Oh Reddit... a constant source of entertainment and open-mouthed head shaking.
You can betcha bottom dollar that she's not the only one that's going to try something like this with Disney, or any other company they feel "wronged" by in all this. All the other chaos aside, I feel badly in advance for the CM's that are going to have to deal with people like this when things start to reopen (if they haven't already).
What are the odds this woman is standing in a Costco right this minute hurling curses at a poor employee who is trying desperately to stay 6' away from her, demanding that they provide her with a free state-of-the-art gaming system, 72" HD TV and a month's supply of their best snacks to make up for the "trauma" caused to her precious snowflakes for not having their usual cushy toilet paper in stock.

Wow. I didn’t know it was that bad. I wish they would move to a system like they have at Disneyland where all FP’s are up for grabs once guests enter the parks. This 60 day business allows guests to game the system,  and then the park experience is ruined for everyone.

Tried to book a FP at the 60 day mark and they were all gone.  So was smugglers run, toy story mania, slinky, and alien saucers.

I really wish they would get rid of all FPs!

Well, the Regal Eagle Smokehouse is open!
You probably already know that, because all the usual bloggers and vloggers have already posted their rave reviews.
It seems like a hit.  Everyone particularly seems to like the different and unique special barbecue sauces created for the new restaurant, which are available at the sauce bar.
The TCD gang didn’t make it to opening day, but we did make it last weekend.  I had to wait at the sauce bar while a CM replenished the signature sauce, and this is what I saw:

RotR still cant beat sipping a high quality bourbon under an awning at the Fort and maybe some subsequent golf cart riding. I'll ride it later.

Being supported by locals has always been the big difference between Disneyland and WDW. Being local really does reduce the feeling that you must get to the park and rush to get everything in. When I lived in SoCal it was very common for friends and myself to decide to go to the park on the spur of the moment. Talking with family that still lives there that type behavior really hasn't changed.

I am glad that y’all got to ride, but your experience confirms the point I’ve been trying to make in this thread- the roll out of this attraction is a fail and Disney should be ashamed of itself.
How is it fun to have to be at a park an hour before it opens and hope that you’re one of the lucky few to be assigned a boarding group before they’re all gone in less than 3 minutes?  And even with a boarding group, the ride is broken down when you’re called, causing a 90 minute wait in the queue when it finally reopens?  And this is the best they can do with 50,000+ castmembers and retirees blocked out of the park?
    Absolutely ridiculous.

Good grief... all this money and I’m already anxious.
I think the only way Disney can try and start to handle the crowds, is extended hours (both opening and closing).  To not have this park open 7a - 11p for the foreseeable future, represents a complete lack of customer service to guests who save their money and pay thousands to The Mouse.  I truly hope Disney figures it out 😕

Ironically, this new system seems is similar to the original ticket books that Disney once used, where guests had to pay for each attraction individually. While the new systems would still likely have standby or other wait systems for guests without reservations, it does seem odd to revive a concept the company did away with nearly forty years ago.

I would love to see some sort of senior citizens/old fogeys type of AP that just got you into the park and maybe allowed you access to a couple of rides per day (at a greatly reduced price of course)!
When we go without the adult kids we just wander around, maybe catch a show or two, people watch, and catch a ride if there is a very low wait time.
We have a hard time keeping up with the kids and grandkids because of the wonderful FP system that bounces you across the parks all day long.  With the crowds it's not real enjoyable rushing around the parks fighting the crowds.
We can keep up with them (easier when we take the walkie talkies) but we usually arrive at the next destination a bit after they get there.

What we really need is a diagram that shows all of the companies that make the various parts for these manufacturers. I think almost everything is made by 2 or 3 companies.

That's for sure. They are probably hard pressed to afford the apartment rentals also.
I'm surprised Disney doesn't build a "company town" where the workers get indebted to them and have to pay them back the rest of their lives like the coal miners used to do.
I know it's endless building on 54 from the Suncoast out to Trinity/Little road.
Where are all the people coming from?

I saw that. The Pontiac Aztec had one too and by comparison the Cybertruck actually makes it look stylish.
I think a practical electric pickup for towing and as a work truck is a ways off so I will wait for Rivian and the traditional Detroit automakers to come out with theirs. IMO they have  a better idea of the requirements for a working pickup than Tesla.

We have been to Morimoto's a couple of times and they seemed consistently good but we haven't been there in a while. One thing I really liked about Morimoto's besides the sushi/sashimi  is the Japanese/American fusions they come up with. It makes for a nice balance if you don't want just fish and rice.

When we first moved here in the early 90's I was trying to find a decent deli. An Italian guy I worked with told me to go to a BP station which I thought was crazy. Turns out the owner had moved here from New York and decided the gas station would give him the most business. For a long time it was the only place in the area where you could buy good crusty breads. We eventually found a Kosher deli as well. Again it was some refugees from New York. Sadly neither are around anymore.

But they will probably sell out a lot of the nights, which will encourage them to come up with even more money grubbing schemes that cost extra.
They already parties that cost extra during MNSSHP.

I would try to contact someone in charge.
Tell them you are not happy with their solution, that you booked the site in good faith based on what was on their website.
It wasn't your fault that they had the incorrect pricing, and that they need to admit to their error and honor the price you paid.
Hopefully they will cave in and let you keep the price (and not give you a site next to the dumpsters).
If they don't honor the price, look for a local Albuquerque TV station that has one of those consumer advocates, tell them your story and see if they will look into it. At the very least it was a mistake that the festival should make good on, at the worst, it was a case of bait and switch.

keith_h reacted to Starbuc71 in My take on Galaxy’s Edge
As I stated in another topic, this weekend was our swan song for our annual passes. Being a huge Star Wars fan, I had to check out Galaxy’s Edge before our passes expired.  I did not get my hopes to high from what everybody said about the land itself and smugglers run not being the best thing since sliced bread.  I’ll have to say, a lot of time and imagination went into the area, but I did not feel like I was immersed in a Star Wars world. It felt more like walking through a wider animal kingdom then stumbling upon  some Star Wars stuff all shoved together in the back corner.  The shopping area is way to small with a lot of dead space in the land where it all should have been built.   The food choices are horrible and the $8.00 for a tiny glass of frozen blue (or green) milk is a great way to throw your money away. The “to scale” ships and speeders are awesome, especially to a person like myself that waited my whole life to see the falcon in person, but you can’t touch them. It was also said there would be a ton of characters walking around to bring you into the Star Wars world and interact with you   Wrong.. only saw 2 storm troopers  who were talking to each other.  Must be a union thing.
Smugglers run is cool, except the story for me.  Unless you watched Rebels, you would have no clue who Hondo is and there is so much going on in the movie on the cockpit screen, you end up just pushing buttons with no clue on what your doing or what the heck is going on. Forget about taking in the sights of the cockpit because the Next thing you know, the cast member is yelling to move and get out in some kind of friendly way.
I guess I’ll say, I was not disappointed, but I can say you can tell Disney built it and not George Lucas.  It could have been so much more.  I would have at least expected more to the entrance to the land at both entrances. Again it feels like 50% Animal Kingdom and 50% Something kind of out of Star Wars. Rise of the resistance is supposed to be ground breaking, but I’m not disappointed we won’t be going.  I do have to say, we rode slinky dog for the first time, and that was the highlight of the day. Never thought I’d say that.
