  1. I like your friend's dual tandem gooseneck...nice. BTW, that is a manual hub lock fail, for sure. I like Nate's backpedaling throttle technique....that does help em bite a little better.
  2. This is a great TR, for sure. I may take some heat for this, but it also reinforces my belief that we would not enjoy a cruise. It just seems too structured and limiting for my spur of the moment type of family.
  3. I could get technical and discuss thermal mass, hydrogen bonding in water and its vital role in supporting life on earth (and keeping things cool), etc......But I would hate to get all Larry J on y'all:-)
  4. Took some leftover salsa chicken and made some bangin nachos tonight.
  5. I made "salsa chicken" found in one of the links in page 1. It was really good. We ate some of it just in a bowl. It was very similar to chicken chili.
  6. After work today I had to hop on I-75 to pick up the wife in ATL. I ran into a terrible thunderstorm for a while. As it was letting up I came up on a 1/2 ton Tahoe pulling a TT about 30' long. They were in the middle lane and were using up all of it while fighting sway from passers. The weight distribution was obviously way off, as the Tahoe was hunkered way down in the rear. They were also only using 1 friction sway controller, which is about useless when wet. The tail was wagging the dog. The worst thing was there were 5 kids bikes on the roof....the TV was full of kids and a lady that was a
  7. Everything was frozen in one bag and straight into the pot. It was good....very tender. I seasoned the crap out of it.
  8. I did a pot roast with red potatoes, vidalia onions, and green beans. Tonight we had cilantro chicken.
  9. Did my first freezer to crock pot tonight. It was gooooood.
  10. I have tried a lot of the designer electrolyte recovery drinks while racing. They work so much better than gatorade. Propel is pretty good for too something that is sold nearly everywhere. My personal favorite is Pedialite. It works just as good as those that are harder to find and much more expensive.
  11. Since my new job allows me to be at home by 2:30 in the afternoon I have started handling most of the dinner work. I think that I will try some of these ideas. Saving money and not cooking every day sounds like a win win. Great thread!
  12. Brent, One thing to consider is resale. You will probably want to upgrade to something else sometime in the future....unless you do an insane amount of research and homework before hand. Most people find out what they REALLY want after camping for a while. If you found a bunkhouse model that fit your needs except for the bunk you could modify the bunk area for another purpose.....ie storage or wet bar ;-) Then when it comes time to sale you could put it back to stock. BH's are usually in high demand in the used market.
  13. About what year did they pave the paths to the marina? I remember it being unpaved, but can't recall the year.
  14. KZ's prices are about like everyone else's. I would say mid teen's for the size rig that you are looking for. Their dealer network is smaller than most, though. They do make nice campers. We are on our second one.
  15. Take a look at Jayco and KZ. Both are privately owned and offer a 2 year warranty. They are both considered to be above average quality. Here's a good board for KZ's. http://kzownersforum.com/index.php Also check out Evergreen. They don't use wood at all in the construction.
  16. Do a search over at rv.net. I've never owned one, but I have seen plenty of threads about poor quality and lack of customer service.
  17. Our kids start on the 3rd. I hope they don't give us any problems about pulling the kids out for 7 days.
  18. Towing with a Wrangler is a good way to end up in a ditch.
  19. We go to the one in Chattanooga ever so often. The one time that we ate at the BW it was not quite as good.
