  1. Man, I would so love those shoes. I wore Keds/Vans style tennis shoes all through my teens and twenties. Now I can't wear anything that flat. Pity. Oh well, have to find some other way to blow money at Disney. I doubt I will have any problem...
  2. In. First page? Wow, haven't gotten that in a while. Have fun. Congrats on the discount; I love a good deal!
  3. Great TR! Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
  4. I agree with DIT. I pray everything goes smoothly and the family can make some special memories. Some friends of ours got to go a year or so ago with Give Kids the World. Their son has a heart condition that really rules their lives. At this point it isn't considered terminal, but there is only so much the doctors can do and they certainly give him all they can not knowing what the future holds. His mom was so touched by how much was done on the trip for their other son. The whole family was made to feel special, too. Please give them our best wishes and let them know they are being lift
  5. The main difference between them and the Brazilians are the hairbows..... (No disrespect to cheering Fiend families, I was just amazed at how HUGE the bows were at the cheer/dance competition we took the dance teams to at Disney. Thrill's propdance team had 9 guys - Americheer/Ameridance had to hunt around and find last year's backpacks to give them as goodie bag gifts instead of hairbows.)
  6. I camped at a few places in Mississippi growing up - nothing special - more about being with friends. I had a nasty bike wreck at Tippah Lake in my preteens. Don't have an urge to go back there. Thrill and I have camped at a KOA in north GA. Wouldn't recommend it - only there because of him doing the Chickamauga marathon. So, can I just say I WISHED we lived in Florida so I could just say THE FORT!
  7. Would love to go that first week in December! We have done Thanksgiving week a few times (gets more crowded every year) but not after that with the exception of the year when you got in free on your birthday (mine is 12/6). That really didn't count for general crowd level because it was Christmas parade taping day at MK. Main Street was closed but the rest of the park was Heaven! Check dates for the parade taping this year and if it coincides with your trip just do another park that day. If you like to stand in one spot for hours and "react" over and over for the camera and the overproduc
  8. Finally caught up! Great TR so far. Mickey D's can be forgiven since you had the full Irish breakfast. Black pudding.....YUM! That was a good looking plate. Keep it coming!
  9. Others with RVs will be along to tell you more info, but I suggest getting the Fort Fiends app. It will tell you the exact measurements of every site and a picture. Armed with that info and the size of your camper you could put the sites that you would fit into in a message on your reservation. Hope it all works out for a wonderful trip!
  10. "After riding The Seas, we spent some time looking around in the aquarium before heading to Living with the Land. We had time to kill before our Test Track FP+ so Sarah suggested we do Ellen’s Energy Adventure. It was a nice nap. And that is all I have to say about that." It would have probably been a better nap if Ellen had kept her mouth shut.....
  11. Though we live in GA now, when we visited Niagara Falls we were living in Detroit so we went through Canada and only saw that side. Everyone I have talked to about it says that the Canadian side of the falls is prettier anyway. Are you planning to RV up and back or hotel? Praying for health and safety for your gang!
  12. Here are a couple more sites to meander through. I haven't gotten into Disney Bounding but it sounds like fun. It is a neat, fashionable way to get around the rule that adults can't dress in costume in the parks (a wise decision on Disney's part, I believe). This sort of thing takes a lot more creativity and thought anyway. http://blog.touringplans.com/2014/09/11/disneybounding/ http://disneybound.tumblr.com/
  13. I love how Sarah bounded as Ariel. Any other bounding on this trip? Loving the report - what a special time for you two!
  14. Great job on your trip report! I can second the recommendation for Fort Camper Rental - an easy way to experience pop up camping. We had camped in Thrill's parents' 1970 pop up and wanted to see how the newer ones faired. Loved it! We hope to get one for ourselves in a year or so.
  15. We tent camp, use coolers, have never rented a golf cart (we do have vehicle with us if we need to drive to Kissimmee for more affordable food once a trip) and make it fine. We don't mind the interior Fort bus rides but would like to have a golf cart to loop and find other Fiends - it just hasn't been a place we could drop money yet. We travel with a box fan, a panini for cooking, and an attitude of adventure! Enjoy your trip - whatever you decide!
  16. Baldrick is a character on Black Adder - a British sitcom from the 80s/90s - not really for kids. As for Peppa Pig, it is a preschool show but not nearly as popular as anything Disney makes.
  17. Great report; enjoyed following along. I learned several things and felt good about already being familiar with Peppa Pig (our boys have outgrown it - pity - it was a great way to work on my Euro-trash dialect) and Black Adder. You really should catch some Black Adder episodes - Andy recommends season 2 - the set would be called Black Adder II. It takes place in the Elizabethan era. As the show progresses through the seasons Baldrick gets smarter and Black Adder gets, well, dumber. My favorite line - "Baldrick, to you the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people."
  18. I agree. Festival of Fantasy is the FIRST daytime parade I felt worthy of getting out of a ride line to watch. Congrats on the fire pics! I love the costumes (some are quite strange, yes) and how creative they are. I think I am most intrigued by the "thorn guys" in front of Steampunk Flamethrower.
  19. Great guesses. Here is one more pic a bit further away from it (or one of the many in the area). It is a "rain chain" (I believe they are Japanese in origin). There are a few of them hanging around the perimeter of the covered area in the Mine Train queue. Going from the roof line to the ground, they provide a soothing, gentle way for water to drain from the roof either from rain or (in this case) the ride's water features. There may not be any in the fastpass queue; I have only been in the stand-by queue.
