little folk.  Desert parties are the wave of the future! "

Here is another treasure I have unearthed in the cleaning and sorting of the basement: my Disney nametag, complete with my “year pin.”
I worked at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Center when I was young.
I was stationed, mostly, in the giant geodesic dome, Spaceship Earth.
And there, the whole world passed before my eyes. 
It was the beginning of me learning to see people, to marvel over them, to listen to them and to wonder about their stories.
It was the beginning, too, of me learning how to talk to people, how to look them in the eye and answer their questions.
It was the beginning, in many ways, of me becoming a writer.

That was the subject of a long text string with DH and 3 trips outside with a tape measure, but yes... just.  :)
I'm wrapping up a case of starlight mints as we speak.

The tent we brought to WWW in February had that door - love it!
Stalked Amazon way too much today and picked up a few great deals, including pendant lights that will be perfect for the kitchen remodel we're in the middle of.
Better yet, I solved our food dilemma for our November trip by snagging a deal on a 3.5 cu ft freezer that will *just* fit in the back seat of the truck.  :)

I don't know about y'all, but a certificate of authenticity from themselves doesn't have much meaning in my opinion. I can print all kinds of certificates.

Please tell me they aren't simply doing an overlay of Ellen for a Guardians ride at Epcot, right?  That would be the slowest, longest "thrill" ride ever.  LOL.  More like Guardians of the Nursing Home.  

Definitely need to add those to my list!
