  1. I'm going to try this one too! I love my Instant Pot. I get home from work and dump whatever in, then by the time my boys get home from their after school activities (and shower) it's usually ready to eat. As are they.
  2. Wow, that looks delicious. And amazing you could cook it all at once. How big was the meatloaf (how much ground beef)? Also, what kind of potatoes and did you cut them up into smaller pieces? Can you tell I want to try this!
  3. Isn't the Dodge Caravan a minivan? The one in the picture will rest differently on a minivan. I have a similar one I use on my Odyssey and it's a pain to get the straps to stay on the top of the liftgate. With some adjusting I get most of the weight on the middle of the gate not the glass but the bike does rest pretty low. I only use it for short distances. My husband has an SUV with a trailer hitch and the rack we use with that vehicle is a lot more secure.
  4. Great start! Love the asking where Haunted Mansion and Small World are at the stopover.
  5. I'm a huge National Parks fan and I think this is unfortunate but not unreasonable. Personally, I think the federal government should cut back on a bunch of other things and use the money to put the national parks in tip top shape, but I also know that's not going to happen. I read this: The proposal was blasted by the National Parks Conservation Association, a nonpartisan advocacy group. "We should not increase fees to such a degree as to make these places -- protected for all Americans to experience -- unaffordable for some families to visit," the group's president and CEO Theresa Pier
  6. As much as that place gave me a severe headache and the last time we went (2013) it smelled and the games were in poor shape, I still remember the first time I took my kids there and how excited they were and how much fun they had. RIP DisneyQuest.
  7. I'm interested in these two rules: “Dogs…should not be left unattended in your Guest room for more than seven hours” "Dogs should remain silent if left unattended in your Guest room. I f noise is heard, you will be called to address the noise within 30 minutes.” Seven hours seems like a long time to leave a dog in a strange location. And may be the difference between dogs allowed at non-theme park hotels and at Disney, although as it's been pointed out Universal also allows dogs. I can see a dog staying in a room when traveling and the dog stays with you overnight before you're
  8. I guess I should thank Disney for this since I needed something to entertain me on a Friday afternoon. Reading the comments on the WDW Magic Forum and I've already found the most likely candidates to file the first lawsuits!
  9. But we know how people love to sue Disney. Waiting for the first "they said it was a non-pet room but I couldn't breathe for 10 hours so they must have lied" lawsuit. DISNEY TRIES TO KILL GUEST WITH PET DANDER -- see the full story on Action News at 11.
  10. On the Bring Fido website it says: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando welcomes two pets of any size for an additional fee of $50 per night. Pets may not be left unattended at any time.
  11. Remember this is Disney -- never say never! "For $150/night we will provide Angora with a bejeweled litter box and daily cleaning service."
  12. The comments to that article are already suggesting some of the issues they are going to have to deal with, particularly people at those resorts who insist that they be moved because they can tell that a dog has previously been in the room and they are highly allergic. Smart on Disney's part because pet owners who will do or buy anything for little Bootsie are an untapped resource of $$$$. Note that there will be special pet merchandise at those resorts. I'm also waiting for cat lovers to demand equal time (or ferret owners, pot bellied pigs, etc.) My crazy high energy poorly behaved little s
  13. Best I could think of was Airiel ?! But then at some point someone probably would call her Hot Airiel.
  14. Please tell me they gave that baby a cool name related to her place or situation of birth. I have a relative with the initials VW because he was born in one.
  15. Thank you for this trip report! I love hot air balloons. There used to be a smaller balloon festival near where I live and it was just amazing to see them fly. Fear of heights keeps me grounded but I think the view of looking up at them as they cover the sky is better anyway. Love the Smokey Bear one. I also am in awe of the experience you are providing for your kids, and you and your wife too. In another life, that's what I would have done.
  16. One April we were in the 2000 loop during a heavy overnight rainstorm and our site flooded. My husband was out there in the early morning while it was still raining using a piece of cardboard to try to push the water off the pad as a Fort vehicle drove slowly past our site. Luckily a nice man from Massachusetts in the next site asked us if we wanted to borrow his shovel and my husband dug paths off the pad so the water could drain. My advice is to bring a shovel!
  17. Yes they will. Because unlike Avatar, they will be releasing Guardians of the Galaxy 6 that year. (I just made that up, but I'm the most unlikely audience for a Marvel type movie and I like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.)
  18. Wow! Now I'm actually feeling a little better about my grocery bill. I can't even imagine filling that much boy. My tallest son is 5'11". The other two are several inches shorter. Of course I'm only 5' 1.5" so they all look tall to me.
  19. My 18 year old (who's a runner) was sitting at the table eating chicken, rice and some other things so I thought he was having dinner. Next thing I know he's changed his clothes and said he's going to Olive Garden with some friends. The chicken, etc. was just the warm up! Oh me too. It's probably best for me that they only have them in December. I like the peach ones in the summer too but the peppermint is soooo good!. My kids love Cook Out shakes but to me those are too thick.

Sea & Shore Sweepstakes: From February 13-17, 2017 Wheel Watchers had the chance to win a four-night family cruise to The Bahamas from Wheel and Disney Cruise Line! Grand Adventures Sweepstakes: Wheel of Fortune gave away five vacations for four to WALT DISNEYWORLD RESORT. From February 15 - 19, 2016 viewers had the chance to win a family vacation to Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in beautiful Ko Olina, Hawaii plus a $1,0
  21. I'm thinking they would totally lose $ on my three teenage boys.

  23. The first time we took our kids to Disney they were 5 and 2@2 weeks before turning 3 (ie free admission and could stay in a room for 4 at All Star Movies). The twins were pretty much potty trained but I had them wear Pull Ups. One figured out that saying he needed to go was a sure way to get to sit and rest for a while and we spent a good bit of time in the restrooms until we figured that out and then it was "do you really really need to go?". We were in the waiting area for Mickey's PhilHarmagic, last show of the day, our last day and one of the few things we hadn't done yet. Older son had
  24. You all are so organized. We don't RV so it was minivan travel for us but travel day stopping for lunch, usually at a Georgia rest stop on I-95 somewhere near Brunswick I think (there's a metal pot outside and a sign about Brunswick stew), are some of my favorite memories of traveling to Florida when my kids were younger. The excitement of that first day of vacation!. We'd gather up all the remaining perishable/opened food in the house -- the rest of the loaf of bread, open bags of chips/cookies, various pieces of fruit, whatever and that was lunch. Everyone picked out what they wanted and
  25. Worst sunburn I ever got as an adult was at a beach in Florida a few years ago. We sprayed sunscreen but apparently, we realized afterward, it was pretty windy. I was there for several hours with nothing protecting me. One of my sons also. Oh so painful. Thank goodness for aloe. Learned my lesson with that and I do lotion basecoat and spray over it now.
