  1. Seems like all the step-lift busses should be gone by now. (Not that I'm disputing the word of our man on the inside.) I don't think we saw any during our last Christmas trip, but mostly we got busses that could only accommodate two wheelchairs or EVC's. The newer busses can hold three. Several times we got a bus with a stuck ramp, but didn't notice if it was the SAME bus, or not. In each case the operator/CM was able to get it open. Although we had ridden a few the 3-chair busses year before last, we often had to take separate busses that year because we had three wheelchairs. We're pu
  2. Thanks. We'll have to try that this year. We rarely get to that side of the park, but stay on the Safari and Camp Minnie-Mickey, with a stop at the BBQ place. AK is not my favorite park..
  3. OK! I know i should know this after so many trips to WDW, but WHERE is the Nemo show? My mind is a blank, but I can't recall ever seeing Nemo, except the EPCOT ride.
  4. Our daughter, Kimberly, was selected to parade with the kids at the end of the show last Christmas. Shw was in heaven, as she is much of the time. She and her pusher had the greatest time. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit in the new theatre.
  5. Now that's interesting. And who has even noticed the A113 occurrences before now?...besides DIT's DD? And are those hidden or intentionals?
  6. I think the suggestion for the electric water heater goes for gas too. You do not want to heat an empty hot water tank. you can ruin it in a hurry that way. So before you turn the water heater on, be sure to open the hot water faucets and let them run until all the air is out and you have a steady stream of cool water. THEN turn it on to heat the water. This should pnly be necessary the first time you fill the water tank and after you drain and flush the system. BTW, we have gotten in the habit of only turning our water heater on when we want hot water, rather than allow it to continue
  7. Steering back to a previous hijack: I have my grandfather's camera similar to the Kodak shown above. I also have my mother's box camera, which I do not believe has a name on it. I also doubt I can find film for either in the local WalMart. IFRC one takes 120 and one takes 620 film. And where would you ever get film developed today? Ok, back to the more recent hihacking...
  8. Gail would be a good attorney if she is not overly influenced by that Malificient Bus Driver. :rofl2:
  9. How can anyone possibly not like the FOTLK? Or with the sound level, fall asleep? And Gwen, What is your 1st favorite Disney show? Inquiring minds want to know. Mine used to be Hunchback.
  10. We also use a filter on the faucet end of the MH hose. Filters vary from cheap to really high cost, dependig on what they filter out.
  11. Seems like i have seen one just below the castle (is this the Hub?) one in Liberty Square, and maybe one over near Pecos Bills.
  12. Do they still have a reserved area for handicapped watching the MK parades, with or without FP+? If so, is it still as hectic as it used to be to get in and get the kids to the front?
  13. Is there a sticker somewhere on/in the trailer that shows what size tire it came with?
  14. G&G, Did you get your tires from a tire outlet or by mail order? If not at a local dealer, where did you get them mounted, balanced, etc?
  15. I agree with Kelly. I believe most, if not all, are made by one company. We bought one a few years back and took it to Texas. It sat in 100+ degree temps under the awning. It made a few "cubes" which were really tubes, but they melted before the next batch dropped. I think the reservoir held about a gallon of water, so it should make for quite a while before it needs to be refilled. The bucket looks to be maybe a quart size, or so, but if the outside temp is high it would require frequent emptying. There is nothing to keep the ice frozen in the bucket. But it does make a batch about e
  16. Did you get answers to your questions? By the way, your family members can be referred to as DW, DS11, DS9, and DD4. DW would usually refer to you in these forums as DH. Dufus and Shmuckface are already taken. We drive in from Lake City and try to arrive around check in time, which is 1 pm. When we get ready to leave, we try to hit around check out time, which is 11 am. We rarely make either time. We have not done much resort hopping, but there are some amazing decorative touches at each to make it well worthwhile to see. Just remember you can eat and play at those resorts, but do n
  17. We once had a triple inline stroller and also once had a quad stroller that could be configured in different ways. The triple was hard to turn and the quad was hard or impossible to get through doors. We took the triple to the Grand Ole Opry and I got to sit with three kids in the rear of the auditorium while DS and DW sat in Row 5 on the aisle. We took the quad to Branson and one of us had to stay outside with the kids while the other shopped. They both (strollers) spent considerable time in the storage shed before being donated.
  18. Can I agree with Ray and Andrew AND Lou without sitting too high on a spiked fence? I agree strollers are a necessity for many families, and although we used them in days gone by, I dislike umbrella strollers for reason stated above, and I detest the bohemoths (I know that's likely spelled wrong, but I don't want to look it up)...especially on the busses. (There I got it all in one run-on sentence.) I can't say TOO much against them in the parks because we often have at least two wheelchairs with us that are just as large....but more necessary. Don't they still make regular sized stroller
  19. Looking at the map (Shanta's Google Earth, expanded), it looks like you can take a boat from HS without going through security to Boardwalk. Then you could also walk to World Showcase in EPCOT, also without going through security? Am I right? Has anyone done this, not necessarily regarding the security issue, but regarding the path you could take? In all our years from the Fort, we have never taken the EPCOT to Boardwalk path, but plan to do it this year. We took a boat once to BW, but not sure where we started or wound up. Also are these boats still wheelchair accessible?
  20. You MUST meet Lou. You can't really call yourself a Fiend until you meet Lou. And ask him to spike you. You'll like it.
  21. We do not care how long it takes. We take two busses (Internal and External) to EPCOT. Coming back we take the monorail to the TTC and transfer to the Ferry to MK. Then we either go in MK or catch the launch back to the Fort. Just adds a different Disney transportation to our list and the kids love it. And EPCOT has an elevator for the monorail access; old fogies who are likely tired and sore by then. .
