  1. My mother several years before she died took all the old photos and separated them according to each of us and mad scrap book for each child, there were 4 of us, and gave them for Christmas one year. They were the hit of the year.
  2. I don't know how widespread it is, but I was there last July 4 in 1500 loop and there were several sites that had 3-5 vehicles parked on them during the day and no camper. They would leave late at night and be there all day.
  3. I always leave mine locked to TV in overflow lot and had no problems. Make sure you get the parking pass for the trailer.
  4. Do we have a place to post unneeded camping equipment other fiends might need that we no longer use?
  5. Don't know about CM helping with MOHO but I bet any fiend would be willing to help
  6. I have been in the 1500 and the 2000 loops several times. There is the same problems on both with the kids running around and the noise. It just seems worse on the 2000 loop because it has more sites. Last time we were in 1500 there was about 3 sites with at least 35 kids and 20 adults on them in a group. Also added in was the group of 50 in the 1600 loop, CS didn't have a chance.
  7. Let me tell you which truck is the best for you. Find one that is able to do what you want, that is in your price range, that you can get serviced close to you by a good business, that you can find parts for locally, and that is comfortable to sit in and drive. Make sure you get enough truck to handle the load you will want to haul. All brands have good trucks now. I recommend at least a 2500 to pull a TT.
  8. Probably heat strip is burnt out. Not had to replace and is not real expensive. Heat strips are not intended for continuous use and only to take chill off the camper.
  9. Base balls don't need a house. They have a room in the castle.
  10. We have a Jayco 806 popup. Basic model with a/c. I removed the sink and stove, added microwave and dorm refrigerator that we set on counter because we needed more room that camper came with. We do our cooking outside unless bad weather and then nuke something. We have a/c and would not have one without a/c. It covers outside noise and also keeps the humidity down in the camper. It covers noise so well that we had a campsite right by the bus stop a few times 1501 once and the bus noise did not brother us at all. Am pulling with a 6 cylinder pickup and a minivan, don't even feel it back there.
  11. I have seen that cabin in the 1500 loop before, possible in 2000 loop, so it must be towable.
  12. Maybe we all should send Sil a magnet to make Jason's day. We need an address
  13. Not many of us native Floridians in this state, but we do say y'all. What other word is there to use that works better?
  14. I have been to the Fort during busy times, not as much as TCD but often. There are always some empty sites, not many but always a few.
  15. I am in on the mufflers for the race cars. Sign my name big so they can read it without their cheaters.
  16. Thought I would get some response on my post, and yes you should feel a little nervous first few times, but not a thing to be afraid of and after a few times should be no problem to the average driver.
  17. What is so hard about pulling trailer? It is going to follow you, allow a little extra for turns and don't tailgate the vehicle in front of you, make sure your lights work is about all there is to it. I have been towing trailers for about 60 years and really can't understand the problem.
  18. How about those of us with larger wrist. I have to have links installed in my watch band to fit.
  19. When DW and I go, usually one will go get the food and the other will find a table.
  20. I am in and I agree about the race cars. You would think they could afford mufflers for the price they charge. I don't even like trucks with loud exhaust. The buses make enough noise at the fort, don't need anymore.
  21. We were there last year on the 4th, never again for us. Crowds were bad then add in BTG and there wasn't room to move. Fireworks were real good on the 4th, but will be somewhere else next year.
  22. Help me make a decision. I can remove the canvas and have it repaired, remember it is 30 years old and don't know how much damage I will do to it. It ripped real easy when it tore and probably the rest is just as weak. Or I can patch this spot so it can be used, the repair would actually be under the edge of the bunk, it is torn in the seam where it folds under bunk. After the first of the year when I get my fruit money (I grow oranges and sell them around the first of the year)I can order new canvas for the complete trailer. We like this trailer and plan on keeping it for several more years.
  23. This weekend we tore the canvas on our popup, the flap that turns under the bunk about 2 feet on stitch line. Local canvas shop says it need to be removed from trailer for repair, How hard is it to remove and reinstall fabric from 1983 Jayco 806 trailer. I think it is original fabric and is in real good condition.
