  1. The girls and I just finished a hike down into the Black Creek Gorge. It's really nice down there.
  2. Here a few pics of the CG. A lot of people have left today, but a few have arrived. The weather continues to be great. This is our last night. We are gonna have a fire and some crock pot chicken tacos from the recipe thread.
  3. So I came into work this morning at 5 am to make OT...then my wife called and said that a wife was helping her husband back a MH and trailer into a site, and they totally jack knifed it. The husband then proceeds to chew the lady out for a while. :rofl2: I'm sorry that I missed it. I guess they don't put mirrors on MH's. :hah:
  4. Once you have had chiggers on your cajones you will be more vigilant against them.
  5. The majority are non campers, but a lot of campers were there too. The weather couldn't be better this weekend. And yes those two are mine. I wish they could forever be 4 and 5 yrs old.
  6. Doing this one on the phone...... We are at our favorite local park (Noccalula Falls) this weekend. The park was hosting a festival for Halloween at the Park. They had lots of things for kids to do....all of which resulted in kids receiving candy. Our site for the weekend. Some pics from the park It has been a great weekend so far. I also did some mountain biking on the trails here by the park, and we are about to fire up the grill.
  7. Looks like work may prevent us from going back in Jan, if so AP's won't make financial sense. Not a happy camper.....it's a catch 22...I need the job to vacation, but the job may prevent the vacation. Oh well, won't be long till Thanksgiving at the Fort anyway.
  8. Sorry if this is a repost. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnC0CcfQ4wk&feature=player_profilepage
  9. I've enjoyed reading another great TCD TR. I'm surprised the Disney po po didn't sweep in when you tripped that motion sensor......must have been off, huh?
  10. A local RV dealer had some campers on display at our local wallyworld today. One that caught my eye was a small TT that was completely made of aluminum. No wood anywhere in this thing. You can even hose them out. If I was in the market for a new small TT or toyhauler this would be tops on my list. http://www.livinlite.com/
  11. I've been crunching the numbers for park tickets vs AP's. Since we will probably spend at least 15 days at the Fort in the next calendar year (starting at Thanksgiving) I think AP's will be the best option. Plus the added discounts on food and maybe lodging only sweeten the deal. Where/how is the best purchase option? Is the pass a hard card like a KTTW card? Any other perks that I need to know about? I really the idea of going where ever we want whenever we want.
  12. I love hot and spicy beef ramen. I buy it by the case.
  13. I wouldn't pull 11k lbs with a half ton no matter how much power it had. That's 3/4 ton and up weight.
  14. x2! I think our 5'er is around 400 sq ft with all of the slides out. We generally pay around $80 a night. That's $0.20 per sq ft. Fort Wilderness FTW!
  15. I buy Eternabond from this site. http://www.rvupgradestore.com/SearchResults.asp?mfg=Eternabond The 4"x50' is around $55. If anybody knows of a cheaper source please post it up.
  16. Yep...you can forget caulking once you Eternabond it. It's much better protection.
  17. IMHO, Test Track is one of the most over hyped rides at WDW. I can't believe people stand in line for this thing. I've had more fun riding the WDW buses.
  18. UAB has a masters program in civil or env that I could do at night 2 days a week.
  19. What's your background in engineering? I am thinking very seriously about going back to school next year to get an engineering degree (civil or environmental). I have a degree in chemistry already, but the company that I work for really likes engineers. Any advice for a potential middle aged student?
  20. We are making a mini vacation out of the half marathon in January. It will be my wife's first run, other than some 5k's. I've been going back and forth over where to stay. My options are value (I don't really want to do this), rent from Donnie, or store my 5'er from Thanksgiving till Jan 3rd. I guess it will come down to the latter two, since I already have a full hook up site reserved.
  21. Thanks for the info, TCD. I wonder why Disney sold off that particular property? It seems like it could have been valuable to them in the future for more resort space.
