A Trip to CHINA!!
BradyBzLyn...Mo reacted to fowlandfishmommy for a topic
Okay so many of you know we traveled to China to adopt our sweet baby boy. We got home about 2 weeks ago. I don't have the time to do a TR on here, but I am doing a blog. So I'm going to post it on here. You can go back and read whatever, but I'm posting on a good starting point. This is when we were live in China. We didn't take our laptop to China so we just posted ipad pictures from there. (yes we were those people) Then when we got home, I've been doing a detailed trip report. So far, I'm only about half way done with the pictures. I'll post on here when I do a new blog post.1 point -
These are vintage slides my father took in 1977 at the Fort. I had to digitize them so they are not the best quality but I thought you all might enjoy them. I still have several slide trays and a metal box of slides yet to do but i believe these are the only Fort pics. There are some River Country and a couple of the Fort Wilderness Railroad. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152211590549779.1073741837.686514778&type=1&l=8d3ff1e4111 point

Sanna or Boma?
BradyBzLyn...Mo reacted to Tri-Circle-D for a topic
Since you've never been to AKL, it has to be Boma. The lobby and other facilities at Jambo House are so much more impressive than they are at Kidani Village. Kidani Village is really nice, but the lobby is much smaller and nowhere near as majestic as Jambo House. Jason made a good point that you can't see the Savanna from Boma, but you can tour the resort a bit before you go to the restaurant. I was also going to suggest Boma because of the activities they have there, which you might be able to enjoy before or after your meal, but when I checked the schedule, I see that they also have a1 point -
OT: I-Drive 360 Opening Spring 2015
BradyBzLyn...Mo reacted to Tri-Circle-D for a topic
The new attractions being opened on I-Drive by Merlin Entertainment Group were the topic of a front page story in yesterday's Tampa Bay Times: http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/tourism/from-lego-to-giant-wheels-merlin-entertainments-has-eye-on-florida/2216740 The Orlando Eye and other new attractions are being built by the same group that brought us LEGOLAND. Their business model is brilliant: Though it's far from a household name, Merlin has become the undisputed, second-largest visitor attractions operator on the planet based on attendance. Disney, no surprise, has a comfy lead in1 point -

Alright, I tracked down a bad photo of the kid's chicken Caesar salad at Sunshine Seasons. I think it was $6.99. It was a full plate, but it's partially eaten here. It also comes with 2 sides and a drink. It's a lot of food for the price. I tried it, and it was very good.1 point -

But they are cutting it in a very specific manner. Like a puzzle. Maybe so they can easily piece it back together in a short manner of time.1 point -

Traveling From STL to WDW

Agree with other, time your trip through Atlanta. We lived there for five years and the only traffic worse is the DC area and Manhattan. OK, maybe throw in LA but that is a long way away. ATL Rush "hour" starts early, it's busy by 7AM and goes later than most places. I would say come down 75 between 11 and 2, much later you will hit going home traffic heading out of the city. Personally, I would also get as far south of Atlanta as you can so the next day travel is short. I like to get to Disney early. Not so early that you can't get into a site, but early enough that it is not a wasted day. I1 point -

Coming from Central Il we take 55 to 4 to 64 to 57 to 24 to 75. Definitely get past Atlanta before stopping. We usually hit it at night and go through downtown. The bypass is just as busy and about 45 minutes longer. We have a motorhome so we usually use truck stops or rest areas to sleep. And yes the police are always horrible in Atlanta.1 point -

Made the trip several times from Iowa through St Louis. The most important thing is make sure you time going through Atlanta (not around) during a time that would not be considered rush hour, even on a Saturday. You could easily do that time wise. The closer to Valdosta as a stop the better. It's an easy drive from there. Mapquest will give you the roads for the straight shot towards Disney. Pretty much an angle towards it the whole way, except for down 57. If you're really excited, you can go into Florida before stopping. Georgia is a really long state with about 2 million state poli1 point -

First of all welcome from your neighbor to the north. I'm assuming DFW stands Dallas Fort Worth. I personally have never seen a mother-in-law plan so your probably going to sleep on a sleeper sofa. But I'm by no means an expert on rv's. I am sure you'll get some more responses tomorrow. Weekends tend to be slow around here. Lol We do have a sponsor of this site that rents bigger travel trailers 30' plus. And IIRC they have a TT with an outdoor kitchen. The website is http://www.traveltrailerrent.com. Good luck and again welcome aboard.-1 points
