  1. I got a set of these reels a few years ago and they work very well. I use them for my outdoor C9 bulbs, and I have a couple of bins that have holders to wrap lights around that I use for the Christmas tree lights. I never have tangled cords, it is just about the only thing organized around here One trick to using these things is when you are packing the lights back up, make sure you wrap the lights female end first, that way the following year you can easily plug them in to check them and then just roll them out.
  2. Really like the zero G type chairs, bit they are just not portable enough, and we don't have the space. I think we will have to check out those Strong Back chairs.
  3. I finally got a chance to listen, and really enjoyed it. I just downloaded it to my Android phone, had no issues, and no need to sign up for anything. I would like to hear a continuation about where remnants of the railroad can still be found, but for me, knowing little about it, but being very interested in general amusement park history, I found it very interesting and informative. I will certainly be doing some exploring of my own when I am there in January.
  4. That is what I do even here in Virginia. I have a very small system, so there is not much to it, and we camp year round, so it is nice to not have to drain anti freeze each time. Like Carol, I have a disconnect switch on my battery, and even though it stays plugged ini shut down the battery so it does not over charge it. On long breaks and in winter I connect it to a maintainer.
  5. Thanks for the info guys. Carol, that looks like it will work perfectly.
  6. So much of this depends on the trailer itself, how heavy it is, what kind of shape it is in. Generally, I like to tow at a speed of about 60 MPH. I have had mine up to 75 with no problem. I am towing a small camper, but not a pop-up, so it is going to be a little different. MPG will drop, you are adding a lot of extra weight to your tow vehicle, that is always going to bring MPG down. It really depends on the vehicle as to how much that drop will be. I would try and get it out, at least for a night locally, so that you can see how everything is supposed to work and make sure it does all
  7. I am not talking about the fire with Chip and Dale, but about having a fire at your site. I know that there are strict guide lines on the type of fire pit you may use at the fort, could anyone point me to those? Any suggestions on where these fire pits can be obtained? Are they available for rent?
  8. Try Fun Spot America, right near Universal. It is free admission, pay as you ride or get a wrist band, and everyone is raving about their little wooden coaster, White Lightening.
  9. Nicely written, looking forward to hearing what you find on your visit.
  10. Great info, thanks. Thinking about renting in January, think I will give them a call.
  11. Yes, if you need it right away and don't order it ahead of time it will set you back $199.
  12. It takes an army a week to set that thing up, no thanks. Looks really, really flimsy. I at first thought it was a home build, but it looks like it isn't:
  13. Cool, just what I wanted to know, that and the expiration of it. You guys are awesome, that's why I came here. And, I wouldn't know anything about those silly photos ;-)
  14. I've been looking at the Memory Maker option that you can buy. I have read through the Disney website, but it really doesn't have a lot of information, and I was wondering if anyone has gotten this and felt that it was worth the expense. We are leaning toward it, as we like on ride photos, and it would be nice to get character photos together and not have to worry about someone that can't operate my camera. Photo downloads without prints works well also, as that is the only way we really share photos these days (though I am working on a wall of on ride photos at home). Last year we got a Six
  15. And that is just it, they can charge more, even if it is not really worth more, because folks are still going to pay it. Can't say I blame them.
  16. That would be my thinking as well, strip it entirely and rebuild the interior. Would look awesome and could be brought up to modern standards by someone that knows what they are doing.
  17. One word, snowbirds. It may be off season at the fort, but all the full timers are down for the winter, so it is on season for the other campgrounds.
  18. My wife splurged for the Franklin Chef portable ice maker this winter. We have used it s a few times and it does pretty well. It is advertised to make 26 pounds a day, and if you kept it running I can see it doing just that. It has a small holding tank that fills with water, over which the ice basket sits. When it finishes a batch of ice, it dumps it in the basket, and if it melts off a little, the water goes back into the holding tank. It senses if the basket is full or the tank is low on water and will shut off until you replenish it or empty the basket. She has been very happy with
  19. In most places the law is that once it is on the curb it is considered abandoned and is fair game.
  20. Thanks for the comments folks. The trip is still a ways off, but for my wife and I it seems like the better option, both cost wise and just nicer having the larger sites. I know, I way over think these things :-D
