  1. We met "Donald" at AK bus depot last Christmas. Then at the campsite, Ray showed up. What a visit. Two scores for us on one trip. And of course we met with Lou several times. This year we will have a dog with us for the first time. We'll see how she takes to visitors.
  2. Not sure whether this should be confused with "Finding the Loo", say stall #2?
  3. I would be surprised if this is not a standard replacement part for any of the RV water heaters. Maybe someone has specific information on the Atwood.
  4. Camping World seems to always be running a sale on camper covers. They need some specifc measurements for your rig and info about top stuff such as AC's and vents, door placements, etc.
  5. About the only time we park hop is when we finish a park one of us likes less than another...EPCOT for DW and AK for me. Then we will sometimes go back to the MK for some evening time (or a fudge run), and it's only a quick boat ride back to the Fort. It's really something we could do without. Glad the mickey lamps were mentioned. I have some repair work to do on two of mine. That plastic globe will crack when it is knocked over.
  6. Yes, we live within sight of the Mountain, but rarely go there. We are also Dollywood AP holders, no Super, no water stuff, no coasters. But the kids like to go and we do a lot of other stuff in the area. I never leave the area without a new tool or accessory, for example. We go through Chattanooga and Knoxville, so it's 4-5 hrs in the MH.
  7. The lower numbers in 1200 are adjacent to a road, but beyond maybe 1220 or so, they are internal sites, and quieter. We like the 1200 loop, but mainly for the larger sites that make setting up our Christmas decorations easier. As for distances, the Fort is about a mile front to back and maybe a half mile across. The Meadows area is in the middle, and convenient to the 1200 and 1300 loops, among others. The Outpost is at the checkin end and the Settlement is at the other end. Wide paved sidewalks throughout, but with very little lighting after dark.
  8. Hi Meir... Even though we live within sight of the Mountain, we haven't been to the LaserShow in about 10 years, but have promised the kids we will go this summer, probably before we take off for Dollywood in a few weeks. Sorry I forgot to mention the internal busses. Unless we are close to the Settlement, we always use the internal busses to get to either the Outpost or the Settlement. If we're in 100-300, 400, 700, and maybe a few others we walk to the Settlement to catch either the boat to MK or the bus to the Outpost. And before someone else chimes in, we ALWAYS use Disney transpor
  9. And don't forget to link your two reservations together and provide any information concerning desired locations, loops, etc.
  10. Not sure how many moms and infants there will be, but most GC's seat four, although an extra small child or two can usually slip in. There are some 6-seaters available from Disney, but I understand these cannot be reserved ahead of time and you must prove you have more than 4 in your party (which you obviously can). Non-Disney GC's can be reserved including 6 seaters, but there may be a problem having a non-Disney delivered to your site(s) at the Fort. Also note the GC rides on the street and the scooter and bikes on the sidewalks. And the hubs mentioned are the bus stops at the Outpost (n
  11. Ours is stored in the driveway, uncovered...GA also. We're in and out of ours a lot and try to keep it mostly ready to roll. It's sorta between two tall houses that shade a lot of the sides/tires most of the day.
  12. This is the saddest topic of all. We usually pack most things the day before departure, but there is always the utilities to disconnect. When the power is transferred to the gennie, we know the end is near. Then there's that LONG drive home, no matter how short it might really be. Just one thing to look forward to: check the ticker to see how long until the next trip. "Happy Trails to You, Until We Meet Again."
  13. Last time I was there, they had a separate table set up across the lobby from the checkin/consierge desk just for online checkins. Seems like they were taking forever with one family.
  14. We use the batwing for local TV and a Verizon Jetpack for MiFi internet connection. We have a portable DISH we have used with a receiver from home for satellite reception, but usually just use cable if available. Our newer MH has a KingDome on the roof, but it is programmed for Direct and we use DISH. I need to reprogram it and see if I can get anything worth watching on it with a home receiver. We also have a weather radio, but i don't know how widespread/remotely it would work.
  15. My bad. Those 100+ degrees were not at the Fort, but at an IRV2 rally in Perrin TX about 5 years ago.The only cool place was the room where we had potluck suppers and some kids activities..
  16. Ok, We're after post #10, so ...I thought only the locals or "other resort guests" could use the pool and pavilion. Seriously it sounds like you have this cooler thing down to a fine art. We tried a portable ice maker a few years ago, but found it would not keep up with the 100+ temps. Gave it away to a daughter who loves it for parties.
  17. We have never used online checkin, but we have pulled into a checkin line and Judy has gone in to the desk to checkin with mixed results. Once she was ready before we reached the CM, and once we had to pull through and wait for her to come back out..
  18. DIT, I thought you were exclusively a 3000 patron. Has FWG gone up on the price? :wave1:
  19. We have had four Class A MH's, 28', 37', 37', and 37'. Also a Class C 18.5' in a previous life. All gassers. All bought used. All except the Class C towed a cargo trailer. Maybe a one MPG difference without the trailer and not running the generator. We would have nothing but a MH for many of the reasons stated above. We have rented but never towed a car. We take our GC in the trailer to every Fort visit. And DW has driven a van to our last two destinations for convenience in taking the kids and their wheelchairs to local events/attractions. Class C's have come a LONG way since our 75
  20. I guess you're there now. Hope you have a wonderful vacation.
  21. I* see the Cricket also has a weight limit of 600 pounds compared to 800 ounds for our EZGO. It looks like a great idea for a small family, though. But we could really use a 6 seater.
