  1. Went by your site once, nobody around. Never got a chance to go back. We were in 1405
  2. A little bit of info. General George Meade was stationed in my home town during the 2nd Seminole War. He was Lt. Meade at that time and the town is named for him now after the fort that was there, although the for was named Fort Clinch when he was here. Who would think a famous general from Gettysburg would have a connection to a small town in central Florida. Fort Meade the oldest town in Polk County. Also had Stonewall Jackson stationed here.
  3. My Mother always said "great minds think run in the same canel or is it all All fool think alike"
  4. I agree the new rates make you stop and think. We have decided no AP next year and try dome different campgrounds. Already made reservations for the 4th of July weekend at a different park. My son has decided to sell his camper after the next 2 trips we have planed for next month.
  5. I want to let you'll know how much I enjoy trip reports, read them all some of them more than once. Don't understand how TCD can do as much as he does in a trip, makes me tired reading them. Couldn't keep up with him and the twins even if I was 30 years younger. Thanks for all the effort you put out for us , BigTom
  6. You can camp at Walmart in parts of Florida. Some places don't allow it and some do. Check with manager.
  7. You have Buddy, don't need a mask, scary enough without one.
  8. I was surprised how the characters just wandered around the ship when we went on the Dream. Rode the elevator with Peter Pan once and asked him why didn't he just fly down the stairway, claimed he was tired.
  9. I am ready for another update. Starting on Friday, knowing you don't post on weekends was mean to us who look forward to your reports.
  10. My 2nd grader GD room is decorated as a pirate ship, haven't seen it yet. School doesn't start until next week but sounds like an interesting teacher.
  11. You should never grease your hitch ball. Make it collect sand and grit and wears out the ball and hitch fast.
  12. I was one of the ones who had to move a pop up.
  13. Wonder how many near campers were fussing about all the noise that early. Bet you woke up the whole CG.
  14. We have tractor parades at Florida Flywheeler Shows 3 times a year. Also have old car parades and funny looking carts running around. might have to take up photography and learn how to post pictures.
  15. Are we sure the wet butt was rain water or was it just someone who couldn't wait.
  16. Glad you found your way here, we could have talked more if you had stayed longer. Hope to see you at The Fort again, we go real often, have 4 more planned before end of year. BigTom
  17. Check in is drive up, you don't have to get out of your vehicle. A credit card takes care of all charges and if card is given, you get a total bill the morning you leave, delivered to your site and all you have to do is pack up and leave.
  18. While the servers don't come and check on you after they bring your order, condiments are available. You have to ask one of the CS that are watching the room usually around the drink bar. They have them in little square bowls but you have to ask for them.
  19. With your guest, just add them to your reservations ( no extra cost) and they will get key cards with there names on them and can come and go when they want. Get parking passes for them so they can park in the over flow lot. BigTom
  20. Didn't know there were any other campgrounds, since I have been going to the Fort I haven't been to any other and the ones I went to before don't compare with The Fort so I don't have any other favorite place.
  21. TCD, I want to know, did you inform the twins that they had to come home and go to the Fort with you. We need trip reports at least once a month to help maintain sanity.
