This news makes me so sad.  I think this property will have such a negative effect on the Fort.  Sad because it’s all getting too expensive, sad because it’s all getting too crowded, sad because we have so many sweet family memories there...and I see the time to make more of those memories, slipping away.  Just sad 🙁

Yay... more of the SW!!   My brother-in-law was stationed in Sierra Vista for several years.  We visited once... decent town.  Your kiddos are so cute :) 

Yes!  We LOVED White Sands!  Couldn't believe how large it was!  And you were right... no problems with the rig.  It's really nice that they let you drive in there with your home.  Makes staying all day, super easy!
Loved the rest of your trip!  Isn't Capitol Reef amazing?!  I couldn't believe the colors there.  Bryce Canyon too.  All of the SW actually.  Hard not to love it all.  Arches in on our list... but not for a few years.  Next year I'm hoping to check the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque off the bucket list.  If we get to go, we'll also hit Mesa Verde.  Really wanted to do that this past trip... but (even with 4 weeks), just not enough time.  Have you hit Zion yet?  If not... that NP is a MUST do!
Thanks for taking us along on the journey.  2,000 miles in 9 days... y'all are crazy!  Great times!!

Yup, totally agree. We took our kids on many road trips starting when they were very young. We visited most of the major cities on the east coast and went to Canada twice, including an adventure to Niagara Falls, Toronto and Cedar Point last summer. This summer I felt I had to give my now college student the option of going with us on a road trip to a wedding  and he chose not to (although I'm not proud to say I'm now trying to guilt him into it).  As for them remembering. every so often I pull out a photo album and show my kids a trip we took when they were younger and they actually enjoy seeing the photos and hearing my stories (if they are brief) as long as they are in the photos and the stories are about them. 
Enjoyed your trip so much. The photos are stunning. I can only imagine the real views were even moreso.

We've done this as well.... or they've allowed us to walk up, but made us wait 20 minutes only to seat us in a near empty restaurant.  It's a buffet people.  Put in a coffee/juice machine and the entire floor could be ran by a staff of 2 people.  
I agree with you... why?  Makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah... Disney and their musical strollers, is a bit "interesting".  One time, we got some extra FPs because a CM had moved our stroller to a completely different parking area (no where near the parking area that we left it in).  I guess the CM was new and didn't get the concept of the "musical strollers".  Can't say I blame him... I don't really get it, either 

Don't even get me started.... 3 families (with usually 3-5 people per family) in one site.

I wonder if this will cut down, on the freeloaders at the Fort.  It will be interesting to see.  Mercy...I hope they don't decide later, to add the fee to tow vehicles.  The rates at the Fort already choke our budget.

That's an interesting thought.  I wonder how many people would pay it and how many others, simply would not come.  If they charged it, I guess they'd need to give you some sort of sticker (?) to put on your cart to show that you paid.  
 
I agree with this.  I've said, darn near the same thing, to Tom for years.  I'm not understanding WHY this doesn't happen.  Violators on golf carts put people at risk, sometimes serious risk and (if not), they are tearing up the campground and/or causing a huge ruckus.   
Rules people.  
But see, I also don't like it when people back their trailers up on the dirt/woods behind their campsites... or when 3 tents and 3-5 families are on one site... or (my favorite) when a site is just canopies, tables and a huge projection screen.  Yeah... if we were parked next to that, we request a move... fast.  

Yes.  Not only (paying) guests... but I have to wonder, how many bodies we see around the Fort, are just locals coming in for the day.  For them especially, the rules never seem to apply.
