I'm going to go with the statement that there are some of us; your oldest daughter included, who have excellent, very discrimating taste.
The problem is NOT with us, but with the rest of the world.
And that's going to be my storey going forward!

Hmmm, August 31, still in the midst of the FL rainy/super humidity/temperatures from Hades season.
I foresee a bumper crop of wandering drunks chugging down adult beverages trying to keep cool.
Just watch out for colorful puddles on the walkways.

If Disney could develop a new type of firework that was only visible through special glasses, they would.  And they'd set up kiosks on all the beaches to sell those glasses.

Problem is people seem to now view "history" based on what we know/think/do today!   Somehow or another history has to be "re-written" to match up with today's standards without considering that it was our history that led to what are today's standards, ethics, discoveries and knowledge.
Every time I read a piece in the paper or hear something on the news I'm left thinking I must be pretty ignorant and that maybe I didn't acutally go to school or university or get a graduate degree in history, because now all that I learned is being re-written to be more "modern" and more "acceptable".
So damned silly to ignore what really happened and "make-up" something else !!!!

While they're at it, they should go back and redo the entire Carousel of Progress.  Make the wife the narrator, and the husband should be doing the ironing.  Why should he sit on his butt gabbing while she does all the housework!  Hateful, misogynist Disney....

I think it's more that they are claiming the change is to get rid of the objectionable scene that bothers me. History is not objectionable, it is what it is. There WERE bride auctions in pirate days. Now if they merely stated they were re-imagining the story, so be it.

    Perhaps.
But I also have another theory.  Could it be that Walt and Roy raised the funds to build WDW by mining phosphate around Bay Lake with slave dwarf labor?  And as much as they tried to conceal the evidence, these two rail cars threaten to blow the lid off the deception?  7DMT may be fun and rollicking to you, but to the survivors of Walt's dwarf mining horror, it is a sharp stab in the back by Disney executives who are laughing all the way to the bank.

I know I'm a complainer but I just went to book 7 nights during spring break for March 2018 and the premium sites were $175 a night.  WTF?????   This is starting to get out of hand. Then the best part was I went to book Thanksgiving week (2018 to remind you) and each tier of campsite is not available.   Double WTF....    coming very close to selling the RV

The museum is interesting - in some ways though it seems almost "quaint" when you look at what's happending at WDW.  It makes me very nostalgic!!!
But all of SF is fun.  It's a very walkable city if you like to do that.
We have stayed several times at a very nice campground (KOA Petaluma) just North of SF and then, rather then park downtown we just drove down to the ferry and took it across to the harbour. You can spend the day roaming around and then catch the ferry back whenever you like.  It avoids having to find parking which is at a real premium!!!!
Enjoy the city - it's one of our favourites.
And, if you need another suggestion, you can also hit the wine country north of the Bay area - there are a couple of really great day trips that are very easy drives through the different wine valleys and some lovely small towns with great restaurants and shops.

Of course it's all about the $$.  It's been that way since they wrapped Walt's head in tin foil and tossed it in the freezer.
Heck yes it's true.  There's a pinned thread with hundreds of pages of comments on that big unofficial Disney message board where those losers discuss how to book "throwaway" camp site reservations and abuse the Disney system.
    BINGO!
This is what those of you who think the Fort should be some kind of oasis from the real world need to remember.  People suck these days.  And they have found the Fort. It's not just the Fort that isn't as nice as a result or society's decline. Name me a nice vacation spot where you aren't going to be surrounded by obnoxious people behaving badly.
The thing about the Fort is that with proper planning, you can still have a great time at your campsite.  Even though I don't need a premium site that's now what I try to book, and I stay away from the other site levels when I can. I go for the smaller premium loops with more space between the sites rather than trying to be in a prime location. There will still be occasional idiots, but not as many, and there will be more space between them and me.

    Yes and no....
The Fort is a FAMILY oriented facility and should be run and enforced as such.
Sure, your neighbors should have enough common sense and decency to know better than dropping F-Bombs for everyone around them to hear.  Or not to be viewing explicit movies or having music playing that has inappropriate language for kids to hear.
But if they are lacking that bit common sense, than it's up to Disney to stop by, pay them a visit, and tell them to straighten up and fly right, or vacate the premises.
In the past you could be neighborly and ask them politely to watch themselves, but now a days you would probably be cursed at, your site vandalized, or attacked.
There are plenty of campgrounds that are more X-Rated then G for these people to plop down in, but the Fort isn't one and their boorish behavior shouldn't have to be tolerated.
We have reported issues in the past, and when nothing got rectified, we were told that the Fort is a big place and security can't be everywhere.
Well maybe with the amount of $$$ they are raking in, they need to higher more security/rangers and have them patrolling with their SUV windows down so they can hear the midnight dance parties.

Many here have had the same experience, some multiple times.
And it's almost always the same story: Large groups of mostly unrelated people.
It's not just one kind of group either, I have seen bad behaviour from Church Groups, Boy Scout Groups, and others.
This issue would go away if the Fort would just require everyone to obey the same rules and if there is a problem your group isn't allowed back.
Even better would be to require large groups to rent a group site (isn't that what they are for??).
Instead, Disney allows them to rent multiple single sites (making it even harder for families to get one) and then treat them as if it was their own private party area.
Until Disney decides to finally enforce the rules evenly regardless of the size of your group (size of the checkbook in other words...) these issues will keep on happening and family campers will pay the price..... literally and figuratively

I wouldn't be surprised it they built some sort of elevated viewing platform right in the middle of the Hub for paying guests to get a great view, and the heck with non paying guest that will have their view blocked by a new structure.
I'm kidding (hopefully) but that is why I dislike the extra charge items Disney is pushing.
If people can afford these extras, them let them line Disney's pockets with even more $$$, but don't take the space or previous amenities away from your average Joe and Jane.
Build them a separate viewing area for the Desert parties, bring in a special boat for the Ice Cream Social, make sure there are enough buses running for the normal customers before diverting ones to the Express Program, etc.
They could build view platforms above either side of Main Street.
