Hello, all, to my latest trip report.  It will start slowly and take some time to complete, but eventually we will get to the end.   First of all, thank you for reading along and especially for commen

Love the pictures of all the people.  People watching at Disney... tough to beat that :)

It's great, isn't it?

Some of these costumes have got to be insanely hot.

And it was a really warm afternoon.  I couldn't have worn some of them.

So sorry t hear about your aunt.

Great pix as expected.

Thank you, Ray!

What's up with the French pirates? We know they would have just given up when first shot was fired.

:rofl2:

My favorite is of the kid dressed as a Premium Mickey Bar.

You have a good eye for details!  I was disappointed I couldn't get a better picture of him.

Okay, let's get on with the TR.

Monday, October 27 -- The Day We Split Up -- Part 1

David had big plans today which conflicted with the FPs and dining reservation I'd made.

As usual, he wanted to spend some time touring the countryside.

As usual, I wanted park time.

So we loaded Dottie into the car and David dropped me off at the Outpost.

I rode over to the bus stop and was the first ECV there.  We waited and waited and waited ... after 45 minutes there were six ECVs there, all going to EPCOT.  And still no bus.

An elderly internal Fort bus driver got upset about how the ECVs were piling up.  He talked to his fellow drivers, and finally he said "we've got to get these people moving.  I know I'm not supposed to, but I'm getting these people to EPCOT!"

So he loaded four ECVs and six passengers onto his bus and off we went.  None of the ECVs were tied down.  Two were in the aisle between seats.  I just prayed none of them would move and no one would get hurt.

Off we went.  Remember the 20 mph speed limit at the Fort?  Apparently that was the only speed the driver felt comfortable at.

Meanwhile an EPCOT bus had pulled into the Fort, loaded the other two ECVs and many passengers.  They passed us shortly after we left.  Almost blew us off the road.

Finally we arrived.  I had no plans until our lunch reservation at Biergarten (and David finally agreed to meet me there).

So I looked around at:

I still had time to spare before WS opened, so I decided it was a perfect opportunity to visit:

After all, it's one of the few things I've never seen at EPCOT.  So I rode up to the entrance and thankfully asked the CM how long it took.  I thought it was 10 minutes or so.  He said it was 28 minutes long.  I turned around and left.

I rode on to the WS entrance.  There were a few people milling around even though nothing was open.

We usually travel clockwise.  Everything looks so different when you go counter-clockwise!

Arrived just in time to check in at:

And David was there on time!

We got seated and started digging in!  The Cheddar Beer Soup was delicious.

The rest of my food was tasty too, except for one meat that was coated in cornmeal and pan fried.  It was tough.

Then I went through the other side of Innoventions before leaving.

After David returned, we took Kassie looping.  This is a panorama of the "big rig," but I didn't capture quite all of this guy's setup.

What were David's thoughts on Biergarten?

He thinks it's okay and likes Chefs de France better.  I think France is okay and Biergarten is better.  So we alternate between the two.  Next year I have to go to France.

BIERGARTEN!!!!!!

That is all.

And I agree!

Well, I read all 15 pages in one shot!

LOVE your photos!  And the people-watching.....wow.  They don't have prizes for costumes or anything like that for guests during the party, right?  I couldn't image wearing some of those costumes--just for fun.  They do make for interesting photos, though!

Oh yeah, and about tall bridges.  Don't take I-77 then US 19 north up toward Morgantown WV or Pittsburgh.  You'd go over the New River Gorge Bridge.  They let people bungie jump off of it once a year...! (It's on our route down to WDW.)

Can't wait to see the rest of your trip.

Biergarten...  I think I'm one of the few Fiends, who doesn't really like it.  I LOVED the music, that was a lot of fun...but the food, honestly, the smell of sauerkraut made me pretty nauseous.  I was thankful that the strongest smell was outside of the restaurant.  We went there for my father and brother; they both really enjoyed it.

We always go clockwise at WS. Except for when we stayed at beach club. And it did seem strange walking backwards.

Biergarten!!!

How long did it take you to walk backwards?

Thanks!  Happy to have you aboard!

I've never heard of prizes for costumes during the party.  Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

Thanks for the warning about the bridge!

Sorry you didn't like it.  I love sauerkraut.  Honestly think I could eat it every day.

I got a bit behind on my trip report reading, but now I'm caught up with yours.

Great job with the FOF photos, and very good job with the Halloween party people watching!

It's good to know that you still have a lot more of your report to share.

Keep it coming!

TCD

Thank you!

Okay, let's finish up the day I left hanging ...

Monday, October 27 -- The Day We Split Up -- Part 3

For days we had tried to get back into the River Country area with the golf cart, but the path had been roped off.  Today it was open!

We stopped at the Meadow Trading Post, and I stayed on the cart with Kassie while David went in.  I couldn't figure out what was in this little guy's mouth:

_DSC5126_zps2093dbd4.jpg

It turned out that the people who owned the cart parked next to us had left popcorn in the cart, and the squirrel was stealing it.

After our huge lunch, we snacked for dinner.  And that's all the pics I have for that day.
