  1. We had gotten caught up in this changing reservation to less days mess last month and this month. I had thought we had finally gotten it taken care of the beginning of May. We have been getting ready the past week for our trip this long Memorial Day weekend when I get two letters yesterday from Disney Destinations. Each one showed that our new reservation days and the dates they were changed to. So I casually look thru the typical stuff of having a magical stay, how about adding dining, etc. until I get to near the end where it says I owe more $$ for my down payment. My reservation f
  2. How about 10 things to do with the kids before they grow up? Not necessarily traveling. Take/teach them how to fish Take then kayaking Enter a charity walkathon, teach them to help others Volunteer, get involved in an environmental/community cause, hands across the sand, beach clean up day, habitat for humanity Build and fly a kite Frisbee Hiking/biking Plant a garden
  3. There are plusses and minuses to private cars and Disney transportation. BUS PRO The busses are closer to the entrance/exits of the parks unless you have a disabled sticker. Quicker getting out of the park and heading back home. Not as long of a walk. You can relax and let Disney do the driving You can enjoy a few adult beverages without worrying about a DUI. The air has been running all day on the busses, don't have to wait for a sweltering car to cool off. CON If you are leaving at park closing you may be waiting a while for an available bus because of the crowds You are going to be in a
  4. You hit the nail on the head!! We just used the parking lot trams a couple of weeks ago for the first time in probably over 8 years or more. What a change. Old ones didn't have doors, you got a quick message to keep kids in the middle, don't have appendages hanging out, then a quick horn toot and away you went. Now it takes what seems like 15 minutes from the time you load to the time you pull away. Take busses, or try to get a parking space so you can walk to the admission gate.
  5. How long was the ship out of its port. The one time we took a cruise the pool stayed empty until it was quite a ways out from land, then they pump fresh seawater into it.
  6. They will be expensive, but possibly not as much as the Poly. Sounds like they will be on the shoreline and not on a pier. And they won't have as good of view of the MK fireworks.
  7. Made these today. Now the drop from the camper floor to the intermediate step is about 3 inches, maybe less. Of course that made the drop to the ground larger so made a step for underneath the original PUP step. Shouldn't have any problems with the ground step at the Fort since everything is pretty level.
  8. Guests queuing at Darth's Mall this morning were being advised that the wait time may be up to four hours to enter the stores. There is a separate queue for each shop, so to see them all may take some time. If Disney was smart, they could've burned up the guests 3 Fast Passes for the shops!
  9. For the low low prince of $55 per person! Will be interesting to see what it really costs.
  10. Depends on what you are looking to do. Nature The NE is a good choice, Maine is impressive with it's shoreline and wooded areas that go for miles. NY Catskills and Adirondack mountains, Hudson Valley, Vermont in the fall/winter for the maple processing. Colorado Spring with The Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak Florida Everglades History Hudson Valley in NY Washington DC. You can spend a week there easily and still find new things to do Boston Museums/Kids Centers DC see above. Smithsonian and the mint we a lot of fun. NYC Boston Seaquarium... one of the best we'
  11. One poster said he couldn't find a light up Christmas necklace anywhere in the park last year, he had to go home and order one off of ebay at a lot higher price. The shops told him they sold out the first week or so. Just like that photo of the guy carrying all of the Cinderella popcorn coaches the resellers swoop in and buy up everything in sight. I was doing Vinylmations for a while, and the limited release ones for passholders had a 1 per pass limit. Let them spread the joy around. And they did scan the passes (cards back then, no Tragic Bands).
  12. If I have decent cell signal, I can easily go all day on a charge. Get to an area where it's constantly searching (my work building), and by the time I get home it's down to 40 %. Here are a few things to try, keep location turned off (unless you are looking for something) turn auto brightness on if there is WiFi turn that on, but only if you are using a lot of data and have poor cell service, and make sure it locks in and doesn't contantly search turn off Bluetooth unless you are using it I just downloaded a free app last night called clean master. It's supposed to clean up the phone
  13. Without swimming the higher 70's with low to mid humidity is great. Mid to higher 80's with mid humidity is great for swimming and other outdoor activities. 90's is good for hanging out by a pool and sitting in the shade with a fan blowing. Or for watching the crazed tourists running around like madmen/women having heat strokes at the parks trying to get everything done on their pre planned spreadsheets! They took everything into account, except the blast furnace know as summer in the Sunshine state. Disney must make a fortune selling dry shirts to the people that have sweated thru t
  14. Take this with a grain of salt. It may or may not be true, especially with the interweb and photoshop. Saw a FB blurb last night on a Disney merchandise collectors page (couldn't find it this morning) about a special pre sale day yesterday for the new Star Wars merchandise I think at HS? Don't know if it was for passholders, invitees, or just a sneak sale. There was a picture of a woman with trash bags full of assorted items. The poster said she had spent over $30K, and was planning on coming back today and spending another $15K. Speculation was that she's an ebay reseller. Comment
  15. Will transportation to and from the Fort to the MK be running for the entire 24 hours? What about internal Fort busses? I see the shirt isn't available I guess at the park until 5/22, but you could've ordered it on line ahead of time?
  16. 2600 has a bus stop right outside of it. We had the first cabin on the left and we could walk thru our "yard" to the stop. If I'm not mistaken that is the highest #'d cabin, I think they go from lowest to highest starting on the right and going counter clockwise. I will try to get you the #.
  17. Do you have to keep wiping the lens? I carry mine on my belt in a Ballistic case. The screen faces in, so the lens faces out. I guess my arm rubs against it and smears it.
  18. I have a Note 3 and mine don't look nearly as good, plus it's always sitting there saving if it's slightly low light. One thing I find, is that I always have a smear on the lens, and sometimes I forget to wipe it off before snapping a picture. Gives the pictures that hazy look and feel. Not to great for action shots of my granddaughters!
  19. We hate the cold also, but it seems like it's gotten real hot early this year.
  20. I don't usually go inside the stations when I get gas, but they seem to have kept the same signage in the windows, just changed the name and colors. This is the lunch menu from their website. They show pizza, not sure if it's the same. They have a rewards card/app, and just about anything you purchase gives you points.
