  1. Which begs the question: is it better not to know anything or to know that you don't know something???
  2. Grumpy that they quit selling the brown and orange car tags just after I bought a copper orange car! I think my sweet DH may let me have the one that is decorating his office. Still, they could have easily gotten that extra 20 bucks from me......
  3. Only someone who has gone through what she has would truly understand. Prayers for her this week; proof that the hurt never goes away - you just use it to bless others.
  4. As long as you tell the resort guards you plan to spend money they let you right in!
  5. It has been there through all my visits so it is all I know. Of course, I am against anything that hides a theatre. Thrill hates it. Always has. Move it! Move it! Move it!
  6. We are quite fond of our spike, too. It sits on our mantle next to a Disney Traditions collectible (All Aboard - Mickey driving a patchwork train engine). This week I added something else to the display- a small jar of Fort sand. Our tent was pretty damp when we packed it up to come home. We spread it out to dry and then swept it off. Hmmmm..... A nice little pile of sand remained. What's a sappy Fiend to do? Bottle it up and keep it to remind me of home!
  7. Thanks for the movie review. I have been wondering what it was like since it seems that the book was simply a jumping off place for the movie. Wasn't sure how I felt about it since I absolutely LOVE the book. For those who haven't read the book, here is the general idea: Alexander wakes up one day and EVERYTHING goes wrong - gum in his hair, teacher doesn't like his drawing, no dessert in his lunchbox, only plain sneakers in his size at the store, kissing shows on TV, peas for dinner, etc. Nothing bad happens to his brothers. He decides he wants to move but his mom assures him that eve
  8. Wonderful trip report! You out-did yourself. I guess I will have to go back and read it again from the beginning because I don't want it to end either. So, so, so glad you all had such a wonderful time.
  9. Hey! We resemble that remark! Oh, wow, do I ever understand this!!! Andy (Thrill Shakespeare) and I met onstage when he was directing and I was in the nuns' chorus of Sound of Music at a community theatre.
  10. In all our trips to WDW I had not witnessed a "lost child" situation until this last weekend. While having a Casey's hot dog picnic on the sidewalk I saw 2 female CMs wearing white blouses and dark skirts (simple, plain, professional but unlike any uniforms I had seen) bringing a little boy with a Superman shirt up to a uniformed security officer. All three adults bent down to talk with the little boy and then the 2 ladies took him one way as the officer went the other. About 10 minutes later I saw a distressed looking woman wearing a Superman shirt running into Casey's and a CM pointing he
  11. I have a feeling that they allow it because someone might lose their band while in the park, but still have their original ticket on them which will work because the FPs were put on your account, not just that band. I suppose in the future that your account might be "activated" when you use your card or band to enter the park. In the meantime, enjoy the loophole... But, since the CMs can (at least on some ride entrances) see the name listed for the band I wouldn't chance using an obviously different gender name's band. I have been welcomed a few times by name when I scanned my band at a r
  12. I think it would really depend on what sort of CM job I ended up with. For example, I really don't want to clean bathrooms or hotel rooms. I don't think I could handle the fast pace of food service. I might not enjoy standing all day in the hot sun loading people on rides. But it would be cool to check people into their hotels at the beginning or their trips - when the kids are bouncing up and down and about to explode in excitement - or maybe work in a gift shop. I do believe that you would have to switch from the mentality that" the place is magical" to "the people help make it magical.
  13. She is just gorgeous! Your hard work is really paying off. May she have many, many more years of adventures in her!
  14. We love 1500!!! Sadly, those sites were all booked for that same weekend by the time we made reservations. We'll be putting our tent up with the RVers a loop or 2 over. DH (Thrill Shakespeare on here) will be doing the TOT race, too. Hope to meet you; if you don't have a sign get Lou to bring you a general Fiends loaner (if you want to be found!) :wave1: Welcome!
  15. Wish we'd known! We could have joined you! Glad you were able to squeeze in a short trip. Definitely a good cure for cabin fever!
  16. Yep, you pretty much have us figured out. We'll welcome you, tease you, and pray for you. If you put a sign out at your campsite or post your site numbers you will likely be harassed visited. Glad to have ya. Welcome aboard!
  17. And why can't they understand to remove the child from said stroller and fold it the BEFORE the tram or bus gets to them? :banghead:
  18. True friends will understand your love for all things Disney no matter your/your kids ages. Hmmm.......Maybe that's why we have no social life......
  19. We have stayed in the cabins a few times. They are very comfortable. The bedroom has a full size bed and a set of bunkbeds (which are great for the kids) and the living room has a murphy bed. The kitchen is great for having meals in - full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove, etc.. The bathroom is nice, but lines can form with 6 people...... The only crowded area for us was the dining table. It is great for about 4 people, tight for 6. We have never rented a cart either with cabins, tent, or camper, but I admit it would be nice for looping. We don't need it for getting around
