  1. I wonder what the system would do if you booked your first FP+ for the day of your arrival, thus triggering the guest scenario, and then tried to book a FP+ for the 2 days prior to your arrival date while you'll be staying with your friend. Would the system then recognize you as an AP holder & allow it or would it think, hey, this guy is a guest & he wants to book a FP+ for a date before he's even here? Bzzzt! No FP+ for you!
  2. I have an AP and a fort reservation for September. I'll be interested to see if this is fixed by then. Maybe you need to make the FP+ reservations using the Magic Band that you get with your Fort reservation & not the one you get with your AP? Not sure how you would do that.
  3. I've dozed off at Nemo. Hot, tiring day; cool, dark theater; bad combination. X 3.
  4. I kind of figured this was the case. Like stopping at a Wally World, be a good citizen and don't abuse the privilege and you'll be OK.
  5. We've tried the St. Augustine Flying J but it can be noisy. We like the I-95 rest area just south of Exit 305 (the Flying J exit) but I've heard that Florida limits you to no more than 4 hours in their rest areas. I don't know if that is aggressively enforced or not. We did overnight at the FL Welcome Center north of Jax one time with no hassles.
  6. I've never run the phone completely dead but very close to it & the Jackery Bar recharges it. It also has a built in LED flashlight. The cord that comes with it is about 24" long. You may want to use a longer cord if you're going to be taking pics with the iPad while the Jackery Bar is in your pocket.
  7. Ray, I have a Jackery Bar (I know that name's going to bring out some snarky replies) 5,600mAh battery pack that I bought off of Amazon for $29.95. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AAP2U4Y/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's small enough to easily fit in my pocket & it recharges my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (which is a real battery hog) quickly.
  8. Before I made my reservations for BOG & TTFDP I tried to find out which nights the Halloween Party was scheduled for so I wouldn't have to buy a special ticket just to eat in a restaurant. When I couldn't find the dates, I checked the MK hours for the early closing times. I hoped the days with the early close were the party dates.
  9. It is definitely a great show. We try to see it every time we go. We were really disappointed that it was closed while we were there over the winter. I hope they don't change it too much as part of the move to the new location. During a visit in 2009 for our grandson's 10th birthday, a CM gave us a pass that got us seated in the front row of the bleachers. They were chosen to give the Lion's roar! We loved it.
  10. Dave, I couldn't agree more. I had heard rumors that Under the Sea was going to be another under-sea ride like 20,000 Leagues. I couldn't have been more disappointed. At least I used a Fast Pass and didn't have to wait in a long standby line. Since I don't have any young granddaughters, I doubt I'll ever go on a journey with the Little Mermaid again, unless I need a nice, slow, air conditioned on a hot day. :rofl3:
  11. I liked the Caribbean Jerk, but the BBQ Chicken sounds good. My favorite is the Full Montagu & DW likes the Original & the Holiday Turkey. I'm not surprised at the price increase. I thought it would have come before this.
  12. FMCA started this program several months after I bought 6 new Michelin XRVs for my MH. :banghead: I probably coulda saved enough to rent a Disney golf cart for a couple or 3 days. :rofl3: Oh well, like they say, timing is everything.
  13. Sorry to hear about your problem. Welcome to the world of RVing. The fun never ends. It seems like there's always something to fix or replace. If you can go to an RV dealer near your home who sells hybrids, look at a few of the hybrids to see how the sides are secured. If they use Velcro or some other hook and loop type fastener, then you can buy industrial strength Velcro from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Velcro-Industrial-Strength-Sticky-Back-Fasteners/dp/B00006RSP1# Good luck with your repairs.
  14. :jumpforjoy I finally figured out GAG! Chicken? I could eat some chicken! :thewave1:
  15. I was finally able to make October reservations for the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party this morning. I hope it isn't on a night for the MNSSHP. They haven't listed those dates yet.
  16. After I posted I realized I should have mentioned it's only a party of 2. I know small parties are easier to seat than large ones. The first res is for 8:15 & the second one is for 6:45, both good times.
  17. I've been able to make 2 dinner reservations for BOG for our October trip with no problem. I booked one on 4/4 for 10/4 & the other on 4/10 for 10/11 using MDE. What I haven't been able to do so far is make a reservation for the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party. WDW-DINE told me they haven't opened up the October reservations for that yet.
  18. I already carry my driver's license to get the merchandise discount & in case a zealous CM wants to see it to get the free parking. Had that happen twice at DAK last winter. No other park. My wife had problems getting admitted to the parks with her AP. There seemed to be a problem with her finger scan. The CMs would ask her what park she last visited before admitting her. Once at the MK she had to show her driver's license & they reset her finger scan. Ain't technology great! I didn't realize they were still issuing the KTTW cards. I thought the MBs opened the gate & laundry room
  19. Yippie Mickey! :jumpforjoy Our AP Magic Bands came yesterday. And our AP Gold Discount cards, which we have to carry if we want the free parking & merchandise discount. I'm not sure I see the advantage of the MBs if I still have to carry a plastic card in my wallet. I might just as well keep the AP card & leave everything else at home. We also just ordered our MBs for our stay at the Fort in the fall, so now we're 2/7ths of the way to a complete collection! When we get our new APs in December, will we get new plastic APs to use for the free parking & shopping discounts? We ca
  20. While I was waiting in the FP+ line at DHS yesterday I was looking at My Disney Experience on my phone & I accidentally found out I could now make FP+ selections on line! When I got to the FP+ screen I mentioned it to the CM assisting us & he said it actually started 2 days before & I should have gotten an email that was sent to all Annual Passholders. I guess my email was intercepted by the NSA, :banghead: but I don't care because now I'm a lot happier about the whole FP+ system. At least now I don't have to stand in the FP+ Kiosk lines. Me so happy! :rofl3:
  21. My wife and I share the gripe of the Daytona Beach annual pass holder. We're snowbirds, spending the winter in an RV park near Disney, and we too are annual pass holders who enjoy going to the parks but find ourselves shut out of fast passes for the better rides. We feel like second class guests when it comes to fast passes. In addition to being annual pass holders, we're also DVC members, so we've spent a good deal of money with Disney, and all we'd like is a level playing field with WDW hotel guests for fast passes. We've expressed our displeasure with this system to CMs stationed at the
  22. The DW & I are staying at Rainbow Chase RV Park in Davenport and they have storage for $50/month. It's about 17 miles from the Fort. The place is fenced & gated. The address is 6300 Lake Wilson Road, Davenport, FL 33896. Phone # is 863-424-2688.
