  1. I've been to Minneapolis when it was a wind-chilled -52F. I will tolerate Atlanta's occasional high teens, thank you.
  2. Anyone use one of these platforms to carry wheelchairs? Is 60 x 20 inch enough (for very occasional use)? Have you used a cover such as a grill cover? Does the mesh base in wet weather allow road spray/dirt to get under whatever you are carrying? Northern Tool has one for $80....some assembly required. Looking to carry two wheelchairs with push handles and foot rests removed. EDIT: I before E, except after C. Or when sounded as A, as in Neighbor or Weigh. I do know how to spell RECEIVER. But I don't know how to correct it.
  3. I did the GC and Mt Rushmore years ago in a '75 Class C 18 foot MH while on a business trip for the USAF. A fire at the Canyon forced us back to Williams for the night, and the wind battered the MH all night...sorta rocked us to a nervous sleep. At Mt Rushmore we blew an exhaust manifold and had to get that replaced in Rapid City before we could start for home. And a rare tornado threat scared us at a motel in Rapid City. Seems like somewhere during all this we saw the Canyon and the faces at Mt Rushmore.
  4. We've been to Branson twice. A nice place to visit, but except for the big name shows, it doesn't seem that different from the Dollywood area, which is much closer to us. Our biggest problem was the Ozark hills that made getting there quite an effort for our underpowered MH. There is a beautiful reservoir there...Corps of Engineers project, I believe.
  5. There's also a special Trolley that will give door-to-door service for special mobility needs. We used it several times to Dollywood in the past for 50 cents a person, and we could schedule pickup and delivery times to suit our schedule. We have stayed at River Plantation several times and the special trolley came right to our campsite. I think it will hold 4-5 wheelchairs, although some may need to be child sized. The regular run trolley has a stop right outside the campground...but it is a pretty good walk up the hill at the entrance.
  6. And Clark, Where did you come out....or did you have to backtrack to your entry point?
  7. I got another job for the arborists. The site across from me has a tree leaning precariously over the motorhome in that site....about 1015.
  8. We are not intended to be boat people this year. A few nights ago we were leaving the MK toward FW after the Christmas Party. We got out into Seven Seas Lagoon and were almost immediately ordered back to port. We were only told the entire boat fleet was out of service. I found out yesterday that a boat had sprung a fluid leak and dumped diesel in the water. Last evening, we had rrservations for the BYBBQ but decided to make a quick trip to the MK to get family photos with Santa. On the way to the MK, there was a funny sound from the engines as the boat accelerated past the water bridge.
  9. They found and shipped my cell phone two winters ago. Of course it had been run over by a truck or something and was no longer functional. At least they made the effort and got it back to me. Look at that! The ticker below recycles.
  10. Yep. We turned the lights strings off this evening. Incidently we have seen rangers go by much after 11 p.m. and not say a word about hthe decorations. I'm old enough to remember when the Fort was fun. They now seem to be cracking down on the wrong things...like not botheringthe 4 vehicles we saw at one site last evening.
  11. We have a whole house filter in a front basement compartment and i have second cheapie (carbon) one i use on the blue hose feeding from the city water source.
  12. We received two KTTW cards when we checked in Thursday. I haven't tried the MB's at the CS, but my MB (orange) would not work on the front gate. Somehow I got the gate open by waving the KTTW around the pad like a mad man...which I was becoming. Kinda glad we brought our own bathroom. We brought our own washer/dryer, but Judy doesn't like to use it.
  13. Saw them last year, but missed it in HDDR this evening. They put on a great show last year
  14. Dave, If you're out of touch, so am I. Your kids will grow to be much better citizens than those who desecrate other's property. They will appreciate you all the more for a proper teaching.
  15. Our Savannah, mixed breed (rescue), gets Kirkland Signature Natures Domain Turkey and Sweet Potato Formula for Dogs. Stated as Gluten Free and for all stages of a dog's life. It comes from Costco. She seems to tolerate it well, but still begs for whatever we're eating.
  16. Absolutely. Wind currents could sweep CO through the garage or other access and into living areas.
  17. Welcome. Hang around a couple of weeks and we'll be there.
  18. Whatever you get, if the need arises to use it, be sure it is carefully placed outside. We recently got a whole house generator (Kohler) and the installer relocated it from our desired location, saying it would have been under a bedroom window, and potentially just as dangerous as if it were being used indoors or in a garage.
  19. Does any family enjoy WDW any more than the TCD Family? A busy evening on a full stomach.
  20. Yes, we got a supply of Purex 3 in 1 laundry sheets off Amazon, too. And I have heard the coin machines occasionally give out a Canadian quarter which I've been told will not work in the laundry machines. Maybe someone can confirm or refute that. I don't have direct knowledge of this.
  21. I'll agree with Andrew if that includes us keeping our cargo trailer on our site. We store a lot of stuff the kids need from time to timeand it would be awkward to have to go to the overflow every few hours. When we drive our van in addition to the MH, we park the van in the overflow until we need it.
  22. We had one, but found we didn't use it much because of the size (storage space in the MH). Some people who have them put the finished cubes in a real freezer to harden them more. But the cubes do have a lot of air in them which contributes to them being soft....better for eating, but not for long lasting.
