  1. Happy to read your experience with plastic. Not happy for your experience, just in reading about it. I bought a roll of that stuff last time i cleaned our carpet, but never used it. Now I never will. Thanks for the report.
  2. After our daughter(s) bought our old Suncruiser, they painted the insides. From the pictures, it looks really good. I don't know what process they used, but she is an accomplished artist, so she knows her paints.
  3. I wonder how they evac the young and the infirm. I have concerns with bad backs and bad knees that can't crawl far and 2-3 kids in wheelchairs. Heights, I might deal with. Maybe Lou is right.
  4. Have you considered a Cricket instead of a GC? We had a dealer near us last week at RIver Plantation. Looks like it would work for a while until the kid grows too large...then buy a second Cricket. You would have to check to see if a Cricket would fold down to fit in the Jeep. They claim it will fit in a Minivan.
  5. We have used Cummins South in the past but they were located near the Farmers Market off I-75 on the south side. For the past couple of years we have used Apalachee RV in (pardon the expression) AUBURN GA. They have done sidewall repair, step replacement, generator rehab, etc. They are an authorized Onan shop.
  6. We were in 400 Christmas before last in a 37 foot Class A (plus cargo trailer) and did not notice any appreciable noise level. It was particularly convenient for us with two wheelchairs. Some sites in 400 are smaller and in fact a CM came to assist us in parking...this after we had been to the Fort 30-40 times before without any trouble parking. Be sure reservations knows the size of your rig and any slides or awnings to be deployed. We'll be there from early December, so if you get with AuburnJen and get a FortFiends sign to mark your territory (so to speak), you may have some other fien
  7. What Lou said. These Fiends are real people. We travel with 3-4 special needs kids and have gotten so much help from Fiends who just happen to be at the Fort at the time. Over the years we have had a few medical emergencies. The Fiends were there for us; providing transportation, giving rides for grocery pickups, serving meals, just a conversation when needed, etc. And the ones who aren't at the Fort are on line to provide encouragement and prayers for support. I think you will find you have stumbled onto a great group to associate with. And there is a lot to do at the Fort, so you don
  8. As stated above we have our Chair Lift installed on our newer MH. There is about a 3 1/2 inch wall between the door and full length window to allow mounting the upper bracket. We have used it extensively in the driveway getting ready for our next trip, and it is so much better than man-handling the teen into and out of the MH. We will also have the baby with us this time, so any labor saving device is a blessing. Now, if they all just had and could use power chairs. :wheelchair: Best of luck Angela, on making this move. Our two teens are essentialy total care as well, considering get
  9. Didn't I see a sign somewhere around the road to that back gate (the gate near the old kennel) that said no private vehicle traffic?
  10. Ours came from Amazon in the promised two days. I read the pamphlet and put it with stuff to be loaded in the next couple of days.
  11. We've stayed there (RP) several times and booked this stay months ago. Several years ago we tried to book close to the 4th and wound up in Newtown at a KOA. Don't forget to visit the Bush Bean museum while you're there...about 20 miles East of Sevierville. :partythree:
  12. Welcome Cody. Now you need to contact Jen to get your official yard sign so Fiends can find you at the Fort.
  13. Nacole, We will also be there for the 4th, for two weeks. We'll probably make 2-3 visits to DW during that time, but no water park. If you happen to see a couple of old folks with a couple (maybe 3) wheelchairs, stop by and say hello. We are staying at River Plantation RV Park in Sevierville.
  14. We've had a variety of raised twin, double, and queen air mattresses over the years. None seemed to last more than a season or two without developing small leaks...enough to go down during the night. We have mostly had Coleman and Ozark Trail.
  15. Do the 60 completely full busses include several large folded dual strollers with big wheels? And how do do the get the three ferry boats up on the monorail tracks?
  16. That's just TCD trying to get to the copula. :rofl2: Or the long absent Yuri?
  17. Of course putting the DVC in 1300 will put it next to the Meadows making it easier for the upper crust to mingle with us low life types....and to get their Fort souvenirs at the TP.
  18. Last night we ordered the PI 50A model similar to what DIT posted. It's not 100% protection, but will do until our inheritance comes in. :rofl3: This morning we got word it has been shipped, so we'll have it for our trip in 2 weeks. Oh, and we got it from Amazon, but Amazon also list several other sources for about the same price.
  19. i just saw a weather report that showed the jet stream moving up into Canada. That is leaving the whole USA in a heat zone, and Texas to Florida will be hit hardest.
  20. Gwen, Congrats on the post milestone. My post count is more like a millstone.
  21. I fell asleep during the midnight showing and woke up around 2:30 to see they were still showing new rigs....a horse trailer with people accommodations up front. Most expense went to the horses.
  22. Mo, I seem to recall the Christmas Parade was held in the late afternoon, maybe gather at 3:30 and move out at 4 p.m. (but always late leaving). I don't recall it being dark at the start, which it would be at 7 p.m.
