  1. Just got back a few weeks ago from a trip from Florida to the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, and Canyonlands National Park. It was a great trip. It was our third trip to the canyon (2 times south rim and once north rim) and second time to Arches. All stops were fanatastic and are not to be missed. Wrote a short trip report and added links to more pictures here: http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/13874-florida-to-arizona-and-utah/ Do yourself a favor and make reservations to stay at Trailer Village inside the Grand Canyon National Park (assuming you're taking a camper). We'v
  2. The Hess on 536 just before you get to the Greeneway is usually one of the cheaper stations. DISCLAIMER: Not always. :)
  3. I never knew there used to be so many preferred sites.
  4. Thanks for the comment about the photo at Delicate Arch. The last time we were there, about 10 years ago, my wife and daughter went out to the arch and I did not. Ever since that day, I told myself I needed to go back there and go all the way out to the arch, and I did. I can check that off of my list. We would go back there in a heartbeat though. :) The weather was beautiful. It was not hot at all, and surprisingly, Utah was a bit hotter than the Grand Canyon due to a slight difference in elevation. Nights would fall into the low to mid 50's and the highs would range from upper 70's
  5. For those that are interested, I'm posting links as I upload more pictures: ARCHES NATIONAL PARK https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.979096765450687.1073741835.100000511177427&type=1&l=1c28bb9f93
  6. The recent rains have brought some of them out around Clermont, FL. Drove to work via Disney this morning and didn't hit many, but when I was waxing my camper on Sunday, they were everywhere. Hopefully it was short lived.
  7. I'm assuming the line would split sooner, and one would head to the old soundstage 1. Perhaps they would have the two existing tracks be FastPass+ only while the third track would be standby. Of course this could all be a false rumor too.
  8. I think Off Kilter had a slightly larger crowd for their last performance than the Lumberjacks had for their first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pygRG5cRi5U
  9. Possible explanation for the test: http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/toy-story-mania/news/07oct2014-soundstage-1-to-become-home-to-a-third-track-for-toy-story-mania-at-disney's-hollywood-studios.htm
  10. I thought he used them to chase the kids off of his lawn?
  11. HERE's A SCOOP! The first picture from the new Frozen ride at Norway:
  12. Words really can't describe the place. This was our best trip there. I wish we had a 3D camera to really capture the size. It defines the term breathtaking.
  13. For those who are interested, here are some more pictures from the Grand Canyon: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.977830778910619.1073741831.100000511177427&type=1&l=b8b0e9fdae
  14. I probably would have ended up with Bumbles. (if you know the Christmas special, you know who that is) :)
  15. I've attended the Gartner event in the past. It is a nice event. I assume it is still being held at the Swan/Dolphin.
  16. That is probably why I'm looking forward to it, although I am assuming it will be less rock and more folk. I loved listening to Off Kilter (have a bunch of their CDs), but I'm hoping this may be a partial replacement. At least it is supposed to be musical.
  17. A perfect summary. My Yukon Cornelius comment wasn't meant as an insult to the the emcee (although it may have come across that way). Actually, I thought he was the best of the bunch. At least he wasn't hitting walls throwing axes.
  18. I'm looking forward to the Italian Flag Wavers. Actually, I do have some limited hope for the Celtic Folk Music group, but time will tell.
  19. That is awful. At least it saved me from watching it. Doesn't sound like they had much of a crowd, and I'm sure it was even smaller by the end. While watching the emcee, all I could think of was Sam the Snowman from Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer, or an older Yukon Cornelius.
  20. My wife has been a CM for over 16 years. The biggest misconception people seem to have that talk to her is the belief that being a CM is like being paid to be on vacation. Those that come in with that attitude, generally don't last long and become disillusioned. As Lou and others here know, maintaining the level of standards that Disney still tries to uphold, requires strict regulations and hard work. As someone who has watched the last 16 years, working at Disney can be very demanding, difficult and frustrating; yet can also come with some great rewards - if your expectations are in line
  21. A friend of mine (also from Florida) saw it yesterday. His summary: "Once was enough." His other comments mirrored yours Lou.
  22. I passed an almost identical sign on my way to work this morning in Clermont, FL. It was near a school bus stop, and the only difference was the stop sign was attached to the school bus, and the bus was obviously a school bus. Maybe they are making a universal graphical change since obviously more and more people refuse to read signs.
