  1. Looks like 3 is leading the way. Fiesty is working on my ressies....
  2. I don't get what is so bad or inappropriate with this interview. It's Reddit.....it's not like they were conducting it at the front gate. Regardless of whether the lady shouting obscenities was upset or not you would have to admit that hearing a person shouting obscenities during a flag service is pretty dang crazy and not too common. I know that it would get my attention. They asked him about crazy things, and he responded with an adult dressed as a slutty tinkerbelle and the tourettes lady. Sounds pretty crazy to me. I bet if someone worked the front gate long enough they would see some stuf
  3. The wife and I have been talking about our upcoming trip plans. The original plan was for me, my dad, and our girls to head out for a week at the Fort during Thanksgiving. My wife, baby, and dad's GF were going to fly in on Wednesday, since they can't take an entire week off during that time. We would then stay until Sunday and then all head out. So now we are talking about postponing until after the first of the year. My wife and dad's GF can take off more vacation after the first year. This makes a January or February trip a lot more appealing. I think we all would like to be at the Fort dur
  4. Thanks for taking the time to scan and upload these. They are great!
  5. I used to collect, but have since sold a good portion of my stuff off when prices went up. Got rid of 2 Colt AR's, a new in box UZI, a Browning Belgium 30-06, a few factory nickel West German SIG's, a 40 yr old new in box 1911. Still have a West German SIG P229 40 cal, a few pocket pistols, some rifles and shotguns. I have been thinking about buying a Ruger LCP.
  6. FWIW, I prefer spring....mild temps, flowering rhodo and mtn laurel, full creeks, etc, etc
  7. I would probably pick winter. LRC and Desoto are prettier when there is some rain. The many small and large falls would be running. Winter temps in the day could be in the 20's or 60's or anywhere in between. I have found the temps on Lookout Mtn to be 5-10 colder than the surrounding area most of the year....not withstanding temp inversions.
  8. I once had a pull of the legendary Popcorn Sutton's apple pie. It was great.
  9. I think the no TT and smaller policy is a way to keep the amount of kids to a minimum more than crappy RV's out. Most 5'ers belong to fulltimers, although that seems to be changing with the popularity of bunkhouses and super lites.
  10. I would stay there before I would stay at Camping on the Gulf........if the state parks were full.
  11. The sad thing for me is I have very fond memories of dad and I eating breakfast there nearly every morning when I was a kid. That is something I want to pass on to my kids, but we usually have a very strict food budget. I simply can't spend that much on breakfast each morning. I guess they will just have to remember eating at the camper.
  12. x100 I dropped $70 for breakfast for 4. DD6 and DD5 barely ate anything. They could have easily ate off of our plates or a third plate, but they would not allow it. I won't be back.
  13. She emailed me back last night. Sounds like she can get it straightened out and possibly with a lower rate. :clint: I would have called, but I can't make anything more than a faint whisper right now. Fiesty does, indeed, rock!
  14. She must be busy....I would call, but I lost my voice today. Being sick sucks!
  15. I may have a potential problem with our reservations for Thanksgiving this year. I have a ressy in a full hookup from the 15th through the 23rd. Now we are planning on being there until at least the 25th...maybe 26th. So far I have been unable to extend the full hook up ressy any further. I then tried to make a ressy for a premium for the full time, but I haven't been successful. I was able to make a premium ressy for the last 3 days that I wanted, but now I have two types of sites booked. I really don't want to move to another site during our stay. I have tried all types of date combinations,
  16. The last time we went camping the neighbors had a new Jayco just like that one. It looked really good.
  17. I don't know what you guys are talking about.....I think the chick in the blue shirt and flip flops is kinda cute.
  18. My #1 concern would be if the new ultra light tt could hold up to full time use. Airstream's (especially the older ones) are extremely well built. New campers are not well built. 99% of them are thrown together with barely adequate materials and frames. Many RV manufacturers will void the warranty if the camper has been used for full time use. Although, a few a do market "full time" models.
  19. Great TR! BTW, I generally tell those who roll with me to go HAAM or GTFO.
