  1. Looks like it was started by fireworks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIaG3sLhfqY#t=11 News Story
  2. Same here. I got an autographed copy of 3/2122, but it is Rev B dated 29 June 2012.
  3. Oh no, I don't mean that. These were very bright flood lights, not the smaller porch lights. They very well may have forgotten about them anyway. Didn't bother us at all, but I can assume it may have bothered those right next to them.
  4. Only thing I noticed a couple of weeks ago was people leaving their outside BRIGHT lights on all night.
  5. To further illustrate the fallacy of this point, 300 IT workers at Disney received their severance notices today.
  6. However, at Disney I've asked if I can get a kids meal since I was not very hungry and I was told, "Of course. The age is to describe who that amount would be suitable for." Don't know if that was true or not, but they said it is OK.
  7. Over the last several months, I've noticed several low flying aircraft over Disney World, defintiely under 3,000 ft. I wondered about it since I assumed the ban was still in place. Perhaps this is an attempt to re-emphasize the ban. I also wonder if the penalties for violation are different if the ban is permanent. There are many instances right now of increasing security all over, so this may just be part of it.
  8. One always stands out. Several years ago, my mother in law came down from NJ to visit. It was her first visit since my father in law passed away about 5 months earlier. We decided to take her to Yachtsman's Steakhouse since her and my father in law loved eating there. When I checked in, I asked for a nice table by the window and explained the situation. We were given a great table, and after we were seated, the server came over and handed my mother in law a long stemmed rose. My mother in law asked the server why she was getting it, and she replied, "Just because you're special". Over the cour
  9. You hit the nail on the head. I've seen some cast members, young and old, where you just want to ask them why in the world they are working there. There are certainly other jobs that are less demanding that pay at least as good (which isn't saying a whole lot). There are some that NEVER use their passes to get into the parks, and will say that they never want to be near Disney when they are not working. You're right, they just need a job, and don't think about where they are working, yet will not work elsewhere. Some may look at the CPs as "snotty spoiled college kids", but many don't.
  10. And over the years, what is considered usual and customary increases as the job becomes more routine and the pressures and requirements of the job take a toll. TCD stated above how his daughter didn't like working the resort with the older women. Unfortunately I've seen this happen because the older workers have gotten used to the "Magic", they see how the place has changed over the years (much stronger emphasis on profit over quality) and some get upset with the CPs a bit, not personally, but because when the CPs are brought in the schedule hours (and therefore money) are often taken away f
  11. Dropped my wife off at work this morning around 6:30AM at DU. Driving past Magic Kingdom, you could see the castle all lit up for Christmas. Looked great as usual. I assume they were testing the lights.
  12. Remember, this year you have to print multiple copies of your tickets, one each for the parks, miniature golf, Disney Quest and the water parks.
  13. Lou, You are still correct, since in terms of the dining discount, the cast member MUST be present. While I can use my silver pass (as the husband of a CM) to get the merchandise discounts, I cannot get a dining discount. My wife must be there and show her ID, not silver pass.
  14. That's good to know, thanks. We went through that area in September on our way home and after stopping at the Cracker Barrel in Pennsacola, we drove through Tallahassee and stopped at a rest stop. had we known the Camping World had spots like that, we may have given that a try.
  15. We've gone to Chefs de France quite a few times for lunch. We always enjoy it. Enjoy Biergarten as well. I would add, since you're making reservations, that we ate lunch at the Coral Reef last Friday for the first time in a couple of years. Neither my wife nor I were impressed at all. We got the Mahi Mahi at $26.95 (I think), and not only was the serving fairly small, it was also very bland. Basically unseasoned fish on white rice. There was a coconut/lemon spread that came with it on the side, but it wasn't too good. The trout or salmon may have been a better choice. If you are con
  16. Some of those decorations were pretty extensive! We enjoyed them as well. Glad you had a great time.
  17. Don't have a Fiends sign. If you remember a red Ram 1500 with a cast member sunshade in the window and a silver camper, that was us. We were in spot 223. You had great weather for your trip!
  18. When you find out let me know. I thought it sounded good. :D
  19. Walked past your camper this weekend. We were in the 200 loop. Looked like nobody was home. Glad you had a great time. My wife is a cast member and we get 40% off of lunch and breakfast. Technically it is limited to the number of people on your Maingate/Silver Pass, but most restaurants that participate give it to your table unless it is out of hand. Can't beat breakfast at Trails End at any price.
  20. Lou, you're causing me to be overwhelmed with entertainment euphoria! (Is that positive enough?)
  21. Doesn't look bad through the 30th. Right now, at least in Clermont, it is sunny and 78 degrees. CLICK HERE FOR FORECAST http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=lake+buena+vista
