  1. Hey! I've routed some slots like that one. Don't know that I've improved since, except to buy a second router. It was likely the router's fault. I think I'll name my router DAVE. :rofl3:
  2. A couple years ago I followed Mark Polk as he re-did a smaller Yellowstone. It took him nearly a year and much of what went into it was donated from sponsors. Of course he and his son had to do the tear out and rebuild to hold the donated features. I could see a major investment in time and $$$$ on this Tin Can. 20 years ago, maybe .....
  3. Somewhere in these threads I saw where Lou had been penned by an ECV, but not by a wheelchair. Too bad he's not driving now. That would have been a goal for us to shoot at. :rofl2:
  4. Best: Get to the fort and make use of the MH. Get Shawnee to the attractions. See some Fiends. Wait. That's more than one thing. Worst: Too many busses are still only 2-wheelchair capable.
  5. If we get to see Anna, you get to see our new Blake, who turns two on 12/21.. Our "new" four legged Savannah will be about three. Looking forward to it. I'm toying with the idea of 1209-1216, or so. Those are deep sites and give DW extra room to inflate more stuff along the road. I finally downloaded the site app last evening to our new iPad. I know, every 10 year old has one, and probably knows a lot more about how to use it, but I'm old.
  6. Oops. DW has been here so seldon, I didn't realize i posted under her login. We usually go once every Christmas season. DW is the one who eats the ribs. I get one and some chicken, along with the potatoers and corn. Shawnee can go through several loaves of cornbread as well as maybe a rib and several helpings of potatoes and beans. Kimberly usually waits for the strawberry shortcake and takes more than her share. We all take in a load of diet cokes and lemonade. I turned into the family ogre by turning down a chance to go on stage last year. Unlike Maya, I have no regrets, except for
  7. I agree with using the bus as a buffer to cross the street. I haven't seen the sign that says not to. We also peer around the edge of the bus to make sure traffic is stopped in both directions. And the driver is usually delayed in taking off by closing the ramp at the rear, so we have some time.
  8. DIT, Will y'all be there around Christmas this year? We'll be there Dec 10-Jan 5...or thereabouts. Melissa will also have at least her daughter and son with her. We go to court in the morning to hopefully finalize the adoption of our little Blake. He's been with us nearly a year, but DFCS would not let him travel out of state before this summer....after we signed intent-to-adopt papers.
  9. There's so much more going on here than over there. And a more personable group, too. Don't know why Judy has been absent. She is around here every day, and has been on FB a lot. We have a spike, but we will be joined around Christmas by Judy's daughter, "Trail Mix", in our old MH, who has NOT been spiked. They have a sign and usually some good cooking skills, so they should be in good shape. I don't know what apple recipes she might have. (I need to get started on a shadowbox to display the FWRR trophy. We've only had it a couple of years, so I'm about on schedule.)
  10. Welcome Matt. Hope you have an absolute blast at the Fort. Glad to hear about the upgrade. Sometimes Disney does it right. The preferred site will give you a lot of flexibility, with the Trading Post, the boat docks, the playground, Trails End, etc.
  11. YEAH, i sent email to 4-5 Administrators and moderators, but never got a response. I have emailed Ed a couple times with no problem. I see so much incomplete, wrong, and misguided information over there and not many left to properly respond. And give Lou credit. He suggested several times for me to stop working over there. Check that off your bucket list.
  12. From back on page one: I was not flushed in the original dumping, and I continued to post over there until this past March when I was unceremoniously dumped. They said I could never rejoin because I had been posting things designed to work around their filters. Still not sure what they were referring to, and no one would respond to any of my 4-5 emails for an explanation. I have figured out they somehow must know I know Dave, thus my :flush2: . By the way, I have met the aforementioned Ed of the crimson and white leanings, and I find him to be quite nice. He even apologized for making
  13. Looking back over this thread...The trams at Dollywood only look to handle 1, maybe 2, vehicles up front per tram/train, and it looks like they have two styles of transport, and only one type appears to have the ECV/Wheelchair position available, and no apparent tiedowns. I need to look closer next time up there, but we park in handicapped parking, so we don't ride the trams anyway. I know the steam train holds up to three vehicles, in the back with the conductor.
  14. An LP detector will also sound if you have used some type of toxic spray like hair spray, bug spray, etc. If it's that, maybe just openig and airing it out for a few hours will cure it.
  15. I also do not see the SEC network! That's gotta be fixed!!! Or maybe I'll have to get my old satellite rig back out.
  16. How about the possibility of a miswired outlet that caused a "hot skin" electrocution?
  17. Good report TCD. BTW, when you go to the Fort for a day trip, does the guard let you in to the overflow lot, then catch a bus, or walk in? Just curious. Maybe I don't want to know all your secrets.
  18. The MH market underwent a huge shakeup a few years ago, so used models might be for companies that are no longer in business. That said, there are support companies that service any MH, so thay can still be a good buy. We have never bought a new one, but let me encourage you to look at some internet sites such as RVTrader.com and PPLmotorhomes.com for floor plans, prices, engines, transmissions, slideouts, etc. You can get a good look at what's available and make your list of what appeals to you. You might also want to visit some local area RV dealers and see what these units actually look
  19. Our kids will be distressed. BLT and the GMR are the two things they ask for at HS. Next thing we'll hear they are closing the Hunchback.
  20. We have often rented a car from Enterprise while we were at the Fort. They picked up and dropped off at our campsite. We once had to rent from Alamo and they picked up and dropped off at the Outpost. Never had a problem withj either company. We usually kept the car for more than one day to make runs to CVS, Winn Dixie, WalMart, or Harbor Freight.
  21. Sorry to hear that, but FWG is right. When it's time to go, might as well go from there. But it must be hard on the family.
  22. I used to use the 27 route when I came from Mobile. The road is almost interstate quality and the traffic is usually light. Some slowdown for the towns, but also more options for gas stations and food stops that way. You miss Gainesville. Still hit 75 at Ocala with the southbound traffic.
  23. We must have a GC when we visit the Fort to transport our kids around. Although not a legal hang tag, we have a handicapped sticker on our windshield. A dollar a day does not seem too much, but $5 a day is getting pretty steep on top of the campground fee. As to requiring proof of separate insurance and being street legal, that is overkill for a campground. But I guess I need to check to see if State Farm already covers mine. Next I imagine they will go after making scooters be street legal.(Sarcasm). I can see us cutting back or cancelling our visit(s) if cart renting from Disney becom
  24. I wonder if he had to get any special authorization of occupancy for that. I think it is amazing and probably better built than many commercial 5ers.
