  1. We use a cheapo Walmart grill, maybe 20 bucks. We've had it for several years. I just repainted it with high temp paint, so it's good for another decade or so....whether I am or not. We get the small propane bottles at Sams in 4-packs, as I recall.
  2. As of today, you're inside of 4 months. Hooray! Best wishes to a deserving family. I hope everything works out this time.
  3. When you press the flush lever, you move the flapper valve (may be flat or rounded) which opens the toilet bowl to the tank below. That valve rides in a slotted gasket or seal. Sometimes the slot gets enough residual stuck in it that it needs to be cleaned. I used a toothbrush (an old one or my wife's) to run around the seal to clean the slot. If this does not allow water to stand in the bowl, the seal may need to be replaced. But some people report putting vaseline in the slot helps prolong the life of the seal and helps improve the sealing action. And again, let the valve slam shut to
  4. Ice only works to loosen and break up any solids in the black tank, and must be done while you are moving to get the necessary sloshing action. Other chemicals work in the tank...I suggest formaldehyde-free chemicals to break down the crud in the tank and provide some odor control. The chemicals would just stay in the tank until you are able to dump. Repeat applications might be necessary if it sits in the hot sun for long periods. Can I assume there is water (or something) in the tank? Also Is the bowl holding water? If not, Sealand suggests you let the valve slam shut to insure a good
  5. Just give me a simple cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day. Last winter it was mostly Keurig...a fancy one in the S&B, and a simple one in the MH. But so far we haven't found a sugar free chocolate K-Cup, so I'm limited.
  6. And just yesterday I asked Judy if Lou was coming in for the Red Sox games next week. 26 and 27, I believe. EDIT: Yep. Just checked. 26 and 27 in ATL, then 28 and 29 up Nawth. A four game home and home series.
  7. Santa, If I tried that, I would come upon an unfriendly snake. I gladly got ours the new-fashioned way....from a couple of Fiends.
  8. Yes, Lou, Judy is still here, but she has been under the weather for a month or so and doesn't spend much time on the computer except to do paperwork for the kids. She seems to be in a recovery mode now :heartsmiley: and we are planning our Dollywood trip (2 wks, around July 4th).
  9. That shoe looks mighty uncomfortable. I could never wear it. Could you?
  10. The sites around 536-54x are around the CS, but are nice and big enough for our 37 foot MH and cargo trailer. Not to mention a bunch opf Christmas decorations.
  11. Happy for you. We are December visitors every year and book the next year before we leave, if possible. But we have gone through your frustration using a TA who makes the calls for us. You may already know TA's do not cost you anything directly, but get a cut from Disney. There are a couple TA's within Fort Fiends that have been great at getting seemingly unavailable reservations....and they do all the work after you tell them when you want to go. :wave1:
  12. The cabin people are always a step above us trailer dwellers. :welcome: But welcome to the Fiends. There is lots of good information passed around here, and some useless stuff, too. You will quickly learn to discern between the two....usually after Post No. 10.
  13. Unlike whoever Carol referred to, we LIVE in Stone Mountain and never go INTO the Park, except to visit at a couple of GG's. In years gone by I have ridden the train once, back when it was a steam train. I have walked up the mountain once, when I was younger, and I have never visited the village (or whatever they call it), ridden the ducks, or the tram. We used to ride through looking at Christmas decorations (sort of a poor man's looping), but they have moved most to the village (or whatever they call it) where you have to pay extra to get in. I haven't even seen the LASER show in maybe 1
  14. We have AP's at Disney AND Dollywood, so we get to each at least once a year. This year we are planning Dollywood for July 4th and Thanksgiving. July for us in the motorhome, Thanksgiving for more family in a "cabin". Then Disney at the Fort for Christmas/NewYears. Shawnee loves the train and the hamburgers, although he is also getting to like Aunt Grannie's Buffet (all you care to eat). Since we found the path by Aunt Grannie's toward the train it is much easier to get the wheelchairs up to the train than going up the steeper slope directly in front of the train. There are any numbe
  15. We stop at the Inn&Out every trip, even though we're only coming from the Atlanta area. It's not much in itself, but it's convenient to I-75 and has lots of fast foods, WalMart, and a Home Depot or Lowes nearby. I HAVE to remember to look and see which it is next trip. There's also a gas and propane station at the front, and a Subway in the building with the office. They used to have a bunch of permanent parties near the front, but those were mostly gone and are supposed to be all gone by now. New management is trying to upgrade the place. We used to get a space in the rear, which ar
  16. We bought used, electric, EZGO. It's a 2003 model that we bought in 2008. The seller added front and back lights and a folding windshield. I wish I had brake lights and turn signals. I find myself constantly reaching for the turn lever. I added a remaining power (volt) meter. There are severaltypes, and others may know more than I do about them. We added a long top to cover the rear seat and a rain cover to ward off the cold and wet while we are at the Fort around Christmas. I replaced the 6 (?) gage wiring with 0000 welding cable, and sprayed the connections with that red stuff that preve
  17. Welcome Jed(i). Thanks to you and your family for your service and their sacrifice. Quite a number of us have kids (or adults) with special needs, so you're just family here. Our trips are usually around Christmas, and we hope to run into y'all at the Fort someday. :mh1:
  18. I agree with Shanta: (No loops have WiFi. Modems are available for checkout from the meadows trading post), and Jason: (at no cost). Oh, but they do charge you if you do not return the modem when you leave. We have used a Verizon Mifi device for several years and never had a problem (4G). We had a 5GB package and found we ran over during our Christmas month. We currently have the newer Jetpack which has caused us more problems than our older unit.
  19. Are Cloudland sites big enough for our 37 foot MH? You say you didn't have a sewer, but do they have some full hookup sites? And what's a Red vs Blue site?
