I want the Mr Toad car. I bet we could do a little customization on that and have one of the coolest golfcarts around...

Yes I am, and I'm feeling it more every day. This is too funny! ROFL.
We just hope we have 20 years more camping left in us.

Be glad that she's happy. Because we work closely with Humana insurance, we teach classes called "Silver Sneakers" which is an exercise program designed for the older crowd. If you have Humana insurance, they pay for your membership, which means every morning from 10-11, I am surrounded by at least 50 older folks.
While their are a few feisty ones like Mama, most of them take every opportunity to whine, moan, bitch and complain about their aches & pains, the government, the kids of today, or even the weather.
It really makes you appreciate the good ones, who understand their gonna have health issues and the world sucks a lot, but make the most of their days.
I applaud you and Ed for doing so much with Mama and keeping her happy and loved. A lot of the older folks aren't that lucky, and unfortunately, that may be part of their problems.

LOL we more than up for it at TE when you said we should get more skin. DH & DD11 took it as a personal challenge and loaded up for you. Unfortunately, they forgot to give you the large napkin wrapped package and left it in the GC. Sean took it out and baited a hook with it for DD11 just the other day. Week old dried, fried chicken skin. He was not impressed but I told him you said they'd like it. They did. :rofl2:

    :welcrowd: Rachel!
We used to come the first week of Feb for my birthday every year. Most times the weather was fine - very comfortable, tshirt, long sleeve, or sweatshirt weather, and not too crowded. OTOH I can remember a trip at the end of march that everybody ended up wearing coats for. You just never know.
I will say that Oct weather is more moderate and much more pool/waterpark friendly. Not sure what week of Oct you were considering but Halloween at the fort is awesome! So much better than anywhere we've ever been. After being here last Halloween, it definitely tops my list of times to visit - even summer - and I'm typing this from the fort right now...

rdancemom... Pam reacted to BradyBzLyn...Mo in would you stay at KOA to save money, lots of money
One thing to keep in mind if you want to do the DDP is that you have to stay on property.
That said, if Lou's right and you plan to do a lot of park time and just basically sleep at your resort, then you might even want to look into a Value Resort. It will allow you to get the DDP, you can use Disney Transport and you will get to take advantage of EMH.
I'm not looking to sway anyone away from staying at the Fort, but sometimes you need to look at what kind of trip you are planning and what may work best for that all the way around.

:rofl3: You're right! Forgot about "reduction" eating, lol. But that's a good point -- I can't write "diet" anymore; it has to be "lifestyle change." I'm amazed humans have survived this long without the guidance of the media.

    wow.
FTR this thread was not started about any specific person. It was meant to be a very general question like the "who hugs - who doesn't" thread.
Obviously there has been a misunderstanding. I cannot apologize enough to anyone who took this personally.
I have truly enjoyed meeting all the fiends I've met at the fort and beyond. Vacations are expensive and we all look forward to them for a long time. I would never want to make anyone uncomfortable, anywhere, for any reason, least of all in my happy place. That's just not me. I don't do drama. I take everyone for who they are and naturally assume the best. I've experienced a lot over the years and it just makes my life easier that way. Hopefully this post will officially set the record straight.

The dining plan is nice, but not a huge savings when you consider tips aren't included anymore... even less of a value for those with rvs b/c you can cook a few meals in the TT and save more $$ there than the dining plan would offer anyway.

:rotfl6: Not so sure about that Aaron.
FTR - it was Judy who started it. I was just backing her up and somehow finished it by telling them to bring bail money next time they walked past my site with a camera. Then I pointed out that we hadn't seen a single LGMH so either they were absent over the entire 3 weeks surrounding Halloween or too embarassed to put out their slime colored ears. :smug:
Apparently it hit at a time when the mods were off playing elsewhere so the swirling didn't start and the post remained up for awhile. :toiletreading: When it finally did come, I wasn't the only one :flush: If I'd have known :flush2: would leave me feeling so refreshed, I'd have jumped into that bowl years ago...

I catch an extremist lime green freak taking picks of my younglings and we are gonna go a few rounds.......I'm not too proud to admit it either. :kickinass: Afterwards I will celebrate by parading my FF sign around on a golf cart and stopping to hand out FF cards to any current Vold-anian/normal human being that has the sense to not sneak around taking pics of kids ; generally acting like a pedophile. Damn, I never knew about this before now, but I guarantee Pam handled it in a much more adult manner than I would have......so I guess good for her. Apparently it was an isolated incident so here's hoping it does not happen to any more fiends.

Accoording to a friend who works at Giant, the gift card deal was extended to this week's sale too. Why not buy disney GCs now to use at the gate to buy annuals or MYW tix when you get there? Because it'd be more than one GC, you'd probably have to purchase/pay for tickets once at wdw unless they were included in a package. However, at $80 this week to buy $100 of GCs, you'd save 20% and I can't imagine finding more of a discount on tickets than that...

Just put on my TA cap and made a few calls. Found 2 openings. Sent you a pm with date and details. Hoping they'll work and you can grab them before someone else does. Sorry, I tried to hold it but it requires your last name & a cc # which I didn't have.
Other than that, try calling every day the week before and asking for cancellations. It's a 48 hr cancel and it's not at all unusual to have people back out 2 days prior.
DS34 did it years ago when they first started offering it and Ron Jon's was providing the instructors. He already surfed well but really enjoyed the predictable waves. They hold world class competitions at TL privately after hours for just that reason - every wave is a good one.
