  1. Looks like there will be more room for all those crowds that gather for the shows at the castle. I give this a plus rating.
  2. Whatever jobs WDW pushes on you, we expect you will always be a Fiend and will regularly haunt the Fort....spikes aplenty and sniffing out apple pies.
  3. Glad it all worked out, But retirement is much less stressful. :)
  4. Test dummies popping out? I ain't gonna be nobody's test dummy. :rofl3:
  5. As I recall, some models are still in the $1600 range...maybe a little more, but under $2000. Fancier ones were over $2000. Our "neighbors" didn't have any more costly.
  6. Sounds like they have made a spontaneous vacation much more difficult.
  7. So they had a way to bring food and such, but no way to get them down. They probably charged for the food and wanted to maximize their profits.
  8. Welcome Cindy and family. We're not from Texas, but know some who are, if that gains us any points. I guess we'll miss you this trip as we'll be at the Fort in early December thru early Jan. Get you a sign from AuburnJen so other Fiends can find you there. There will likely be a thread that you can post your site number so you can receive a visit from everybody's favorite former bus driver, Lou. He's a cranky old coot, with a heart of gold. He is attracted to apple pies and often has a spike from the old Fort Railroad for new members (a treasured momento).
  9. Maybe your phone call contributed to your peace of mind...and maybe helped other neighbors who did not make such a call. We've had a couple of vehicles in our way over the 15 or so years we've been regulars at the Fort, but not enough to make our trip miserable. We also try to just enjoy our time there.
  10. Anyone ever requested a specific site and gotten it only to find a huge dually parked partly in the street where you needed to back in. Or found the late night neighbors who partied into the morning next door? In other words, does it always work out as you expected?
  11. We were at River Plantation in Sevierville this summer. A couple sites down from us was a Cricket dealer with several models to show. Neat little carts, but too small for my family. I suggested to DW that we get a cricket to supplement our EZGO. That was quickly shot down. We would need a bigger trailer to haul them along with all the wheelchairs we carry.
  12. Our Savannah is an indoor dog. We put her out in the fenced backyard from time to time, but she has found a way to get out and come to the front door to be let in. My thinking is that she needs her own key. And she needs to know how to handle those little baggie things when she IS outside....Maybe if we told her our house is in a pet loop...
  13. I'm guessin' we're Aaron+ or Carol- We've been for Christmas/New Years for about 14 years with an occasional spring or summer trip thrown in. I still don't know the names of the streets in FW, but can find most attractions in most parks without a map.
  14. Mo, You do good work. Put yourself in for a raise and use my name as a reference. :rofl2:
  15. Mo, Your list for Aug 2014 shows FOTLK to be closing in January and reopening in the summer. Is that closing in Jan 2014 or Jan 2015? Surely the recently opened venue does not need refurbishing already.
  16. And you thought a monorail stoppage was a problem? http://www.wsbtv.com/videos/news/rollercoaster-riders-stuck-for-5-hours-rescued-by/vCm75Q/
  17. This is an interesting read. The Murphy Bed sounds like a unique idea. We have a Class A and could not do without it. It does have a drawback with sleeping, though. A queen in the rear and a double on the sofabed. No bunks, no cabover. but we get by, and so do the kids....at least until the 19 mo outgrows the Pack-N-Play.
  18. Starbuc, I'm inclined to do the same since only about three colors work after the first trip, and it's not easy to change the setting with a globe/head on.
  19. Depending on how familiar you are with backing a 42 foot rig into a campsite, a Premium would be a lot easier. A tent can be put at the back edge of the concrete so as to be able to put tent pegs on three corners. The fourth corner could be held down by something inside the tent. Among the Premium loops I like 400 for Settlement access, 1400 for the pool and Meadows stuff. Some of the Preferred sites could get a little tight for such a long MH.
  20. Thanks. I do lots of stuff that's not perfect, so i should have no trouble with the dots.
  21. Does it always really storm when you are close to the Backlot Bar, or is that just some Disney effect to keep you there? Hmmm... We've been caught there several times....and we don't even drink. Hmmmm...
  22. Great news for you, Angela. Ours worked well for our summer trip to Dollywood. We discovered a couple of problems with our awning on the trip. It was installed so high on the sidewall as to be nearly flat. which does not allow for much water drainage. It does have a mechanism for drooping the rear corner a little if the rain is not too hard, so we had to put the awning in every time we left the MH for very long. In good weather we were able to leave the wheelchairs under the awning, but we carried a tarp to protect them in bad weather when we had to close the awning. On our previous MH we
  23. Is there some secret to putting the spots in the polkadots? I had trouble with Mickey's two buttons and haven't wanted to try the multiple spots for Minnie.
