  1. Really. I wonder why? You would think it would happen to coaster type rides more. Hmmmm.....
  2. With the popularity of mine train, I would FP it. If you can't get it, head there first from the front of the rope drop line. We were there at opening and still stood in line for an hour to ride it. Wondering if Space's stand-by line at opening has chilled some because of it? Anyone?
  3. Just got notice that our bands for our trip first weekend in October have been shipped. It would be nice if they worked on the CSs this time. Hate trying to dig around the tent in the dark to find a card in the middle of the night....
  4. Thrill Shakespeare and I (along with our 2 little Shakespearelets - boys 6 and 9) will be tent camping marathon weekend. If you and your friend make it over to check out the campsites be sure and check out the 1500 loop. We hope to be there. The 2000 loop also has tent/pop up campsites - bigger loop but just not as close to the Meadow. I assume you are running? Which races? Thrill runs. I only chase our kids.
  5. Oooh, Oooh, I'm first! Yahoo! Can't wait to hear all about your trip. And congrats and happy shopping for your motor home!
  6. I was 6 years old. I lived (where I grew up) about an hour north of Tupelo, MS (where Elvis was born) and about 2 hours from Graceland in Memphis so we heard a LOT about Elvis. I remember local TV coverage and newspapers showing the mob of mourners. I remember being amazed at people screaming and fainting over someone that they hadn't even met.
  7. If Sarah has an iPhone then you can download the My Disney Experience app. You can link your info there. That way you always have fastpass+ and dinner ressies in one place and can access/change it anytime. The free wifi in the parks has gotten really good. But I do like having paper copies of things!!!
  8. I know! I just looked it up on their site so I could paste it here. When we used it in March we got rider + 3.
  9. According to Disney's "official rules" you aren't really supposed to take that many the second time, though: To Use Rider Switch: 1. Check that Rider Switch is offered at the attraction in question by asking a Cast Member. 2. Enter the normal queue with your entire party. At least one adult member of your party and the Guest who will not be riding will then be issued a Rider Switch Pass and asked to wait in a designated area. This group is “Party 2.” 3. The remaining party members, “Party 1,” ride the attraction. 4. After riding the attraction, Party 1 locates Party 2. The non-rider is th

  11. Actually, yes. Check ahead of time for which rides have rider swap because not all do. BUT, just ask the CM when you get into line. (Entire party may need to be there when asking so they can see the little ones.) They will give you something that looks like an old fastpass ticket. Your party rides and when you get off you sit with the wee one and that group that just rode with you (up to 3 people) now rides again with the parent that sat out first. It seems a little unfair to others in line, but I guess the thought is that the group traveling/putting up with littles could use a few perks
  12. I'm in. Have a great trip - looking forward to hearing more!
  13. I'm in! Can't wait to hear a PUP story! I am going to be jealous!
  14. Since we live 7 - 10 hours away from grandparents (opposite directions at that) our kids travel several times a year. It works because it has to. I am glad for the experiences they have and think it is good for them. Holidays away from home? Almost all of them. Now, having said that, there are a few items I could not have done it without: *DVD players for the back seat *Monkey leash (pick your animal - Walmart sells a toddler backpack with strap that is cute and what kept me from losing my toddler at Disney. Some people think it is cruel - I didn't care - we haven't lost a kid yet. O
  15. I would say that is a pretty good article. I have not gone on an airplane since having kids so nothing to add there. We did take both boys to WDW as infants, but not on big trips. Our oldest first went at 7 months. That was back when you could keep days on your ticket for later trips without paying through the nose. We had one day left and met our in-laws in Kisimmee for night on the way down to their house for Thanksgiving in South Florida. I carried waaaaay too much stuff for him. His diaper bag was bigger than he was. We rented a stroller and used it to haul the bag and let him nap i
  16. I still have my magnet though the background is purple instead of brown now. Has anyone else's done that? BUT, we traded cars over the weekend and the back of my new Journey is not metal so it doesn't stick anywhere. I could put it on the side, but that just isn't the same. DH has a Fort Wilderness tag that he isn't using and it matches my "Copperhead Pearl" orange car very well. I just need a tag mount on the front. Not sure if I get a tag in October when we go or use his now and replace his then (he uses it as decor in his office.)
  17. Our youngest has low blood sugar so I never know when he will go pale and weak in a ride queue on me. I take small bags of peanuts, granola bars, and cheese or peanut butter cracker packs in my backpack. We carry water bottles that we refill and the Minute Maid drink drops (no artificial color - hard to find those water flavorings w/out it). We do usually eat at least one meal a day in a park restaurant or drive into Kissimmee to eat.
  18. Marty, I do my meatloaf in muffin tins a lot. It cooks faster and doesn't get as dry. BUT, you really want to use a very lean beef like 93 - 7. With the lean meat a little cooks out and then reabsorbs right after cooking. Once at my mom's I tried it with the ground beef from her freezer - fat content unknown. We had to pull them out of the oven and pour grease off twice. NASTY!
  19. I am definitely looking forward to it. Rumor has it that some parts will be changed from the musical script. Loving the stage version as I do, I am not sure how I feel about that. Thrill directed it and I stage managed it when I was 8 months pregnant with our oldest. Working on the show while expecting our first child - a son- was a very moving experience for us. However, I really did like Maleficent - changes and all. Either way, hopefully people will see the movie and then be open to seeing the live stage version. Nothing beats live theatre - in the audience or behind the scenes!
