Whoops not skype! Even that was an ds error. I meant swype on my droid! Now the reason I'm a wanted woman! It's a long story, but I'll try...we are on the 429 and there is the sign toll ahead. We had to slam on breaks n because traffic was backed up a mile, not easy when towing. We wait our turn to get to the booth, if you have been on this road you know you pull off to the side to pay toll. We finally get up to the plaza to find out it is exact change or ezpass, we have neither. So what choice do I have? Block traffic or blow through it? I blow through with the alarm buzzing and the lights blinking! Of course, after we get through we realize we actually got off on an exit! They're was cussing involved here!

I'm pretty sure I read something about the unmanned tolls that if you don't have the Pass or the money, the camera gets your plate and they send you a bill for the toll and a hefty "service charge".....

Obviously an attempt to encourage people to get the passes, which in turn makes it easier to levy more tolls (taxes) without the overhead (toll takers).

Toll Roads in general are an example of a seemingly good idea run amok. If its a private road, owned and paid for completely by a private company, then I can see paying for the convenience of using their road. But in too many cases these toll roads are owned and operated by US! And we already pay taxes for highways in our Federal/State/Gas taxes!

Not that I have any strong feelings about it.....

Hey this is a great trip report.

I have a photo request.

Do you know where bear rock is?

Just go out the back of the Meadow Trading Post, and head toward the little dock behind it.

Look to the left, and you will see a group of rocks.

Please see if you can get a photo.

I was actually at the Fort earlier this week, and noticed that the water level was very low.

Bear Rock was high and dry!

Friday morning started out gloomy and drizzling rain. This turned into a HOT and Humid day. The goals for the day were:

1. Packet Pickup for the Expedition Everest Challenge run - aka The Disney Transportation System Day From Hell

2. Go to EPCOT for the Davy Jones (Hey Hey We're The Monkees) Flower Power Concert.

We decide we will eat lunch and go to ESPN Sports after lunch. Since we didn't get the GAG for dinner on Thursday due to our delayed arrival at The Fort, we headed down to get one today.

There were photos requested, so I took some on the way

Not on the list, but OldeKoot (The Momma) loves blooming Magnolias - suck it up!

OH HELL! They don't serve Dinner Take out until 4:30 pm! So much for the GAG for lunch

Back to the camper. OldeKoot says she will graze on what we have, and PureTCrazy & I can go on.

Thus begins the Disney Transportation Day From Hell.

1. The only buses to ESPN Sports depart from Pop; All Stars or Caribbean Beach :argh:

2. Rita & I need to eat lunch somewhere;

3. You can't get there from here

We decide we will

1. Boat to Contemporary and eat at The Contempo Cafe;

2. Go to MK and catch a bus to Pop

3. Catch the Bus to ESPN Sports

So we head back to the Settlement - and more photo requests

Roasted Curry Vegetable Salad. eh! The roasted veggies were over roasted and almost mush - and didn't really have much curry flavor. The Bulgar Wheat was supposed to be the main ingredient - not an after thought. A bowl of salad greens with a small topping of yada yada.

Rita got the Smoked Turkey. I'll let her review it. It was ok to my taste, but not something I'd order.

Ed, Ed, Ed, I suggested after your last experience that you should be driving yourself around WDW. Why were you taking the buses? Unless you're prepared to accept the bus system as it is, don't use it. You have the truck. I saw it just siting there while you were out being aggravated by WDW Transportation.

What is it about, DRIVE YOURSELF, that you don't understand. I'm beginning to wonder if you just like being annoyed?

Disney does not offer anything close to door to door shuttle service. So get your big fat butt in that truck and drive, drive, drive.

So, where were we? That's right - The Contemporary. PureTCrazy has a Crazy thought (imagine that :rofl2: ) Why don't we take the monorail, it's faster. You have to understand that she HATES the monorail, but ... Up the escalators and "whoosh" we are at the TTC, where we debark to catch a bus to The Studios. A short wait, and off to the Studios. Two stops down and we are at the stop for Pop. Bingo - that was quick. At Pop right by our stop is

Looks good.

And we wait; and we wait; and we wait. :argh: Three buses to Typhoon Lagoon; 2 each for EPCOT and The Studios later ... It's about damn time.

Packet Pickup takes all of 10 minutes - after 2 1/2 hours of dealing with Disney Transport.

We get back out and what do we find - the bus only runs on the hour and half hour :argh: If we had knew that, we would have had time to get something cold to drink while waiting at Pop :siren: :banghead:

Bus to Pop and then catch the bus to MK; Boat to The Fort. Along the way, some photo time ...

So let me get this straight, you're at the CR and need to get to WWOS.

Monorail to TTC

TTC to DHS

DHS to Pop Century

Pop Century to WWOS.

Lou, Lou, Lou. The last time I did Packet Pickup, there were NO parking spots. Rita ended up dropping me off and then driving elsewhere - until I called her to come back and pick me up over 2 hours later. After that experience, we REALLY didn't want to drive, since both of us had to go in.

I DO understand there can be issues, but running the bus to ESPN ONLY from a resort is something that could be "fixed" so easily. Why not have one bus that loops from a site ANY resort can get to - DTD, TTC or one of the parks come to mind. They USED to run from The Studios to ESPN Sports ... Yes, we could have gone a way that was quicker - but not by much Doing so would have prevented Rita and I from eating lunch, also.

A few minor glitches added up to a bad experience. Rita & I have luck that way. Ask Rita about waiting for a bus to PO:R for over an hour one night at MK - alnog with hundreds of others (not to mention too many tired, irritated children. I know I came off as angry in my post. It wasn't really meant that way - it was frustration from the minor irritations (sort of like yellow fly bites).

Enough of that - on to the Flower Power Concert.

Rita & I GAG'd and headed to EPCOT. No problems (see Lou - they DO get it right and I say so). 45 minutes left to get to the last concert, so we pick up the pace a little and head back. Rita is also a little flustered at this point and thinks about getting something alcoholic - until she sees the lines. I end up getting a Kaki Gori for 'us'

OK - I haven't uploaded the photos from EPCOT yet. You'll just have to wait >:D
