We have concrete.And this project is being done in phases. They do plan on extending the walk down further, parallel to the path, but they don't know how they want it designed. WTF. It's not rocket science folks and you thought Government was bad...

Looks like we may be pouring concrete tomorrow. It also looks like this is going to be done in stages. Both the contractor and one of the Imagineers said the walk would merge further down the path, but as of right now all they are doing is shifting the walkway towards 100/400.

Back on topic. They had their own parade.<br />And my observations so far, a very well behaved group. They are also in 1600 and have some tents along the canal.

Just found out this visit that groups such as "Northern Pioneers" get a discount for stays of 30 day blocks. The rate appears to be the same as AAA, or close to it, but they do not fluctuate on weekends. Apparently they have formed a "club" and the club negoitates with WDW about rates. Once the rates are confirmed then each member calls the group reservation line and makes their own reservation. Since many appear to leave mid to late Feb I have a feeling that the discounts are only good until Spring Break or the Holiday rates kick in. (That's just my guess) Northern Pioneers have a $125 membership fee. There is also another "club", didn't get the name that has a $50.00 membership fee. Not sure if they have to have a minumum number of members making reservations, but probably so.
Since the weekend rates don't go up there appears to be some savings, but I'd rather just make Jason do the work. :rofl3:

Construction is supposed to start in about 1 to 2 weeks at the "old" 3 way..They are going to add a walkway to the right (as you face the Settlement) that will merge about 20 to 30 feet past the stop sign with the cart path.(the wood wall and mound get leveled out)This will eliminate the pedestrian/GC congestion right at the road. According to the contractor there are other small walkway projects that are to be done involving similar types of improvements. This one is the only one currently under contract.
Rumor is that a seperate sidewalk may eventually run parallel to the cart path. Supposedly the various changes/improvements are part of the final resolution with the family of the boy that got killed by the bus several years ago.

X4....... For reasons none of us understand it is better to use an independent Travel Agent, such as Jason, to book your reservations. They are able to find the discounts and in many cases sites/cabins/rooms when the Disney Web Site or their Agents on the phone say there are none.

I have never seen the garland in person so bummer.  But it also irks me a little that it blocks the view of the castle.
 
I was in the night time parade when I was 16 in the high school marching band.  I have no idea what parade it was then.  (1996)  It was really really fun.  We got to line up back stage and see characters not completely ready for show.  And we got to make fun of the other band that was in the parade.  Fun times.  :)

It could be like the new hybrids that use cables.  The cable could go from the front, over the center post and connect on the end, similar to a suspension bridge.

On a lighter note. Mizzou can't stop the run and Auburn can't stop the pass. The last one to score wins, and it looks like it might be Aub.
