I’m glad that the TCD gang got to enjoy MNSSPs back when the price was reasonable, attendance was low, and things were simpler. It’s not fun anymore. And it’s a colossal ripoff.

It is neat, but at a cost of a monthly fee any month you use it.
I'll stick with the Central Florida Expressway Authority E-Pass Xtra. The Xtra is EZ-Pass. So, this one pass will cover all tolls in Florida, the few tolls in Georgia, the few tolls in North Carolina and the 18 EZ-Pass states.
I cancelled my SunPass account and my EZ-Pass account and now just use my E-Pass Xtra.

If you have two reservations you request them be linked with a Travel With number by Calling in to Disney Reservations. You can fax that request in as well. This lets them know though you are traveling together and would like to be near each other. This is how I set it up for clients.

My gut feeling is that this change will make the Fort the same as any hotel.  The front desk staff will always be able to see what is occupied, vacant and pending arrival.  They can sell a vacant site for one night without a problem.

Where I see the possible issues arising are special requests.  A system that has apparently worked well for many years (faxing requests) could be in peril.  I'm being told by another travel agent who works the Fort a lot (sorry Jason) that the faxes are being forwarded to the new assignment group.  How long will this last??

To be honest, I have never faxed a request.  I have noted on my reservation some things at times, like "back side of 1900 loop, outside" but even that was rare.  I like the surprise of seeing where they put us this time and we have never been disappointed.  On one occasion we didn't fit on a site but other than that time have always been happy.

I'm hoping that this is an issue just because it's change.  Nobody like change.

Well, I'll be honest and say.... we have done that.  Had to park our huge girl in the overflow, while waiting for our site, and there were several utility trailers taking up RV spots.  We simply moved one a spot over, so it was sharing with another utility trailer.

I'll be honest, if I needed an RV spot and a trailer was taking it up, I would move it......  I have seen very few trailers wit a boot on a wheel, and  10 ft utility I can lift the front and move around.

I will push the speed to 70 at times, but very seldom anything above that. Towing an RV is a “system” in my mind and all parts need to be operating correctly.  If anything is not right, the speed comes down to account for it.

First  in my book is the tow vehicle. I have always believed in overkill. I see too many people getting out a calculator to determine to the “ounce” what they “can” tow. I tow with a F-250 Diesel, single rear wheel. Even with this tow vehicle, I’m well below the limitations. Even with a substantial tow vehicle I know I have limits. I have had RV salespeople look me in the eye and tell me I was fine with a new camper. When I ran the numbers I was over 3,000 pounds over.

Next is the hitch. After most people buy the camper they are looking to “save” on the hitch. They look at price over functionality. I did a lot of research on hitch systems when we transitioned for a pop up to a travel trailer. In my mind all roads eventually led to the two hitches designed by Jim Hensley. The original, the Hensley Arrow and the newer redesign, the Pro Pride hitch. I won’t go into the details here, bu there is a difference in a hitch that costs $399 and one that costs $2,000.
Following up on the hitch is making sure the safety chains and breakaway brake switch are in good condition
I then look at tires.  I covered that before, so I won’t repeat myself other than to say no older than 4 years, proper pressure, speed rated for 80 and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The weather also comes into play  Rain, fog and high winds will slow me way down or even get me off the interstate. I’d rather be late than in the ditch.
Maintenance - this is the one that is too easy to ignore. Repack the axle bearings, adjust the brakes
Storage - This is the hard one for most folks.  Both of our campers (we have a 35’ Coachman and a 15’ Aliner) are stored inside a steel building in the mountains. They are seldom too hot, seldom in freezing temperatures and are protected from the damaging UV rays of the sun.

All of these are my feelings/opinions. Yours may be different and I respect that.

I’m a firm believer that new tires and checking air before every trip isn’t sufficient. Yes, I replace my tires ever 3 - 5 years. Yes, I check and air up my tires before every trip, but.......

i take it it one step further, I have a tire pressure sensor on every tire on both the tow vehicle and the trailer.   So far on three occasions even though I had new tires that were at the proper pressure before the trip I have had alarms that caused me to stop. Two of the situations were screws I picked up from the road and one was a valve stem that began leaking. In all three cases I had sufficient time to pull to a place of complete safety and address the situation in a place other than the side of the road.  One of the the three, when I exited the highway there was a tire store at the bottom of the exit ramp.

In all three cases, once I stopped, even though the tires were drastically low on air,  they appeared fully inflated and they passed the “kick” test.

I fully believe that that the vast majority of “Chinese Junk Tire” failures and “old tire” failures are really road hazards that have caused a loss of tire pressure that caused a catastrophic failure. In all three of my instances, had I not responded to the alarm and stopped towing I’m sure I would have a failure. Most times when a tire overheats and fails you end up with little evidence to prove what happened.

Everyone should have a TPMS on all tires.

It worked like a charm. We got the 10 day hoppers for $996
We entered Epcot with the hoppers and walked in a circle to the exit. Went to their guest services and upgraded to 2 AP’s for $700.
That ended up saving $110 plus a few cents over just purchasing 2 AP’s!
While at guest services we had our tickets prioritized on the Magic Bands so the AP’s get used rather than the 7 das remaining on our non-expiring tickets. We even found we had 4 remaining “pluses” each, giving us 4 water park entries....

My husband was on his way home tonight when he passed a Class A on our country road. He stopped to see if they needed help. Apparently they were towing a box cart behind them and the ball of the hutch snapped. We had an extra ball, so my husband got them all fixed up and back on the road. Curious, he asked them why they were way out here. Stupid Google lol. However in this case, thank you Google.

Is she renting points on a DVC room? If so, that is about right. You get towel and trash service on DVC rooms, but have to pay for full cleaning.

Well, our week at the mouse ended up being a relaxing time - but hot!
We really linked the 2100 loop and would not be disappointed if we got it again.   But, this trip was in our 18' Aliner.  For future trips we will probably bring the big camper, a 2014 Coachmen Freedom Express 297RLDS.
We liked having our golf cart with us so we will probably bring it for future trips.  Our current drive time from SC is a little over 6 hours and we normally stop about an hour shy of the Fort when traveling down.  Once we move to the mountains full time it will increase the drive to a little over 8 hours, so we will have to look at it again then.
My sister ended up at the Wilderness lodge for one night and they upgraded her to concierge.  The service and food in the concierge lounge were very good. From the 7th floor you could easily see the DVC construction and it appears it will be over very soon.  The new pool looks great and the new pool bar is already open.  I was amazed at the DVC cabins along the shore stretching out on both sides of the resort.  They cover a huge amount of ground along Bay Lake.
Did I say it was hot?  I think future trips will be more in the winter months.....
